Is it worth paying extra to have Digne over Coleman?

The release of Fantasy Premier League’s price list for 2019/20 could see Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) become the go-to Everton defender over the summer.

Lucas Digne (£6.0m) had originally been the target for the Toffees’ appealing early-season fixtures, but many were a little surprised that he received such a hefty price-tag.

In this latest Members article, we weigh up the two Everton full-backs against each other to see which can provide the best value from Gameweek 1 of the new campaign.

Matt Ritchie for newcastle is down as a defender when he plays midfield, am I missing something as he doesn't seem to be in many people's teams? 2 goals and 8 assists last season plus will be picking up clean sheet bonus' looks a good shout to me.

Yep, surprised me too. Apparently he played wing back last season. Could be a good option, but who knows what the future holds for Newcastle......

Mendy not a guaranteed start. Would rather have Laporte.

    Re Coleman over Digne.

Everton have let Jonjoe Kenny on loan to Schalke for a season.
We're in the market for a right back to challenge Coleman who will turn 31 in October.

One thing from last season was his form improved when Richarlison played in front of him. Where as Digne was returning whether he had Walcott, Richarlison or Bernard in front of him.

Then there's the pens. Siggy missed a few, if he does that again I can see them going to Digne.
I say this as watching him last season he started sporadically on corners, rarely had free kicks. As it became evident that he could put a ball in he started overtaking free kicks from Siggy. It wouldn't be a surprise to a lot of us if Digne stepped up for a pen.

Digne is firmly Evertons left back, cover is Baines on a one year extension.
Coleman has no cover unless Centre half Mason Holgate doesn't get a move or loan out.
So we're expecting a right back to materialise.

I like the article but needs to considered in the wider context of Coleman's age and Everton shopping about for a replacement (we replaced Baines far too late imo).
