Weighing up some options. Which one do you like best? Number 4 is giving my the highest return over the next 5 or so fixtures.

    WC in hand still.
    1. Salah + Pukki -> Maddison + Aubameyang (1.2m).
    2. VVD + Smith -> Pereira + Soyuncu/ Tomori (0.2m/0.1m).
    3. A. Smith + Cantwell -> Soyuncu + Dendoncker (0.0m).
    4. VVD + Pukki-> Holding (4.5m) + Vardy
    5. VVD + Pukki-> 5.6m def + Wilson.

    Pope.
    VVD, Otamendi, Robbo.
    Cantwell, Mount, KDB, Sterling, Salah.
    Abraham, Pukki.
    Button, Lundstram, A Smith, Wickham.
    2ft- 0.1m ITB.

option 5 with Matip is best. you sell VVD who gets cs vs United so better to invest in his partner who will also get cs and usually also scores well in bps system.

I like 4 as think Vardy going to clean up over this period.

      Rather Lowton/Soyuncu over chambers.

Can anyone help with this appalling mess of a team? No Abraham and KDB are obvious problems but I'm reluctant to lose players with a nice fixture in GW9. Creative suggestions very welcome. Thanks for your help 🙂

    Heaton - McLovin

    TAA - Robertson - Digne - Otamendi - Lundstram

Salah - Sterling - David Silva - Mount - Saka

    Pukki - Jota - Greenwood

£0.6m in the bank, 2 FTs.

I think you need to shift some funds up top by dropping ota and Digne and then upgrade Greenwood as Saka likely won’t play this week.

      Otamendi to Lowton
      Digne to soyuncu
      Greenwood to Wilson (c)

See your OR at 1.7m. Mate, I would WC.

Saka, Greenwood, Ota, Digne and a front 2 of Pukki and Jota to be honest going to see you stay where you are or drop further.

City triple up bad idea as well in my honest opinion.

I think you have a bit too much cash tied up in defense Virg and having two City mids is probably more of a headache than it is worth as Pep could easily bench both of those guys out of the blue and screw you.

I like Saka a lot but i think he will make way when Laca returns so you may want to look at him and ideally Mane instead of Salah but that is not the biggest problem you have.

I think you may need a premium striker to balance things out.

I thought the movie was fantastic and is an modern day classic.

I am seriously considering going into the cinema again this weekend to watch it again which is something i have never done with a movie before.I think i could watch Joker ten times and take something different from it each time.

Joaquin Phoenix's performance was just staggering. What an actor. No one else could have done that with the role.

The film had more in common with Taxi Driver than anything else I thought.

How did you interpret the ending?

Joaquin definitely put his stamp on the character.

You could read that ending a whole load of ways but when i first saw it i thought that the whole thing may be just inside his head and the rest of the movie was some kind of mental delusion of some kind.

Yeah Todd Philips acknowledged that theory in a recent interview but wouldn't confirm if it's true.

As good as Health Ledger was as the Joker, his performance was somehow way above his portrayal.

As good as the acting was the movie was just plain boring. It's hard to admit it when people go in the fixed mindset that they would find the movie great regardless of what happens but let's face it nobody would watch it twice

differential only works if he gets you the points no one else has 🙂 this would be a negative differential.

If you want to spend 6M on a defender pereira from leister could be that differential, still little ownership and likely to get points.

Just like Mark, I always says, "I like to bring in a defender who has a bit about him" i.e. Goal threat.

In 13 starts, Soyuncu and Tomori have had THREE goal attempts between them.

Absolute joke picks imo. I'm going nowhere near them. I don't care how luscious and golden Soyuncu's hair is.

If there are £4.5m that have more goal threat and CS potential then sure.

If you look at the teams in the PL - who do you think actually can keep CS? I would say Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United.

TAA is the obvious Liverpool pick. Otamendi is the obvious Man City pick. Tomori is a bargain at £4.5m for Chelsea so is Soyuncu for Leicester. You could also add Diop, Kelly and Lundstram. Man Utd have some options, but they have too many injuries at the moment. Arsenal also have too many injuries (they need Holding, Bellerin and Tierney back). Spurs are out of form.

Newcastle try to keep CS, but they don't have the ability. Everton could keep CS, but Silva's stubbornness to continue with zonal marking at set pieces is costing them. The rest all look like they will leak goals.

What's your point? There are plenty of £4.5m - £5m with better goal threat and CS potential than Soyuncu and Tomori (Tomori who has neither goal threat OR clean sheet potential by the way).

Who are they? It is too risky to go triple Sheff Utd defence. Palace have rubbish fixtures now. Bournemouth don't keep CS. Southampton fixtures are rubbish. Europa League is hurting Wolves.

          Absolute nonsense.
Chelsea are currently third for shots conceded in the box (Leicester are 1st incidentally).
Clean sheet potential is very reasonable, and at 4.5 Tomori was an absolute bargain!

I agree. Chelsea defence has looked poor so it’s more hope than expectation for Tomori. Leicester’s defence has also never been that great. I can’t help but feel the Soyuncu pick is sky fantasy players getting confused thinking he’ll score well in FPL.

Guy talks about Mark's philosophy as example to not bring in Tomori. Then goes and checks Mark's team. Finds Tomori in it.

      Life is confusing, isn't it!

