The final fixture of Gameweek 1 takes place at 16:30 BST as Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.

There weren’t too many shocks upon the release of the teamsheets but perhaps the headline news was that both Mason Mount (£6.0m) and Ross Barkley (£6.0m) – rather than one or the other – start together in Frank Lampard’s first Premier League starting XI as Chelsea manager.

Christian Pulisic (£7.5m) is the man to make way, with the USA international dropping to the bench.

Pedro (£7.0m) completes the trio of attacking midfielders lining up behind lone striker Tammy Abraham (£7.0m).

N’Golo Kante (£5.0m) is only fit enough for a place on the bench, while Willian (£7.0m) and Antonio Rudiger (£6.0m) miss out.

Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (both £5.5m) are handed their competitive United debuts but Daniel James (£6.0m) is only a substitute.

Andreas Pereira (£5.0m) instead gets the nod and will line up in ‘the hole’, with Jesse Lingard (£6.5m) on the right flank and Marcus Rashford (£8.5m) stationed on the opposite wing.

An ‘out of position’ Anthony Martial (£7.5m) is reportedly set to lead the line.

Budget FPL forward Mason Greenwood (£4.5m) is on the bench, meanwhile.

Chelsea XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Emerson, Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount, Barkley, Pedro, Abraham.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, McTominay, Pereira, Pogba, Lingard, Rashford, Martial.

Can anyone shed some light regarding the FF website....
1.Why you cannot see the free hit chip unless you go deep into wildcard transfer
2.Why can I not see the number of transfers another manager makes
3.Why you cannot see the numerical value of your subs bench without clicking on an individual
4.Does anyone else think that new is not necessarily better because this new site is poor in
comparison to what we enjoyed before.

Am I missing something with the mobile app? Why doesn't it show players scores, I have to go into List to view the individual scores. Surely if there's one thing that should be displayed it's points. That's the whole purpose of the game!

    Rashford on pens??

Surely 8.5 is a good price for a top team first pick striker on pens

    Am I missing something?

He is. It's just an awkward price point. Vardy is probably a better pick. Wilson, Jiménez and Jota may be too.

Martial scored one in pre-season. It seems to that whoever wins the penalty takes at the moment. I don't think we can say for sure Rashford has them just yet.

I would say hold until after the Wolves game. It's going to be a really difficult game.

I need some help with my team, I got only 65 points because of some dumb decisions and need some advice.
    Gunn (Pope)
TAA - VVD - Zinchenko - Cathcart (Lundstram)
Salah - KDB - Fraser - Barkley (Dendoncker)
    Auba - Wilson (Greenwood)
    My questions are:
Is it worth shifting funds to attempt to get Sterling?
Any alternatives to Cathcart, not convinced by Watford?
Is Wilson worth it at 8M?

I'm trying to resist the urge to kneejerk but slipping behind in my minileague is stressing me out.
Thanks for any feedback you choose to offer, feel free to point out a detail I could have missed!

PS: Yes I started Gunn instead of Pope.

If he's on penalties, he's a good choice. I just don't want to miss the price rise and then not be able to afford him. Wolves away is a tougher fixture, though ...

85 points. Still considering Wildcard. Are prices likely to be locked till Friday like last 2 years I.e, no immediate risers?

Fixtures for my players this week.
The impact of de bruyne, martial, rashford
Adrian if Alisson is confirmed out for 6+ weeks
Would like Zinchenko, easy swap to Cancelo
Perez, Deeney, Wilson and Jota did little to convince.
Lucas Moura only safe for 1 more week.
I think a Rico, Lundstram, Dendoncker rotation is possible for 1 slot with Wickham on the bench.

                Wan Bissaka Zinchenko VVD Lundstram
                Salah Sterling De Bruyne Martial

Almost every reason you have here could have changed by GW3

Wildcard is not a Free Hit. Each player's GW1 score will not be multiplied by 38 to give their final score by the end of the season.

Are you selling because the players you carefully selected for GW1 and beyond for various reasons (I'm guessing after 4+ weeks of thinking and tinkering) are injured, suspended or crystal clear rotation risks? Or are you selling because of how well a player you don't own played IN ONE GAME?

