Everton’s popular attacking assets have underwhelmed Fantasy Premier League managers so far this season.

After two matches, they have scored just once, only Crystal Palace finding the net fewer times than the Toffees at this stage.

Perhaps we should not be too surprised to see Marco Silva’s men struggle in front of goal at this stage.

During their pre-season campaign, they scored just three goals in seven matches, with Richarlison (£8.0m) the only key figure missing for most of it.

One was registered against Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks, while Monaco and Mainz were the only other teams to concede against Everton.

The Toffees drew blanks in four of their summer friendlies, against FC Sion, Wigan Athletic, Sevilla and Werder Bremen.

Of those who found the back of the net, Joe Williams and Lewis Gibson are not first-team regulars, the former now a permanent Wigan player, while Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) is the only summer goal-scorer to have played in either Premier League match so far this season.

Accordingly, ahead of a Gameweek 3 trip to Aston Villa, Fantasy managers might be looking to move on their Everton attackers.

We have assessed the underlying statistics from their first two matches of the campaign to find out if the Toffees have simply been unlucky not to score more often, or if there are some tangible reasons for concern.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

    Last piece og the wc-puzzle.
    Who will score more?

    A) Pukki +0.7
    B) Haller
    C) Deulofeu +1.0

(For now I dont spend the extra cash anyways. )

      A, I'm a big fan of 0.7.

Think Pukki is essential on WC. Would not be surprised if he scores tomorrow doesn't look like a player that needs a lot of chances.

Price changes have been harsh this season. Lost value in Fraser, Wilson and now Perez.

Should I change that next gameweek and be aggressive? or patience is still the key?

      1. ZeBestee

        7 years, 22 hours ago

        I am keeping Perez.

For Wilson and Fraser, at least one should go, or both. It's just that I was caught early on and I couldn't make up my mind who to bring in. Also waiting for pressers to get an idea of the likes of Son starting. I also have a feeling Pukki is not a priority for the next 3, so I am basically looking for other options with better fixtures. Strange really but sometimes you have to go with your guts.

        1. Pacer.
          • 12 Years
          7 years, 22 hours ago

Wilson is Mr Reliable. He j should be bottom of your list of culprits

    2. @persecuted_by_mods
      7 years, 22 hours ago

There is no tactic that works other than getting the right players that score points so suggesting patience or aggression wouldn't make sense

Haven't been too impressed by Perez so far and Fraser seems off the boil too. Wilson has done okay, just been outshone by the likes of Pukki

    3. Catastrophe
      • 15 Years
      7 years, 22 hours ago

Either aggressive or patient can work. Just got to make the right transfers 😉 all good players but Bournemouth just don't look right. Albeit only 2 games played!

      1. ZeBestee
        • 12 Years
        7 years, 22 hours ago

Yeah right, I am also intending to keep Pool double. Things change in FPL, but we kept faith in Pool defence for the entirety of preseason for a sole reason that they are the best, did they go bad all of sudden?

        1. Pacer.
          • 12 Years
          7 years, 22 hours ago

They don't need to go bad all of a sudden. They went up in price. They only need 6 slightly off games and people get a jump on your both in terms of cash and points. There's a balance between sticking by your convictions and stubbornness. I'd say we are one more game away from a landslide sale

          1. ZeBestee
            • 12 Years
            7 years, 22 hours ago

I have a feeling sticking with 2 of them is a conviction. There is no way Robbo and TAA have gone bad after 2 gameweeks. Last season they were a class act, getting double digit hauls in many games. I will stick with them, amid the next difficult game against Arsenal, they are still the best defenders in the game imo.

Agree. The only thing that's really changed is the injury to Alisson. The lack of confidence (not misplaced) in Adrian has hampered them. But that might pass even before Alisson returns, assuming with a week's rest, Adrian's ankle is 100% now.

              1. ZeBestee

                7 years, 21 hours ago

I agree, they should defend much better now after a weeks rest. The midweek Super Cup was a 120 min match, not easy to play again after 2 days. Cheers Andy.