As it stands I'm $0.2 short on going Haller to Vardy. What would be the best way to make that coin (could be $0.3 or $0.4 by the time I do it)

Cantwell OUT for a $4.5m fodder
    Ayew OUT Connelly IN
Pope OUT Gazzagainga IN (also have Tottenham $4.0 GK)
Otamendi OUT for a $5.3m defender

Cantwell and Ayew rotate home fixtures perfectly.
If Otamendi Out, I could bring in Matt Ritchie when fit

    Mount/Hudson Odoi on a WC?

If I go the latter it means I could upgrade my 5th defender (Rico) to someone at 4.8m.

I wouldn't upgrade Rico while he is still getting a game. Even though Bournemouth aren't great at the back a $4.2m LB taking corners is a steal.

WC team look great but really a boring template one tbf ...
Who will make your WC team from this lot:
    A. Boly
    B. Willems
    C. Yarmolenko
    D. H Wilson
    E. Hudson Oddoi
    F. Jimenez

I still can't decide if I should wildcard or not this week. There's probably at least 3/4 changes I'd like to make but I'm just not sure it justifies a WC. Thoughts?

    Pope, Heaton
    TAA, Otamendi, Montoya, Guilbert, Lundstram
    Salah, Sterling, Yarmolenko, McGinn, Cantwell
    Abameyang, Abraham, Pukki

I would likely bring in Mount who I feel is a big miss in my team. Plus one of KDB, Maddison or Wilson. To do this the rest would be “bench player” changes. So perhaps Connolly at Brighton. Rico, Dendoncker etc.

I don’t think his double rose this gw yet. But I do feel I’ve missed out by not getting him earlier. My excuse is I’ve pretty much had a midfield of Salah, Sterling, KDB and McGinn. Tif, McGinn has nearly kept up with him. If he’d managed to get something in the 5-1 win he may even have had more points than him.

Pukki, I am still keeping for now.

Yeah it’s pretty clear Lamps now views him as a pet project

I love the way he defies statistics too - he’s a real “eye test” player

9 goals from outside the box last year means XG just doesn’t apply, and his runs from deep means heat maps similarly need to be thrown out the window

Just a good old fashioned FPL points-getter

I wouldn't say it's too late, I finally took the plunge myself on WC at 6.7m. That's still an incredible price per output and Lampard rates him highly. He'd be worth it at 7m even. Keep an eye on Hudson-Odoi 5.9m though.

Does anyone here reckon it’s sensible going from 2, to 1 Liverpool defender for the next 4 fixtures? With the wildcard intact, i don’t think it will be a problem bringing Robertson back in in 4 gameweeks time for the LFC fixture swing. Robertson down to a 5M allows Pukki > Vardy

Yeah Tammy is a proper ‘wagon, nearly most owned player in the game

I’m keeping sterling for 3 games and then switching to mane till the new year

It keeps things simple, reducing FTs

But it does come at the price of having to keep greenwood for the foreseeable future

Every now & again Wilson pops up with an explosion

The Norwich factor this weekend has him the armband for me, at least provisionally

I ditched Sterling a few weeks ago to go Mo perma cap, the Sterling sale hasn’t bitten me, and the Mo perma cap hasn’t paid dividends yet

But Wilson looks great next 2, and beyond

Consider freeing up funds in defense? Everyone in this FFS bubble say TAA is a "must". I agree he is a valuable asset, but if you pick wisely you can have a much cheaper defender that will still get you pts while giving you more budget.

Just to put it in perspective TAA has 40pts @7.2m, Lundstrum has 39pts @4.5, PvA 39pts @5.6m, etc.

But that's me, I don't like to put much in defenders and Liverpool's next 4 matches are going to be tougher.

The only issue is that you're not generally happy to captain any of them.

Desperate to do wildcard in nay of the upcoming GWs. But the decisions that I have to make before doing that are
    1. Which cheap GK should I select from now onwards?
    2. Salah or Mane?
    3. Which 3 Premiums players to select?
    4. Do I need to select a Premium forward now?

Anyone Like to help here?? Please suggest. Thank you

I was tempted to go king over wilson to let me bolster the midfield and get vardy but he's playing our wide of a midfield 4 I'm sure?

      Kills any appeal for me

And be away from FPL for a while. You post more than 5 times a day, so many inputs might make you change this decent team into something that you'd later regret.

BSc in Computer Science specified so presumably Cambridge's BA Comp Sci doesn't qualify?

I've been a software engineer for over 15 years and never seen the need for a BSc in Computer Science for building websites/web tools.

How can there be a BA in Computer Science? It's either Arts or STEM right? If it's a STEM subject why is it a BA?

as a sad FPL nut I feel I have been robbed of my golden time this weekend.

11.30 check team for early game
noon check mini leagues to see other peoples transfers
2pm check teams for 3pm games
    refresh safari constantly
4.30pm check team for 5.30 game
    watch game on sky

A bit off topic but i think that Eliud Kipchoge deserves a shout out for what he is after achieving in Vienna today.

Kipchoge has become the first man in history to run a marathon in under 2 hours which is a mind blowing pace over 26 miles.

This is a video about how he prepared for this amazing feat of human endurance....

Striker spots are already tough to choose. Auba, Vardy, Wilson & Abraham all look like better options.
