The Scoutcast is back for Gameweek 2 and will broadcast today at a new earlier time.

For the rest of the 2019/20 season, the show will run from 20:00 to 21:00 UK time on Tuesday evenings (where possible) on our official YouTube channel.

This is to ensure fewer late nights both for our Scoutcasters and our viewers too!

The Scoutcast made history ahead of Gameweek 1 as we overtook Last of the Summer Wine for total episodes.

The famous sitcom ran for a total of 295 episodes between 1973 and 2010.

Last week, we the Scoutcast’s episode count went to 296 and we were joined by one of the show’s long-time guest Granville.

After such a momentous episode, we felt like making history for a second week running.

Ahead of Gameweek 2, we are joined by founder of Fantasy Football Community Holly Shand, who will be the first female guest on the Scoutcast.

The maths teacher and mother of one has only been playing Fantasy Premier League a short time but already has an impressive record.

In five seasons playing the game, she has two top 10,000 finishes and has already started the 2019/20 with 94 points scored in Gameweek 1.

Holly will join regulars Joe, Luke and Az to discuss all the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 2.

That includes what to do with potential Harry Kane and Anthony Martial bandwagons as well as how to handle our transfers in the coming days.

As ever, you can watch live on our YouTube channel but after the broadcast is over, the Scoutcast will be available on the usual platforms.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 1

Hi - any advice would be appreciated.

So in my draft league (for big money), I have Matip.

Do we think it's worth keeping hold of him now that it looks like Gomez has taken his place? Or do we expect Matip to partner VVD in defence and share game time equally with Gomez?

I was thinking of switching to Emerson who is available in my draft, as he looked super attacking against United over the weekend and I think he will overtake Alonso this year as Chelsea's main left back.

    Cheers.

I'd normally suggest to wait as Matip might share time with Gomez especially as defence with Gomez hasn't looked great so far but I think Emerson looked extremely promising so if he's available, get him in asap.

You could also wait for tomorrow night. If Matip plays, I'd expect Gomez back for the weekend

Martial doesn't look likely to rise until Friday, maybe Thursday the earliest. Definitely not tonight.

Any consideration in rotating Pope (ARS away)?

Who came in for Trossard last week, and what score?
I think you can give Trossard a chance when the Manager doesn't have away considerations.

If Trossard doesn't play, then you're eyeing that second bench spot, wondering if he'll be activated.
Most setup expecting no bench use, this early.

I have a non playing 2md keeper in button...

I had Greenwood and has single point of the bench last week

This week bench order is Gilbert rico greenw and hoping Gilbert features....tross out if he doesn't start....thanks

Set and forget keeper , no point in wasting a transfer . Will zlmost certainly get save points anyway.
Trossard might not start but one the defs should.

      Trent

TAA offers better value per minute but also more rotation threat, if you have a strong bench I'd go with TAA, if not Robertson.

If TAA plays and Gomez doesn't play tomorrow, TAA is quite risky to start vs Southampton on Saturday.

Who knows. Could be Jesus with sterling up top. My guess would be a front 3 of Mahrez, Aguero and Bilva

      Bilva Aguero Sterling

Most likely front 3. Could even take Dilva’s role in the cm role.

      Imagine he starts though.

      1. Balls of Steel
        • 10 Years

I would be inclined to think the same, another likely scenario would be a mid 3 of rodri, KDB, Bilva, with Mahrez, Sterling, Kun in front of them

Anyone looking at Juan Foyth when he gets back? I reckon he could nail down that right-back spot at Spurs, very impressive there for Argentina at this summers Copa America and a clear Pochettino favourite. Excellent value at £5.0m imo.

They certainly were. My mid teen years were great for music . I have plenty of punk albums which now I can't /won't play and it seems rather stranger to think that some of them are over 43+years old.
At least now you get access to virtually any track but it's not quite the same as going into a record shop and looking through the albums.

          +1 SSSSSssaturday Niiiighhht

My college roommate is from northern New Jersey. When the Bay City Rollers came to America for a brief time in the 70s, they stayed in his house (before his folks eventually bought it). Weird, right?

Think my FPL has a glitch, already did a transfer but still shows 1 free transfer.

Anyway, made some risky last minute changes removing Sterling for Mane, Daniel James for Neves and Van Dijk for Gomez, Heaton for Allison and now my team is in shambles. Ranked 4.9mil, worst I've ever been in FPL (never even been out of top 1 mil at worst).

I'll keep it short, do you reckon this travesty needs a wildcard, or can it do with 1 glitchy free transfer?

    Heaton
    Lundstraam, Digne, Zouma, Gomez
Barkley, De Bruyne (V), Sigurdsson, Mane
    Wilson (C), Abraham

    Pope, Zinchenko, Neves, Adams

Think my FPL has a glitch.

    Heaton, Zinchenko

I read somewhere here that that glitch will be corrected and you'll have hits as usual so be careful.

lol of course it will be corrected - I can't believe people are thinking they are going to get away with it without hits being ultimately applied.

I'm not thinking that haha, which is why I asked about does this need a wildcard.

Yeah sorry mate - I was more referring to a few I have heard if who have made multiple transfers already thinking they will genuinely not be debited the hits. I wouldn't WC yet in your shoes - fix with a hit or two over the coming weeks if needed 🙂

I imagine the automated "piss off" response from FPL Towers has been drafted already.

I genuinely think that GW2 could be good GW for you, good fixtures for most of your players and they are capable of scoring good points. I would play Zinchenko btw.

Gudmundsson next few weeks when fixtures improve, Dan James if he's got game time, Pereyra may do business if Watford woke up ...
