Liverpool players are going to be the most popular in the Gameweek 36 captain poll.

After witnessing Manchester City reclaim the Premier League top spot outright on Wednesday night, Jurgen Klopp’s men will almost certainly be at their best when Huddersfield come to Anfield on Friday night.

However, selecting the right Liverpool player may take some work ahead of the Gameweek 36 deadline.

Sadio ManĂ© (£10.0m) has already taken an early lead in our latest captain poll, which you can vote in below or on the sidebar of our website.

The Senegalese international has 10 goals in his last 10 Premier League home matches, making him the most reliable in terms of form in front of his own fans.

However, Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) may give ManĂ© a run for his money given his impressive performance in his last Anfield match, against Chelsea in Gameweek 34.

The Egyptian’s spectacular strike in that game marked the first time since Gameweek 23 that he had scored in back-to-back Premier League games.

Salah also picked up an assist for James Milner‘s (£5.6m) penalty against Cardiff and has won more spot kicks in the league for Liverpool than any of his colleagues this season.

There may be some reticence from his owners to captain him though, after he spent some time in New York this week.

Salah was recently named one of the world’s most influential people by Time Magazine and was in the USA to attend the prestigious Time 100 Gala.

He has reportedly returned to the UK now but his travels (to a different time zone) could affect how much faith Fantasy managers are willing to place in him for Gameweek 36.

There are a number of options worth considering in Liverpool’s defence too.

Andrew Robertson (£6.8m), Virgil van Dijk (£6.6m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.6m) could all benefit from the fact that Huddersfield remain the division’s lowest scorers and Liverpool have more clean sheets than any other side.

While Barcelona await Liverpool next week, the fact that they are playing Huddersfield on Friday night should ease concern over rotation.

Outside of the Reds, it is hard to truly find much inspiration for a differential captain, such is the quality of Liverpool’s fixture.

Manchester City are the only team whose form is comparable as they travel to Burnley but backing Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) or Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) may still be seen as a risk.

The two players combine for just five attacking returns in their last four away matches, each player blanking twice in that run.

That said, Burnley look safe from the drop this season and have little to play for, so there’s every reason that Manchester City could record a heavy win, especially with no Champions League to consider any more.

Spurs, on the other hand, do have to concern themselves with European competition still, which could affect how they line-up against West Ham on Saturday lunch-time.

Son Heung-min (£8.8m) is banned from the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Ajax so he should feature, and is probably the most likely to succeed out of his colleagues.

West Ham have one of the worst defences in the league over the last six Gameweeks, so there should be plenty of chances for Spurs.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) has been a key player for them in that time but he could be finally handed a rest ahead of midweek after starting every league game since Gameweek 18.

Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) remains in the picture as a differential captain too after he extended his scoring run to eight goals in as many league matches in Double Gameweek 35.

This weekend he faces an Arsenal side that continues to struggle away from home, most recently outperformed by Wolves in a 3-1 defeat at Molineux.

    Which move should I make?

    A) KdB + Lukaku > Mane(TC) + Firmino -4

    B) KdB > Mane(TC)

    C) KdB + Lukaku > Salah(TC) + Mitro/Zaha -4

    Thanks!

      I'd go B.

Lukaku could be a nice differential for the last couple of GW's - it doesn't get any better than hud, CAR.

Hard to answer. I wouldn't sign Lukaku now, but if I owned I'd consider holding him.

    A. KDB + trippier -> Mane + TAA -4
    B. KDB + Kolasinac -> Mane + TAA -4
    C. Pogba KDB + trippier to Salah, Redmond (will start deulofeu) + TAA -8
    D. Pogba KDB + tripper to mane Bernardo Silva and TAA -8
    E. Lacazette KDB + tripper to firmino mane and TAA -8

League leader is 12 ahead of me, I need to triple captain a pool mid.

OR 1.3k, with TC left. Thoughts appreciated:

Currently on Mane (TC) but not sure if he can be trusted. Gut says to go with Salah and go all out attack against that piss poor Huddersfield side. Surely 3-4 goals in that game with both chasing that Golden Boot. Problem is that I don't have Salah. My options are:

    A) Doherty > TAA & keep Mane TC

    B) -4 Gray, Sterling > Long, Salah (TC)
    C) -4 Eriksen (or Son), Aguero > Rashford, Salah (TC)

I have no problems taking a hit to best utilise the TC chip, but both options mean removing one of Sterling or Aguero- which only a Madman would do! (although Aguero has locked a little off recently).

Option A seems too much of a luxury transfer to me. TAA may be rotated while Doherty always has attacking threat. Also always prefer the attacking option.

Thoughts on Rashford? Hudders and Cardiff last 2 fixtures - United really need to win their remaining games to snatch 4th spot.

Must captain choice this week. Salah of course.. I get why the mane brigade, mainly because most here now dont own Salah due to late WC and dont have budget to get him in.. Mane has been on a bit of form but Salah is the way to go vs Huddersfield.. If milner doesnt play he is also on penalties and rearing for golden boot..

Need Salah to secure lead in mini leagues. 40 pts lead in two cash leagues

    A. Aguero, Jota to 4.6m (bench), Salah -4
    B. Eriksen, Jota, Tripier to Salah, 4.3, 3.9m (bench)-8

Rivals have Eriksen and Salah but not Aguero

Probably but see Mane as an equally good option.

Salah 22% owned in top 10k, perfect time to use TC on him with that low ownership to climb into top 10k right ?

If close to top 10k I think that is a massive differential
