FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

The draws for the third round of the FFS Members Cup and the fourth round of the FFS Cup have taken place following the completion of Gameweek 17.

We’re down to the final 128 Fantasy managers in both tournaments after last weekend’s games.

FFS CUP

The results from the third round of the open-to-all 2019/20 FFS Cup are available by clicking here.

The fourth round draw in full can be accessed here.

No former champions remain in the FFS Cup, with ex-winner A Manager Has No Name bowing out after a narrow 71-69 defeat to CMJC.

FPLchewitt, the only manager in the third round draw who was ranked inside the top 1k before the Gameweek 17 deadline, exited the tournament after a comprehensive 94-45 loss to DARK.

A new entrant inside the top 1,000 lives to fight enough another day, though: Yemop squeaked past Gilderoy Knockaert 68-67 and moves to 971st in the world in the process.

Doos11 was unlucky to fall at this latest hurdle, having been defeated by TOMYG84 despite scoring 85 points – his opponent having a superb Gameweek in accumulating a score of 98.

On the mods’ front, Rotation’s Alter Ego fell 72-61 to Aragorn but G-Whizz progressed by defeating Egg Fried Reus 65-61.

In the fourth round, there will be an all-top 10k clash between Limit80 and Delaware Rovers.

Emm7980‘s opponent, pricewise987, appears to have had their account deleted (at the time of writing).

Our highest-ranked manager, Yemop, will take on NielsvanDelft, while our lowest-ranked FPL boss, Ujjwal, faces Dreaming Of Irene.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

The scores from the second round of the 2019/20 FFS Members Cup are available by clicking here.

The third round draw in full can be accessed here.

There will be a new name on the FFS Members Cup this season, with former champions rrcmc and Waltzingmatildas having both fallen to 69-65 defeats to TorresMagic and Scubasmithy respectively.

Two members of the top 1k (one a new entry) have progressed to the round-of-128.

frankiem, ranked at 104th, beat Campo72 by 77 points to 57.

ActorJeff edged past Jeremy T after 72-all draw, with the former’s higher rank (606th) seeing him through.

One Fantasy manager hit a century in Gameweek 17 to make it to the third round.

Why Always Me leapt from the 150k mark to 29,531th in the world after a score of 100 points, which was more than enough to see off gaetandb.

In round three, the only manager left outside of the top one million, spadecooley, takes on bfg13destroyer.

ActorJeff and frankiem‘s rewards for their victories are ties against Pseto and PepRoulette.

Hello fellas, how can you improve this team?

    Pope
    Aurier Kelly Lundy
    Son Alli Grealish Maddison KDB
    Vardy Rashford

    Mousset TAA Hanley

    Would you do

    1) Maddison > Richarlison
    2) Mousset > Jota/Jimi and bench Maddison
    3) Keep the same team.

Do you think Maddison will do well against City and Pool next 2? Scored in the reverse Pool fixture.

Case for going without for Christmas. Dont panic hear me out. (Only for the mavericks)

    Liverpool fixtures GW18-21
    ************************
    Gw18 / Blank

Gw19:- Leicester / Toughest defence in league

Gw20:- WOL / High probability of rest as liverpool play woves exactly 2 days, 20 hours 30 minutes after Leicester clash

    - Gw21:- SHU / 2nd best defence in the league that Liverpool could face

    - Add to this long trip to Qatar and a healthy 10 point lead means a Mane rest is on the cards which is most likely to be gw20.

    - A spurs midfeild double up of Son/Alli + KDB Grealish is too hard to ignore for Christmas which means sacrificing Mane is the solution

Ive got 3.8m in the bank incase this plan backfires. (swap out either either Son or Alli)

Yeah sound sensible, who else would you look at apart from those 4 mids?

Richarlison and Zaha are decent punts as well if your looking for a Pulisic replacement.

But if your going to replace Mane has to be with someone reliable like Son Alli or even Sterling

I'm thinking the same and doing the same by bringing in Kane for Mané but have a plan to get Salah/Mané back in by GW 22

I like it, ive gone with Richarlison personally with 4.6ITB. I think i'll just see how things pan out, with the Leicester game and decide wether i want Salah or Mane back in for Wolves. Could base it off minutes played in Qatar and Leicester.

