Our regular round-up of the Premier League press conferences returns ahead of Double Gameweek 32.

The first part of our summary was published yesterday and recapped the headline injury news from ten pressers that were held on Thursday.

One of those press conferences was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s, which was completely devoid of any updates regarding his “flagged” Fantasy assets.

Comments from the now-permanent United manager on Friday weren’t much more helpful, either. Solskjaer told the Red Devils’ official app:

We’ve had a very good training week. Some have been away and have come back okay.

Alexis has just come back and there is only him who is out, along with Matteo and Antonio. Those three are out. We’ll have to check on one or two of the others.

Sadly those comments mean we are still none-the-wiser about whether Marcus Rashford (ankle), Romelu Lukaku (foot), Luke Shaw (unspecified), Anthony Martial (knee), Eric Bailly (head) and Nemanja Matic (unspecified) will be fit to feature in United’s first Gameweek 32 match against Watford on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s comments were more useful:

Everybody came back fit. Fernandinho, Kevin [De Bruyne], Vincent [Kompany], everybody is OK.

Except Fabian Delph, the other people is fit. We have 21, 22 players and that’s good, they have to compete with each other to take one place in their position.

Asked if even Benjamin Mendy (knee) was ready to feature, the City boss said:

Yep. Of course, he needs time. He trained the last three days and the reaction in his knee is really good.

Chelsea are another club to have two fixtures in Gameweek 32 but Maurizio Sarri’s press conference was thin on any bona fide injury news.

There was plenty to interest Fantasy managers, though, especially Eden Hazard owners.

Sarri said:

We have some players who are a little bit tired now. Kante, Giroud, Hazard played three matches [sic] in seven days and now we are not in October, it’s different. I had the whole squad only yesterday. Yesterday, I saw somebody was a little bit tired.

The Chelsea head coach had to fend off multiple questions about Callum Hudson-Odoi, saying:

We have to play eight matches in [the next] 28 days and so I’m sure Callum will start in two, three matches. It’s not a problem for me to put him in the starting XI in a Premier League match.

Sarri’s comments about Hudson-Odoi looking better for England – and preferring to play – on the left flank were also intriguing, as it is on that side of the pitch that Hazard usually plays.

Roy Hodgson provided an update on the condition of Wilfried Zaha (hamstring) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (unspecified), meanwhile, ahead of Palace’s game against Huddersfield.

Hodgson was asked if the well-owned FPL options would be fit to feature and replied:

Hope so, yeah. They’ve both been nursing those injuries but they were out in training this morning so if nothing happens in terms of reaction, then I’m hoping they’ll be fit. It’s touch and go.

Nuno Espirito Santo said that, the suspended Ryan Bennett aside, all of his players were available for Wolves’ match against Burnley on Saturday.

Santo commented:

Everybody is OK, but like you understand, many miles, and special attention for some of those, but everybody is fit.

On the FA Cup distraction, he added:

Game by game. Only focus on the next game, don’t think about anything else. The best way to compete is to look at the next challenge.

Spurs will be without Serge Aurier (hamstring), Eric Dier (hip) and Harry Winks (groin) for their first Gameweek 32 fixture at Anfield.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will make late checks on Trent Alexander-Arnold (back) and Xherdan Shaqiri (groin) but Joe Gomez (leg) remains out despite a return to training.

Klopp said:

It was pretty much their first full session so we have to see how they react. Joe [Gomez] was back yesterday after 15 weeks and looked really good but of course, early stages.

The Liverpool boss was also asked if Mohamed Salah had benefitted from a two-week break and replied:

Oh, 100%. You gain freshness in that time. They are always training but it’s not the highest intensity, so that helps.

Cardiff City have lost Callum Paterson (ankle) for the rest of the season ahead of their own Double Gameweek 32. Fringe players Matt Connolly (ankle) and Jazz Richards (hamstring) are also sidelined.

Arsenal and Newcastle play in the Monday night match at the Emirates and the hosts will make late checks on Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Dinos Mavropanos (unspecified) and Granit Xhaka (thigh).

The Magpies welcome back Jamaal Lascelles from injury.

