Merry Christmas from Fantasy Football Scout

Christmas Day has finally arrived, providing many of us with a chance to take a much-needed break from Fantasy Premier League, as hard as that is.

While you’re doing your best to ignore FPL, everyone here at Fantasy Football Scout would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

While you’ll probably be digesting roast dinner rather than FPL content on this special day, I am sure many of you will be considering what to do with Son Heung-min after his Gameweek 18 red card.

Don’t forget, if you’re struggling to balance family life and FPL, former world champion Simon March has provided us with some much-needed tips. READ THEM HERE.

Thankfully, we had enough time to produce plenty of articles ahead of the Boxing Day fixtures so make sure you head over to our Gameweek 19 guide in the top menu for everything you need for tomorrow.

Until then, I would like to thank our many readers, listeners and viewers for another year of fantastic support for Fantasy Football Scout.

After the transitional season of 2018/19, with myself, Neale and Geoff coming onto the team, the 2019/20 campaign has been one of continued growth for the site.

Further increases in viewing figures and membership sign-ups have helped us invest back in more new signings including a team of talented ProPundits, video and community manager Andy Mears, as well as expanded involvement for FPL Family pair Sam and Lee Bonfield.

A great big thanks also goes to our team of mods for the thankless job they do for us every day.

That just leaves me to make another rare request for you to tear yourself away from the site for this one day of the year and spend some time with your family and friends.

Captain Sensible and the Scout Picks articles went up yesterday so there won’t be too much more to have a look at today.

We’ll be hearing from Pro Pundit Az Phillips a little bit later today but apart from that, it’s going to be a quiet one until the Boxing Day matches.

      Merry Christmas. The dismissal of Kane on here after some patchy form always baffles me.
      Think it was last season (maybe the one before) people on here confirmation bias-ing each other before a spurs match at Burnley. You'd swear Mee and Tarkowski had turned into Cannavaro and Nesta. Kane banged in a hat trick.
      By far the best captain choice this GW.

        Entirely agree man - well said. First time he’s been in my squad this season but really hoping he’ll step up to the plate in the absence of Son.

        It's not necessarily Kane that is the problem. No-one doubts his class, but the rest of the team don't look anywhere near their best. If Eriksen starts then Kane should do well, imo.

          You'd be surprised how many on here actually doubt him rather than understand spurs aren't the force they were when he burst onto the scene with rose walker Davies dembele wanyama all flying. It's crazy that Kane has scored so much considering how crap spurs have been for a while now. Nonetheless on his day he is up there with Salah sterling aguero as the most explosive players but for me spurs aren't good enough to justify owning or capping Kane

      depends on a whole lot, i have Ings who i´m pretty certain will rest so i´d swap Son for Salah.

      There could be random benchings tomorrow, so a Cantwell 1st sub could possibly get in anyway? Villa looks great but Cantwell is a home player (but i´m one that is burnt by Cantwell so often, benched when scored ad blanked when i played).

        Very true, valid points. My bench will be Son Soy and Diop, so I’m quite vulnerable to benchings.

        But, who to get out for a hit of this lot? Need 2m:

          Ings is the one i would be worry about, but even him could get a sub app, the other ones most probably starts if no injuries

          the most obvious one if you need 2m is TAA, Gomez is a much lesser pick but if Gomez concede TAA will as well, and while he does not offers much TAA set pieces could end up on the head of Gomez-)

          A poor mans TAA but for a short period like this one, Gomez could be worth it, nailed and does well in bps as well.

            My worry is I’ll be doing Son to Alli this week to no effect, keeping me from getting Salah for free next gameweek.

      Digne by some margin. Coleman much more likely to play than Baines, I would have thought. Ancelotti also said that he would base his team around Richarlison and Digne.

      all will depends on if they are subbed in or not, it´s when they don´t play at all the carnage starts as very often that sets different subs in motion and vc for some, so if they are subbed in it will have relatively small effects,

      I think most will come in as sub unless their team leads by a clear margin.

    - need to have atleast one cheap players in either ings/grealish

    It’s very confusing, I am leaning towards ABE as the talisman in their teams but Ings has served me so well and decent long term fixtures.
