The final match of Gameweek 19 takes place this evening, with Wolverhampton Wanderers in action against Manchester City.

Kick-off at Molineux is at 19:45 GMT.

There are no shocks from Nuno Espirito Santo, who names the same team for the fifth game running.

Indeed, over the last ten Gameweeks (including this one), Romain Saiss (£4.4m) is the only member of the starting XI who isn’t an ever-present – and even he only missed out in Gameweek 14 due to suspension.

That means that Adama Traore (£5.3m), Raul Jimenez (£7.5m) and Diogo Jota (£6.1m) again form a three-man attack for the hosts, who appear to be in their usual 3-4-3 set-up.

There is an unexpected absentee in the Manchester City squad, with Gabriel Jesus (£9.6m) not involved due to illness.

In his place, Sergio Aguero (£11.7m) makes his first league start in over a month.

Aguero had been absent until last weekend with a groin injury but had a brief cameo at the Etihad as Pep Guardiola’s side beat Leicester City 3-1.

The only other change to the City starting XI sees Rodri (£5.4m) recalled, with Ilkay Gundogan (£5.2m) dropping to the bench.

Kevin De Bruyne (£10.5m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.8m) start again for the visitors, who face Sheffield United in less than 48 hours time.

Wolves’ Gameweek 20 fixture is at Anfield on Sunday, meanwhile.

Santo’s troops won the reverse fixture of this game 2-0, with Traore and Jimenez both registering double-digit hauls after combining for Wolves’ two goals.

De Bruyne missed that game through injury and it remains the one league fixture that City haven’t scored in this season.

Wolves XI: Patricio, Dendoncker, Coady, Saiss, Doherty, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny, Traore, Jimenez, Jota.

Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Mendy, Rodri, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Sterling, Aguero.

VAR helped get both decisions correct.

      It was a pen.

The ruling for encroachment has nothing to do with VAR.

Milometers offsides, the encroachments some things need ironing out.

That entire penalty sequence illustrated that the rules need tweaking.

FIFA has work to do there.

The rules have been the same for ages. It's just that no ref in the world had balls big enough to call encroachment retakes before they got VAR as evidence to confirm when it happens.

No. He would have got the assist if Sterling scored the penalty. Sterling missed the penalty therefore Sterling is seen as assisting himself by shooting, having his shot saved then scoring the rebound.

Painful this PL VAR implementation, refs even more useless than when they were allowed to make decisions. This is defo a case where the rest of Europe have it right, severely damaging the beauty of the PL.

A VAR supporter, just the ridiculous use her in England!

    1. FPL Daniel

Have said before, PL deliberately implementing VAR badly as they don't like it. Want the public to be against it so they can take it away.

Why do you think the PL waited a season after all the other European leagues to implement it? They are dead against it.

Seen enough to know this is a shambles tonight mate, maybe you could elaborate on your point exactly with some detail. Happy if you disagree but if you want to challenge my POV then maybe some counter detail. Tonights pen + encroachment undermining of the ref my point. HE should be allowed to review side line HIMSELF before overruled. This is how I have seen it implemented in Europe (in the limited but multiple) games I've seen.

    4. Magic Zico
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I agree re 'implementation' in PL ... so much work to do. Sport as an entertainment should be well factored in. Fans should have some say on the 'implementation'.

Indeed, not anti-VAR at all, it's a great thing but for some reason the PL seem to have managed to sc**w it up.

We arguably have the best refs already, now they seem to have been hindered opposed to helped.

5 minutes before the penalty I was thinking KDB should be the taker with no Aguero, Jesus and Gundo in the pitch if City wins a penalty. Only way to save anything from this week sins he is my C. And then Raheem "I my the worst ever penalty taker and don't listen to my manager" Sterling steps up.