Yes, and paying too much attention to them last season crashed me from 5k GW1 to a rank I don't even want to remember... With an early wildcard that looked like it paid off initially, but absolutely didn't long term.

                  1. _Greg
                    • 16 Years

Early wildcard nearly always pays off for me, once in 13 seasons it didn't. In the early days some of these players would have risen 0.3m in a week, it was a different game then. Very unlikely to see many 0.2 risers these days, there is that danger though FPL change the system back to what is was like before! You have to use the wildcard before gameweek 21 no matter what, if you have the data now then could be good to use now. I'm not definitely going to wildcard, but it's a strong consideration. This first week if I hadn't of got sterling and I needed - 8 to get him in, would be immediate wildcard no question.

Things change....everyone focusing on at BOU, Perez/ LEI, Siggy / EVE, Moura punt etc etc....none of which are looking great...

Price changes now are almost equivalent to 0.5m increases...

Why not, if you think you can jump on form / trend, even at an very early stage...

Don't want to do a (-8) so only option seems to be TAA -> 4.0

        So Zouma > Kelly
        Perez > McGinn
        King > Rashford

Picked up 96 points week 1

Cant believe I’m considering knee jerking but have to ask:

KDB, Auba > Sterling, Rashford ?

    1. PogChamp

Aubu will surely be in the running for top scorer again. Risky selling him.

    2. AndyCook
      7 years, 28 days ago

If I was making a team from scratch I’d want B because I would captain either in A, however there is next to nothing in it and if you have Salah to captain then A is probably better..

      1. AndyCook
        7 years, 28 days ago

        Wouldn’t captain either in A*

I think Sterling is a must-have. So even if Robbo 100% has to be the guy to sacrifice... I’d still do it.

Have Calvert Lewin and Fraser. Would like to swap to Jiménez and a £6.0 midfielder. Swap now and take points hit? Or wait to GW3? Worried price rises/falls may snooker me if I wait...?

I personally wouldn't take hits this early. Fraser is fine, don't know about Calver-Lewin. How's your bench?

      1. ReMane
        • 7 Years

Dendonker, Lundstram, Walker Peters on bench. Otherwise strong team. Need to change Walker Peters soon too.
Thanks for the advice - think I need to stop tendency to tinker rather than wait for 2 transfers. Justified it last year by telling myself I was beating price increases/decreases.

I know the feeling. It's GW1 so the difference in % is high between players. Planning ahead is good though. Last year I shot myself in the foot by taking too many hits. Especially early. One game isn't a clear indicator of form yet imo.

Wow, can't believe how risk averse people are here to early transfers, they've just got to be smart.

Wood > Barnes is a stupid transfer. Robertson > Dunk is a stupid transfer. But people aren't suggesting that.

Moura > martial isn't a stupid transfer as you gambled and could have had an origi and everybody would have been saying how clever. Martial's stats/positioning all suggest a fair chance at doing well. It's not like he hauled, you're looking at potential. Bringing in sterling isn't a stupid transfer as you'll probably want him gw3/4 for a number of weeks to captain which could be much more than +/-4 points difference if you believe he's the best option. Its OK to admit you got it wrong - but do it based on future points not past points.

I will say shipping out Bournemouth seems premature but understand if you've got several to shift ahead of gw3.

0.1m team value now is worth nearly 2 points in the long run in terms of available points.

(btw I probably won't make a transfer, but to rule out transfer making because you're happy with your own team isnt always great advice)

Completely agree on Moura to Martial, he was mainly a one week punt anyway and still got more than Fraser so far who was my two weeker. I'll consider doing Fraser to Martial early if he looks like rising otherwise I'll leave it.

McGinn by far. I switched between him and Grealish about 6 times but eventually went for Grealish. Getting him by next week. Only question is if I swap H. Wilson or Grealish.

Like a player dropped into a team he had never seen before. I wouldn’t be in a rush to get him in but he will oust the boys who played today quickly regardless. I think he’s one you let score points before you jump on
