Joe is joined by Karam and Tom from Who Got the Assist? for the latest episode of the Scoutcast tonight.

You can watch it on our YouTube channel from 8pm BST to 9pm BST.

As the Champions League is back on our screens, this episode will overlap with the European action and we will try to bring you regular updates from Manchester City and Tottenham’s matches.

Episode 303 marks a slight changing of the guard when it comes to the captaincy.

After a rotation of Liveprool and Manchester City players in the early rounds of the season, Arsenal are starting to creep into the equation some more.

What impact this should have on our transfers and armband decisions will be the task of Joe, Karam and Tom tonight.

After some impressive statistics in recent weeks, Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) commands some of our time as we discuss if he’s worth signing.

There will also be time to have a weekly look at how defenders are getting on at both ends of the spectrum as well as the success of assets from newly-promoted teams.

Lessons Learned from Gameweek 7

2 FTs and not much else on. Torn between these moves:

    A) KDB to Mahrez
    B) Digne to Guilbert. Start Lundstram over him and play Cantwell over KDB.

if u get digne for so long, might as well keep him & do A

Well now... tonight's games were somewhat informative, and more to come tomorrow and Thursday.

    Currently set up as:

    Pope
    TAA, Robertson, Diop, AWB
    Ceballos, Sterling, KdB, James
    Pukki (C), Wilson

    - Lundstram, Vardy, Ravel

The 5-0 Vardy Party, the injuries to KdB and benching of Sterling, full use of Aguero, etc. all informs my coming decisions... I don't mind 5-2-3 or 5-3-2 this weekend. I have a transfer but do not want to use it.

    1. FC Hakkebøf
      7 years, 24 days ago

Whatever you do, don't bench Vardy.

      1. JohnnyCroat
        7 years, 24 days ago

Yeah, considering running the 2 Pool FBs against him since I could almost be assured of attacking returns from all 3 in that match...

Anyone rate Jorginho as a 5th mid at least for the decent fixture run. Pens and some assists and looks nailed even with Kante back.

With KDB likely out, it forces me to play 2 out of these:

    Rico (ars)
    Greenwood (new)
    Dendoncker (mci)
    Soyuncu (liv)

Considering that I’m wildcarding next week, is it wise to sell KDB + Dendoncker for a hit?*

    *Mahrez/Yarmolenko in
*Would lose 0.3 on KDB (0.2 if/when he drops)

        1. FC Hakkebøf

          Rico + Greenwood

That is why you have a bench,...

          1. FC Hakkebøf

or Dendoncker for the safe 2 pts

      Why not WC this week?

      1. FC Hakkebøf
        7 years, 24 days ago

More time to tinker during, IB, high chance of injuries etc

        1. ryacoo
          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          7 years, 24 days ago

But you can pack the bench with Cantwell, Lundstram, etc. to give you cover (and you'll have a FT).

I don't think I'd want to field 2 of those options personally but a hit before a WC always seems a waste as there's only that one week for it to pay off.

          1. FC Hakkebøf
            7 years, 24 days ago

One hit now, if two injuries occurs during IB that could lead to another hit needed (unless playing he is playing his bench).

Team structure could also change drastically depending on the injuries

  6. FC Hakkebøf
    7 years, 24 days ago

GTG? No cover if two in the XI is rested / benched

    Pope
    TAA Tomori Lundstram Kelly
    Sterling (C) Son Mount
    Aguero Tammy Pukki
    ___
    Button; KDB** Hayden** Soy

Even though I dont have De Bruyne. Him getting injured really ruined my plans.

    Pope - Button
    TAA - Otamendi - Lundstram - Montoya - Diop
    Salah - Sterling - Mount - Cantwell - Dendonker
    Aguero - Pukki - Barnes
    2 FT - 0.4

Was planning on Sterling to De Bruyne so I could upgrade Barnes to Abraham. I wanted rid of Barnes but now I can't really swap him for the player I want.

So would almost just do Montoya -> Soyuncu just because I think he's great value for the upcoming weeks even though I wouldn't play him this week against Liverpool then do Sterling + Barnes -> De Bruyne + Abraham next week. The only other move I see is Aguero to Auba then Barnes to Abraham.

Do you see any other moves I could. I want to get rid of Barnes but I need to downgrade somewhere to get funds to get a forward I'd actually want.