Agree, there's no hard-and-fast rule and so much comes down to gut feelings. My only thought is that it's better to save a tran to have 2FT to give you more flexibility when you decide it's time for a shake-up.

one of the toughest part of this game is knowing when to be aggressive and when to stick

a couple hits early in the season could work out especially if it involves losing/gaining TV

It really is indeed. Managers have been making changes right, left and centre, and have driven the prices up and down very fast. I will stick to patience for now.

Same with me. Couldn't decide on getting rid of Barkley and Fraser earlier. Lost 0.2. However, I believe I was able to make my moves wisely. Wanted to go all out for Son, but was priced out because of the fall. So, Son is going to decide if my patience was wort it or not.

It's always like that with expensive players, reason why i didn't have 7.0-9.0m players. A bit harsh on Wilson, but Perez has deserved it though. Play for points not for value

B because the difference in Mina and Digne will be wider than TAA and VVD. Digne shouldn't be too far behind Trent because he can score goals too. That said Mina has decent attacking threat according to some

Nope, not getting it. 'Cover', 'coverage' - completely pointless concept imo. Just get who you think will get the most points.

For example, I decided the Everton defence looked good to me. Bollox to 'coverage' - I got three and they've served me extremely well.

            1. Greek Flair
              • 10 Years
              7 years, 22 hours ago

It’s quite literally not bollox when it comes to defender clean sheets which are a shared stat.

If every single member of my mini league has Robbo or TAA and I don’t

Putting in Adrian means that if Liverpool cleansheet I will match their premium defender scores (assists aside)

I have 1 free transfer left + 0.4 in the bank. So I could do a straight swap for Martial. But I don't know what to do. I would like to play Moura but it seems like he won't be in the starting 11.

Had a look at Deulofeu after Deeney's injury news broke out.

Really like the look of Watford's next 3 (WHU, new, ARS) compared to Burnley's (wol, LIV, bha).

Thinking of doing with Deulofeu over Barnes on wildcard. Thoughts?

Welbeck could take Deeney's place. Don't know how it is going to affect Deulofeu. My impression is they might both want to take the glory and take chances on their own. Could turn both ways trying to go for glory!

With Perez having a shockingly bad start to the season, is it time to sell? And is he worth taking a -4?

Give him one more week rather than take a hit.

      I’ve sold

Watched him full game against Chelsea and against wolves, the guy was a ghost. Wasn’t even getting the ball let alone a chance. Seems to be playing RM, rather than RW as hoped

If you still have him his price has fallen so rather keep, see how he does this weekend and if he does not at least get a goal then sell.

    G2G on this wildcard chaps?
    Pope.
    Montoya, AWB, Walker.
    McGinn, Martial, Mane, Sterling.
    Ings, Pukki, Kane.

    Heaton, Ceballos, Soyuncu, Ludstrom.

Not sure whether to Captain Martial, Kane or Sterling.

Do I downgrade Ings to Wickham and use the 1.5 to upgrade McGinn or Ceballos.

    Cheers!

Interresting, you go Kane, Ings, Pukki up front, I go Rashford + 4,5, 4,5 in my WC. Three playing bench players is what you get by that, great!

Thanks buddy, if Son starts this week may consider downgrading Kane to get him in.

Spurs midfield is crowded at the moment, specially when Alli coming back. I went KDB.

Dunno about that but I'm mightily relieved Jota came off for a breather. If he shows signs of fatigue again on Sunday I'll have to lose him.

Yeah these campaigns can be gruelling, was gonna get him in myself but Europa made me think otherwise

    Who to start?
    A) Montoya
    B) Lundstram*

    * Main rival in H2H tie has Lund and will almost certainly start him.

    Thanks.

Between Burn and Montoya for me.

Don't have him and I'm no slave of stats, but Montoya as an attacking wingback spends a lot of time in the final third, he's in a team that's made a stronger start and has the easier opponent.