Feels scary to be a maverick. My OR is now 32k and I expect it to be 10k or 200k if I don't get a Pool mid back soon enough.
I guess it's not that bad because people won't be captaining Pool players

Exactly plus mane wont play gw18 and highly probably get a rest in gw20

Why keep a 12m player that wont play 2 games in next 3. You could make some good ground by doubling up with spurs mids

Well city dont blank in gw18 and im not going to sell kdb after 19 point haul.

Main taking point here is doubling up on spurs mid with Son and Alli at the expense of Mane. (While keeping money itb to revert incase plan backfires)

Was gonna do that, but realised front 7 of: Mane, Son, Alli, KDB, Grealish, Vardy, Rash/Tammy is possible - so may be try to see if you can fit them in first?

He's been playing like that from the start of the season, and yesterday's assist won't change the fact that they are not keeping cleanies. I think if you can use the extra cash better somewhere else there there is a case of downgrading.

7.3 is still value for his style of play and points potential. Baines n coleman used to be priced at 7.5

Those premium u mentioned need to deliver more consistently at that price

    A)Kane + Willems

Definitely, 3 pigs swilling from the same points trough.

There's Jimenez, Vardy, Ings, Abraham and probably other alternatives to Kane or Rashford though.

Why do I see a lot of people ditching Mané instead of TAA ? Liverpool have more chances of scoring goals than keeping clean sheets in the next few games, and TAA isn't a captain option like Mané. + with downgrading TAA to a 4.5/5.0 def you can pretty much afford any mid you're missing (KDB, Son, Alli, Martial, Grealish, etc.).

Agree completely, but I wanted Alli and selling TAA wasn't enough to fund that in my team, so it had to be Mane.

So you have a power attack I guess ? With Kane ? Or juste Rashford+Vardy+Tammy ?

442 with Rashford + Vardy. Thought I'd sell TAA and use the funds to switch to 352 with Alli as the 5th mid, but it wasn't enough.

I sold but with a plan to get back (or Salah) in the new year. He has tricky fixtures between now and new year and could well be rested in one of the home games against wolves or Sheffield United.

Am gambling that Richarlison (ARS, BUR, new) and Kane (BHA, nor, sot) outscore Mané (lei, WOL, SHU) and Jimenez (MCI, liv, wat).

Just remind me of the "ditching Kane over xmas" strategy by Jay Egersdorff two years ago. Mané and Salah are still the 3rd and 4th top scorers in the game, I think it doesn't matter who they play. And to prevent rotation risk it's not switch your big hitters that works but having a strong bench imo.

Still your bet on Kane+Richi looks good on paper. But if Mané outscore Kane when he'll be a huge captaincy pick in GW20-21, it could damage your rank. And it costs a lot of transfers to bet against Mané. Not sold on it, really, but GL.

I suppose the question to ask is the risk of rotation going to be similar for players like Kane/Son/Dele?

Liverpool have the CWC which adds 2 matches onto their schedule (WHU game will be re-arranged) whereas Spurs aren't in that competition. Liverpool just played a League Cup game (well their U23s did) while Spurs have been out of the competition for months.

Spurs' less intensive schedule and tighter premier league battle (Liverpool have a huge lead and can drop points) means less rotation for their best assets (Son/Dele/Kane) than Mane/Salah/Firmino in my humble opinion

Surely Liverpool who haven't won the title for ages and suffered dramatic comebacks in recent years aren't thinking that "they can drop points".

They rested key players (Salah and Firmino) in the Merseyside derby and then rested Mané the following game against Bournemouth. Klopp is acutely aware of the risks of burnout to his key players and his team selection yesterday, benching Firmino, Mane and TAA, alluded to this further.

Just can't decide my mane replacement for two gw's. Sterling and Son? Views?

    Some factors i am considering:
    - Sterling has LEI, wolves whilst Son has CHE,BRI
    - I would def prefer captaining sterling in gw18 but son in gw19;
    - Have Kdb and Alli so depends which double up i want. On paper, city is far more attacking than Jose's spurs