Adam Smith (hamstring), Dan Gosling (knee) and Junior Stanislas (thigh) have all trained in the run-up to Bournemouth’s match against Leicester but Andrew Surman‘s (calf) season could be over.

Further information on Brighton, Burnley, Everton, Fulham, Huddersfield, Leicester, Southampton, Watford and West Ham can be found here.

We have more detailed injury information and predicted line-ups in our Team News tab, while our regular podcast/video round-up can be accessed below:

Pick 3 to play out of these 4:

    A. Doherty (bur, MUN)
    B. Schlupp (HUD, tot)
    C. Holebas (mun, FUL)
    D. Duffy (SOU, che)

          Similar to myself:

          Luiz -> Azpi
          Lindelof -> PVA
          D. Silva -> B. Silva
          Rashford -> Batshuayi

I don't think there's that much difference between points potential of any position there other than Rashford v Batshuayi but I'd rather have Batshuayi for two games than possibly Rashford for only one.

Kane is someone I have flirted with having because his ceiling is potentially massive, but I don't fancy Spurs to do much against Pool away and can't see them annihilating Palace either.

So given i take it that whomever was quoting olly on here earlier saying rash isn't fit enough for 90 minutes and Kaku would only be eligible to start second game was nonsense ?

From what's been said in the media, I find it hard to believe anyone knows exactly what will happen.

It seems to be pure speculation.

I personally wouldn't be taking a punt on Lukaku. Seems like Rashford is closer to featuring but who knows how many - if any - games he'll actually play in!

Sarri comments have shaken things up a bit... which looks better?

Hazard, Batshuayi, Babel, Azpi (double Chelsea defence)

          Or

          Hudson-Odoi, Higuain, Pogba, Young

          1. JohnnyMagrinho
              6 years, 11 months ago

              Definitely prefer the first option.

I think Babel is a fine choice - I'm going with B. Silva over him just because I don't want any City defence and think he will probably play both teams and is just a better player.

Don't think Sarri really likes CHO that much but he may feature somewhat.

Do you not think Giroud might start one of their games ahead of Higuain?

            How to spend 1.0m?

            Ederson
            Azpi-Young-Schlupp
            Sterling-Hazard-Pogba-Son
            Aguero-Rashford-Bats

I could also stick with Luiz over Azpi and go Trippier for Schlupp leaving 0 ITB

Prefer Schlupp to Trippier myself, by quite a way in fact.
Think there's a higher % chance of a Palace CS against HUD than there is for Spurs against PAL.

Also, I think Luiz is less certain to feature in both games than Azpi.

                  Azpi with either of those.

I like the idea of doubling up on defences this week - it makes sense with the fixtures as they are.

I personally don't see a CS for United in either of their games so that would put me off Young and I'm not convinced of his attacking prowess either.

That really is a coin toss other than Schlupp potentially being OOP.

I'd probably go for Schlupp + Duffy in all honesty, if funds allow it.

Is zaha injured or nah? Trying to find who to play as my third striker, don’t really want rashford who I have at the moment with higuain and aguero. Tempted to take a punt in Troy deeney or batshuayi

                      I've gone with Batshuayi.

The guy is a good player, far better than a Palace player in all honesty.

Palace are looking a bit more of a team of late and even if Zaha is fit enough to play he might only feature in a somewhat reduced capacity.

Deeney looks like he could miss a game due to FA Cup with Gray replacing him. Palace don't have that issue.

                    Kane Kun Murray

Or do I have to get rid of Kane. Looking at that Kane should go right?

You're basically fielding a squad of 9.5/10 players because of Stephens and Murray.

Not that Murray isn't a good pick, there's just far better options for this week.

                        Is if a FH/WC team?

I'd downgrade Kane and sort out those other positions personally.

I feel you, debating the same with my Kane-team:
                        Kepa
                        David Luiz, Boly, Schlupp, Laporte
                        Hazard, Deulofeu, Sterling, Pogba
                        Agüero, Kane

I'm thinking we should get players nailed to play 2 games, as far as that's possible. Sorry for not being any help.