Sometimes it's just the right move... hating having Barnes for another week though. Should of really done Montoya to Soyunca last week though considering Diop was likely never to get a clean sheet against Bournemouth then just potentially taking a hit this week

        1. FC Hakkebøf
          7 years, 24 days ago

Playing at home to Everton is not the worst of the worst. He might come good. Everyone has a dry spell every now and then. There is not really anyone I would replace him with. Waste of FT to do so

          1. FC Hakkebøf
            7 years, 24 days ago

And yes.. in hindsight maybe. It's usually not wise to take a hit for a defender though.

    2. FPL Forward Thinker
      7 years, 24 days ago

Yes . Barnes will score double v Everton and Sterling will get hat trick v Wolves

Next week do Aguero to Vardy and Barnes to Abraham

already took a -4 to get in mount & yarmolenko for son & dendoncker.

this kdb injury comes as a shock to me. didnt hear of it till now. should i do a free hit or take a -8 or even ( i also have maitland whose starting position is gone, hayden who is suspended, dunk & soyuncu neither who will get more than 1 point vs spurs & man city).

Already WC used. i did early transfers this week as my rank dropped from 150k (in gw2) to 680 k currently. So lost patience.

Why did you move so early... Also Son out seems ill advised. He looked sharp against Bayern at least in the first half.

      1. Big_Andy_GAWA
        7 years, 24 days ago

You didn't hear of it until now?! Sure he was taken off in the last game with 10 or 11 mins left as he felt his groin and it has been talked about since...!

      2. Regin
        7 years, 24 days ago

yeah spurs in disarray. i thought mount & yarmolenko better than son & bench fodder dendoncker.
never expected a kdb injury, was thinking of captaining kdb at home to wolves.

    2. FC Hakkebøf
      7 years, 24 days ago

Calm down. Don't take a hit. Keep KDB. Play AMN with Dunk first sub. Spurs look so leaky. And Brighton could frustrate them this week if they decide to sit deep.

Scoring an injury time goal to make it 2-0 is really just 1-0

If you look at the extended highlights it should have been at least 4 or 5-0.

They are less ruthless without KDB but ruthless non the less. Both the D + B Silva are more than worth replacements whilst he’s injured.

Hard to say really. I would like to see Guardiola do what Klopp has done with the same budget and starting point So far Guardiola has only coached teams who were fauvorites to win the league prior to his appointment. Whereas Klopp made a mediocre liverpool team into one of the best in Europe.

That being said, Guardiola is prolly still the best coach in the world when it comes to managing the best of the best teams.

You want to captain Pukki and you clearly did not understand what I meant with my reply above. There is merit in the drunk claims 😀

            7 years, 24 days ago

I am the only guy who C him, only for the 3 games he blanked ^^ But home to Villa, need differential from disappointing Salahs/Sterlings. And vodka.

            1. FC Hakkebøf
              7 years, 24 days ago

Pick Salah or Sterling. Also pick Vodka.

Three decent picks right there. Hardly differential picks, but they should give you a good and fun week none the less

No it was mins-read. I beleive the comment in question refers to the OP he is replying to, regarding KDB.

I can see how it could be inferred as Son, but a quick re-read clears it up.

It's still decent. But it's really missing Mark. Not because of his knowledge, but he also did a great job entertaining. They had a much better synergy to be honest. No offence to the newcomers etc.

Hi, I just saw in the City vs Dinamo summary that Aguero was subbed out at 89 minutes. What happened there? Was he just tired? Does he look nailed for Watford?

    1. Arctic monkeys
      7 years, 24 days ago

No one is nailed in that city attack is my conclusion

    2. FC Hakkebøf
      7 years, 24 days ago

Given the fact that he isn't playing for Argentina, I find it highly likely that he will play vs Watford as well. Jesus will be travelling with Brazil?

      1. Regin
        7 years, 24 days ago

did the premier league rearrange the fixtures so that manC play twice against Watford in 2 weeks after thrashing them 8-0?

    3. Regin

that 3 minutes rest means he will fresh for another 89 minutes at home to wolves and is captain material.
surely he will be for the watford game on may 9, 2020.

    Is Wilson overlooked?

    Next 3 ARS, NOR, WAT.

    1. FC Hakkebøf
      7 years, 24 days ago

He had a few lucky returns (very lucky), but yes he is definetely overlooked. But it has something to do with him having an odd pricetag.

    2. Salah’s Sonnet
      7 years, 24 days ago

He was very fortuitous to have the early returns that he scored, but i just have extremely bad luck with him, trolled me more times than i can imagine, even though they are good fixtures. be just like him to blank in those.
