The final fixture of Gameweek 1 takes place at 16:30 BST as Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.

There weren’t too many shocks upon the release of the teamsheets but perhaps the headline news was that both Mason Mount (£6.0m) and Ross Barkley (£6.0m) – rather than one or the other – start together in Frank Lampard’s first Premier League starting XI as Chelsea manager.

Christian Pulisic (£7.5m) is the man to make way, with the USA international dropping to the bench.

Pedro (£7.0m) completes the trio of attacking midfielders lining up behind lone striker Tammy Abraham (£7.0m).

N’Golo Kante (£5.0m) is only fit enough for a place on the bench, while Willian (£7.0m) and Antonio Rudiger (£6.0m) miss out.

Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (both £5.5m) are handed their competitive United debuts but Daniel James (£6.0m) is only a substitute.

Andreas Pereira (£5.0m) instead gets the nod and will line up in ‘the hole’, with Jesse Lingard (£6.5m) on the right flank and Marcus Rashford (£8.5m) stationed on the opposite wing.

An ‘out of position’ Anthony Martial (£7.5m) is reportedly set to lead the line.

Budget FPL forward Mason Greenwood (£4.5m) is on the bench, meanwhile.

Chelsea XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Emerson, Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount, Barkley, Pedro, Abraham.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, McTominay, Pereira, Pogba, Lingard, Rashford, Martial.

Barkley looked a real threat until being subbed off(undeservedly), and Chelsea were even worse after that. Think, Frank might be one of those managers who has his favourites in the dressing room.

It’s frustrating, he looked their best player before he was subbed. Already planning an exit with hjm, Lamps seems to have his favorites and the team looked awful today

Getting very different perspective on the Chelsea subreddit, but I do think they're a little off-par with their evaluations.

I absolutely agree with you RE: Mount being a favourite. It's very unfortunate he plays in the same role as Ross.

      - - - - - -

I think the actual reason Barkley was taken off was because Lampard did not want to disrupt Mount's game (who was playing alright in the CAM role). Obviously Barkley wasn't able to shine as much on the wing, but that's because he's not a winger.

Lampard wanted Pulisic as an impact sub to create a few more runs & change it up. Change things, he sure did. Pulisic came on and was pretty anonymous. Lampard's substitution ruined any rhythm we had. Barkley had actually made a few decent little tackes here & there; contributed defensively. Hardly any of that from Pulisic.

In reality, Pedro should have been substituted - but Pulisic hadn't played on the wing in pre-season yet. Therefore, sacrificial lamb Barkley. Barkley gets a rest because he's important for the Liverpool game (now even more-so, since we don't want to get humiliated a second time); then the chaos began to ensue.

        You reckon ?

It's no worse than people using OPTA stats to get an advantage.

I always worked out who my cash rivals had brought in and it took time. A lot longer than loading up members page and picking what OPTA tells you to

Totally different. Using stats to decide who YOU will get vs using numbers to try to deduce who SOMEONE ELSE has got. The transfers are supposed to be blind until the deadline passes and this was a loophole that allows defensive play and favours those with more time on their hands.

Can't agree mate . What if someone can't afford members . Then you are paying for an advantage.

I know it is..im on about stats in general, not here. if you are saying the points are no advantage but being able to work out others transfers is because it benefits them with "time on their hands" is then I'm not sure how you think one is fair but not the other

But points are an advantage, I don't understand you. I just think it makes it a better game if you have no clues about the oppo's transfers. Simple concept.

Emerson was one of our better players. Had a fair few shots, but wouldn't touch him with the current state of our defense. (Not just due to this game, in pre-season we have conceded loads too.)

Perhaps him being advanced caused a few problems at the back, but I think that's a formation issue. Azpi was also pushing fairly high at times & that doesn't help our CBs in the slightest.

Great Win for Manchester United. Chelsea a bit unlucky to not score in the first half. But in second half, United killed it !!
FPL wise, Rashford looks great tbh. Managers boy, homegrown so will always get support from Fans, on Pens (!!). Maybe reverse OOP though.
Martial on tye other hand looks lazy (as usually he is 😀 ), but 7.5m Midfielder playing as CF for United. Hmmm.

The lure to take hits & get United players in is real. Great that we have Wolves next gw. Can wait for a gw & do a mini WC to get 1/2

Very Happy with the result !!

I actually agree. Could see Chelsea getting a reality-check today, (lol, still had Barkley) - but don't disagree that at least one or two will be good value.

I'm actually a bit scored of the United defense. Looked into DDG in pre-season, but ultimately this game & half a new back line put me off. AWB & Maguire looked great. Oh well!

Sounds right. Going to be a lot of 100+ scores especially with Pogba and Rashford today and a Man U clean sheet.

    Dubravka?
    Laporte - VVD - Wan
    Longstaff? - Sterling - Ndombele?? - Foden???
Rashford - Joelinton????? - Kane (TC)

My god I might as well just delete my team (Yes he is a Newcastle fan)

Why - this should give you confidence.

There will literally be tens of thousands of teams like this in the top 100k - we will be hundreds of points ahead of these teams by the end of the season

    Some tough games next week.

    Pope vs Arsenal
    KWP vs Man City
    Kane vs Man City
    Sterling vs Spurs
    Perez vs Chelsea

Should I let it roll and save FT?

    Pope
    Robbo VVD Digne KWP
    Salah Sterling McGinn Perez
    King Kane

    Button, Dendoncker, Greenwood, Lundstram
