The latest episode of the Scoutcast is about to start on our YouTube channel.

You can watch the show from 8pm to 9pm BST.

This week, Joe is joined by Az and David to discuss the key Fantasy Premier League talking points ahead of Gameweek 3.

The next round of action is an important one for Fantasy managers as many will be wielding their two free transfers.

Already bandwagons have begun to form, so our Scoutcasters will be discussing how best to approach these.

Naturally, Teemu Pukki (£6.7m) is a prime example after he scored a hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

However, we will also be examining Liverpool assets after a lacklustre start to the season at both ends of the pitch.

If this were a mid season suspension then everyone would be saying hes right back when the suspension is lifted. There is no reason to believe its a different case now. Non-owners pretend they dont think he will start though, probably to keep others from bringing him in.

    Thoughts please

    1FT
    Ryan (Button)
    Vvd, ROBERTSON, Digne, Soyuncu (Lundstram)
    Sterling, Salah, Kdb, PEREZ, (ROBINSON)
    KING, Jota (Greenwood)

Really not sure what to do. Players in CAPS are potential issues (along with having no united or spurs players)

    A) Save FT
    B) Robbo -> AWB (frees up funds for other transfers next week)
    C) Robbo & Perez -> AWB & Martial -4 (likely to give me 0.4 better team value)
    D) Robbo & Perez & King -> AWB & Martial & Pukki -8 (likely to give me 0.6 better team value)

I started off thinking A and the more I look at it the more I’m leaning towards C or D. The price rises are too hard to ignore

C with Zinchenko instead of AWB or do King > Pukki first... Liverpool could get 1-2 cs in the next 3, but Virgil should be a good cover anyway.

Tldr, too mean to read really! After a poor gw 2 and at 356k overall, I'm really happy to be only 70 points behind the overall leader. Feels like everyone has a chance this year and it could be the year of the striker.

      Find more cash

      But with 12:

      Cantwell/ Dendoncker 4.5
      Pukki 6.7

      Leaves you some change too

There is nothing below 6.5 in terms of strikers and there is nothing below 5.6 in midfield (other than Cantwell & Dendoncker) so it’s almost a no brainer

    A) Zinchenko (starting 2 of Lundstram/Dunk/Soyunku/Dendoncker)

I just want to see a bit more football before taking the plunge.

I think I strayed too far away from the template in truth.

I don’t know whether it’s the right thing to do, but I’m still believing that Liverpool will defend better and Leicester will get more goals as I’m heavily invested in both teams.

It’s a VERY long season - yes it’s fun to do well now and use up all your chips and brag about your rank, but in 20 weeks you’ll be having no fun at all

There will almost certainly be better times to use free hit later in the season in blank gameweeks. Free hit in the blanks resulted in huge points gains last year

    2fts. Does this makes sense?

    VvD + Wilson > Emerson + Rashford.

Not reeally, comes down to personal gut feeling

Fixtures: ARS + MCI > nor + CRY
Underlying Stats: Emerson > VvD, Rash > Wilson

I'm looking for an opposing argument that will convince me otherwise.

My alternative is to follow the bandwagon and go for Pukki and bring Martial in for Bilva/Moura (both of which have excellent fixtures)

I did Trent - Emerson to fund Bsilva - KDB. If your happy with them in the long run then yes go for it. Im holding wilson for another 3gws.

Oposing arguement could be chelsea defence not improving and martial outscoring rashford as hes more central

I agree with that. Defensively I don't trust Chelsea, but they're playing 2x promoted teams next. Everyone has Pukki (I don't) so a nice CS would be a huge differential. Plus Emerson has attacking returns in him. All the stats point to it. Plus he's passed my eye test too. I'm sort of hoping Kante helps the defensive side out too.

I would prefer Martial, but I don't feel ready to ditch my midfielders yet (Sterling, Salah, Bilva, Moura, Trossard). I'll probably do (Moura > Martial) or (Trossard > Trezeguet/McGinn/Grealish) next week. Rashford protects not having Martial to a certain extent and longer term I think I'd quite like both.

Is playing 5 at the back a bad idea?

I think it's fine until you wildcard. I've gone 5atb in gw 1 and 2.

Surprised Mane so low on captain's poll (1.5%). He's in brilliant form and scored 18 goals at home last season. Mo owner, of course.

Kane and Sterling simply better options this week than either of the Liverpool lads

People just vote for who they'll captain, and most don't own him.

Most people (including myself most of the time frankly) will just vote for a player that in their team and Mane will suffer in that poll as most here own Salah over him imo.

This ownership inertia really holds me back. Wonder will VAR reduce peno chances, feel Mane is actually the better player, and knows it.

I really disagree that Mane is the better player.

Fair enough, just wish I had him instead of Mo, and a few Bob in the bank. For me, Mane has a chip on his shoulder and feeds off it, which is the hallmark of a great player.

On WC and can’t decide whether to crowbar in KDB or stick with a strong defence. Comes down to:

    A) KDB, 4.5, 4.5
    B) Ceballos, TAA, Digne

    Any preference?

    b) Fraser, Perez > KdB, McGinn (-4)
