Nearly half of the top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Double Gameweek 35 have now exhausted their chip supply for the season.

47.9% of those at that level have used all of the chips and will have to rely only on their transfers for Gameweeks 36, 37 and 38.

47.0% have just one left in their locker, with the Triple Captain currently the least used of the four.

That has been used by 59.48% of the top 10k managers, suggesting that there is a real opportunity either to make ground in that bracket or break into it with an effective deployment of the Triple Captain.

Not surprisingly, the Bench Boost was deployed extensively at that level of the game for this round of fixtures.

The number of top 10k managers who had used it after the Double Gameweek 35 deadline rose from just 18.61% to 86.12%.

That means a huge 67.51% of them are enjoying points for all 15 players over the next few days.

The most popular cheaper options likely to have been included in Bench Boost scores are Shane Duffy (£4.8m), Mat Ryan (£4.4m), Yan Valery (£4.1m) owned by 44.88%, 39.68% and 39.05% of the top 10k respectively.

There was a small portion of upper echelon who considered the Triple Captain chip.

7.87% of them went for an enhanced skipper for Double Gameweek 35, with Raheem Sterling (£11.5m), Sergio Aguero (£11.8m), Raúl Jiménez (£6.9m) and Son Heung-min (£8.8m) the only four options considered for it.

Manchester City’s midfield star Sterling was the most popular from that quartet for the Triple Captain among the top 10k and has it all to do at Old Trafford after scoring just one point against Spurs.

Those options were also the key players in the normal captaincy debate too, which was exceptionally tight at the top level just as it was for everybody else.

Sterling was handed the armband by 28.14% of managers in the top 10k, more than any other player.

Aguero was second placed with 24.57% and Jiménez third on 22.08%.

Given that last weekend was the most popular for the Wildcard chip, it should be no surprise that there was little change in the top 10k most owned players between Gameweek 34 and 35.

The only major difference between the two models is up front. Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) was the third most popular forward among the top 10k for Double Gameweek 34, behind Aguero and Jiménez, but that honour now falls to Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m).

The Arsenal man is in 22% of top 10k squads for Double Gameweek 35, with fixtures against Crystal Palace (home) and Wolves (away) coming up.

Those who had Wildcarded in Double Gameweek 34 also had to make a change, following Troy Deeney‘s (£5.9m) sending off on Monday night.

Despite conceding seven goals in Double Gameweek 34, Duffy remains among the most owned defenders, although has lost a fair amount of his backing among the top 10k.

No defender was in more squads than him last time around, with 71.6% effective ownership in the top 10k, but that dropped to just 51.86% for Double Gameweek 35, which of course will be influenced by considerably fewer captain’s armbands.

I am not bench boosting and this week has been a disaster for me so far. Dropped out of the top 1k and it looks like being worse come the end of the week. I guess my only bonus is that only 5 of my players have played so far.

I think so. I scored 34 points on my bench boost. I scored 50 points more than the top 10k average. This should have been in theory a low scoring week for a bench boost. I always expected a red arrow but this week is turning out worse than anticipated.

I always knew that. The Brighton clean sheet has ruined it for me. I missed the deadline to triple captain as well. Although Salah vs Huddersfield could still outscore Kun (my captain). I really could do with my Arsenal differentials kicking into gear tomorrow.

Please share your dgw35 misfortunes so far.
    Here are mine (bench boosting):

Lloris no show out of nowhere,
Valery no show to keep company to Lloris,
Foster clean sheet wipeout at the end,
Sterling (C) blanking instead of scoring some goals (4g in previous 2 games)
Son & Eriksen blanks (fair enough, it was MCI away BUT Son scored 2 at the same stadium 3 days ago),
Took a hit to do Duffy->Kola and of course Duffy kept his sheet clean,
Jota & Jimenez blank at home vs BHA who had played twice in the week (fatigue) at home conceding 7 to CAR & BOU,
Took a hit to do Vardy->Laca and Vardy scored and got 3 bonus.

Bad luck for KDB owners too though, he was a great pick.

Man, this game must be directed by George R. R. Martin.

Son played 90 in CL, 90 today, Brighton up next on Tuesday, then the London derby(which I think is more important than the match against Brighton) while Moura can play in the CL, I don't see Son starting 4 games within 11 days. Although I could be wrong

You could be right about Son starting giving the type of manager Pochettino is. He prefers heavy workload most times, this is why they struggle with injuries but starting 4 games in 11 days will be interesting to see

Agree but I think Poch will prefer to start with Son in a london derby than a game against Brighton. He has also played 180 minutes with only 2 days to recover, travelled twice to Manchester + early kick off today + Tuesday too soon(can play Saturday against West ham since no CL). These are my reasons

There’s no way he’d bench more than one - if any - in my opinion. Origi doing well in training though, Klopp said that, and he started Porto away which was a surprise so Klopp is capable of pulling one. Out of all the players though,Trent is the one likeliest to be rested against Huddersfield for me due to the options there.

In my work league, being top 10k is pretty much guarenteed first place

I'd be tempted to wait and see how the Cardiff game goes.

Feel like Salah might be more important in that 3rd Liverpool spot, especially with the talk of the TC chip next week against Huddersfield.

Not that id be pulling the trigger tonight buuut..

    A) Eriksen + JWP > Mane + Camarasa (0.4m itb)
    B) Eriksen + JWP > Mane + 4m Mid (0.8m itb)

Either of these for a -4? I know Tottenham have great fixtures, but so do Lpool and I have Son but no other offensive Lpool asset

    1. MTPockets
      7 years, 4 months ago

Much of a muchness. Just depends what you can do with the extra £ vs useability of the mid

How essential is sterling? He looks really dangerous but only way for me to fit him is
    A) eriksen (whu) + vardy (ars) to sterling (bur) + 6.8 (ings?) -4
    B) salah (hud!!) To sterling
All fixtures look really juicy to miss out. What would you guys do?

        Have
        Son salah mane eriksen fraser
        Vardy jiminez rondon
Fixture wise all look really good. Only 0.2itb so have to make big sacrifice to fit him in.

You haven’t seen the goals then. Great finish for both, just fortunate to get to that point in the first place that’s all. But that’s the beauty and pain of FPL. If you’re a Doucouré owner you’re so close to a huge haul and end up with hardly anything. I have neither by the way.

Any other ways to generate funds? Not keen on anything involving Ings, and think Vardy could easily pop up with a goal against Arsenal.

I'd imagine owning Salah will be important for next week though... keep an eye on the Cardiff game. G

Depends on the rest of your side but it's just to get Salah in and bench Ings I guess?

I've stuck with Vardy so am biased, but I'm holding. Loves scoring against Arsenal.

Vardy isn't ready to stop scoring 🙂 . I wouldn't sell. Maybe De bruyne to Mané? but after tomorrow's game