Almost template team but feeling good to hit the 100pts mark. Any suggestion of improvement?

                      Ederson
                      Lindo - Azpi - Schlupp
                      Haz - Sterling - Pogba - Moutinho
                      Kun - Rash - Higuain

1.0 ITB but cannot fibd better replacement to Moutinho even at 6.7 🙁

                          Deulofeu, Pererya, Hughes (long shot).

                          Jota?

                          Knockaert?

Personally I'd be dropping Higuain for Jimenez or Batshuayi and that would free up a lot of money for you to get pretty much whichever viable DGW midfielder you want.

I'd downgrade Higuain to Bats and sort out moutinho. Maybe son, Alli, Bsilva, or even Dsilva. Your choice.

Pretty much identical but I have Deulofeu instead of Moutinho and used some extra money to upgrade Lindo to Young.

Young is just as nailed as Lindo and is on set pieces, also can and does play both fullback positions so you could use 0.6 to upgrade there.

Could then use the remaining 0.4 to upgrade Moutinho to Dela. They're both rotation risks and you would expect Wolves/Watford to write off their games against United and prioritise winning their games against Fulham (H) and Burnley (A). Dunno about you but Dela against Fulham at home has more potential than Moutinho against Burnley away.

Also a slight chance that Dela with the younger legs actually plays both, Moutinho at his age is way more of a rotation risk. Just my thoughts anyway!

It feels more nailed on with Ederson, Ruddy and Tomkins.
                              I like having Schlupp though.

I currently have this squad after taking one hit:

                        Ryan // Fabianski
                        Luiz // Doherty // Wan-Bissaka // Van Dijk // Alexander-Arnold
Sterling // Hazard // Pogba // Harvey Barnes // Brooks
                        Aguero // Jimenez // Wilson

I was all set to free hit but now I’m wondering whether I might be better triple-captaining Aguero instead given that:

                        (1) Aguero looks perfect for triple-captaincy this week and looking at the remaining gameweeks, I can't see where I’d be confident using it; and
                        (2) I already have nine DGW players (in theory) plus my SGW players are also decent options in their own right.

However, there are obviously doubts about game time for Wan-Bissaka, Doherty and Jimenez. I’ve also got a decent team value of 106.7 and so could probably put together something close to the template DGW32 team if I free hit.

So, what do people reckon please - triple captain Aguero or use my free hit?

                        Thanks in advance.

When would you free hit otherwise?

                          FH33
                          WC34

That's a good point and something that I was also considering. I could use it in BGW33 but with my squad as it stands, I already have 9 players for it and so could get to 11 players with a -4 (or make do with 10 players). I could then use the free hit in the last gameweek possibly.

I wouldn’t advise FH last day given there are often rotations, games given out to fringe players etc.

                                That is a fair point.

GW37 may be a good week to use the free hit. Good fixtures for Wolves (FUL), United (hud), Arsenal (BHA) and decent fixtures for Man City (LEI) and Liverpool (new).

Could get a nice free hit team together for that. The only issue could be that the Champions League semi-final games will be either side of the GW37 fixtures.

It’s either now or 33, so maybe look to see which is the strongest combo you could get.

There are concerns over your current DGW players (Jimmy Doh AWB) this week.

TAA & VVD have tough fixtures and are 10% of your budget.

I’d probably FH this week tbh.

Any argument except price for picking Schlupp over PVA?

I've got some extra cash kicking about and although not playing OOp figured he cuould be an upgrade and slightly more assured of two starts.

Don't think it's worth mate, Schlupp could even play as a winger/forward if Zaha isn't risked vs HUD

Thanks. Haven't really been paying attention to Palace, Schlupp stats look good and PVA seems to have dropped.

Schlupp is OOP and is more advanced on the same side as PVA. Schlupp definitely the better of the choice. Although cheaper, an upgrade would in fact be PVA to Schlupp.

Got to think Laporte is a risky pick now with Stones, Otamendi and Kompany all fit?

                          Solid team.

I'd be ready to switch Rashford and Mili to Martial and Bats if there is news.
