For draft team. Whom to get rid to accomodate Pulisic?
    A Sarr
    B Barnes

    McCarthy (Button)
    TAA, Alonso, Targett (Kiko, Hanley)
    Mane, KDB, Fernandes, Martial (Barnes)
    Jota, Wood, DCL

    a) DCL > Pukki (roll FT)
    b) DCL, Barnes > Mahrez, fodder
    c) other idea

    V-FPL
    Pope (Button)
    TAA Robbo Stevens (Stephens Lascelles)
    Bruno KDB Barnes Mane (Hayden)
    Jota Pukki Ings*
    1ft 0.5

    A) Play Stephens or Lascelles, roll FT, bench Ings
    B) Ings to Deeney
    C) Barnes and Ings to Rashford and Cantwell (-4)

If A, I'd do C next probably. Quite like Abraham and Sarr too.

Hey guys, hope you're all well. This is the slow wildcard team I'm working towards thought I'd share:
    Pope (McCarthy)
    TAA Maguire Boly (Lundstram Holgate)
    Salah KDB Bruno Zaha (Saka)
    Kane DCL Jota

    Leaves 1.0 itb

The above not currently in my team are Maguire, Zaha, Pope, Kane.

I agree on the United defender consensus, and just got a feeling Zaha will do something when it returns. I'll wait on Kane till last minute as I currently have Aguero and could leave him in if the start happens sooner. Take care one and all x

            I didn't use FT mate
            Couldn't decide.

But if i pick one next GW, it'll be Maguire simply because of nailedness & threat on set plays (Bruno is good at them)

I think i should have used the FT now 😀

AWB got rested in UEL ( for diago .. the Portuguese boy) as far as I remember.

Three tables for vFPL'ers ahead of GW6:

    - Goals (or Assist) Imminent
    - Sharp Shooters & Effective Chance Creators
    - Captaincy Contenders

Well firstly I think last week was exceptional - all 9 players on the Goals (or Assist) Imminent Table were getting lots of chances per 90min (over 5.5), this week only 4 players score over 5.5 AI/90.

Also, Jimenez was a bit of an anomaly, certainly compared to this week's candidates - nearly 12 AI per 90 was exceptional.

So I don't expect such big success for the Goals (or Assist) Imminent table. In other words, I would be inclined to save a transfer.

However, Fernandes does stand out - if we remove his excellent GW1 stats (14AI, 2G, 1A) he has converted just 3% of chances into a goal or assist (2A 0G from 61AI). So definitely buy him if you don't own already.

He's also a contender for the armband, for me it's between him and Mané - the two players with the most Attacking Involvements.

What do you make of their opponents (Chelsea and Brighton)?

A 3% goal/assist conversion rate is very, very poor. He sounds like the new Tadic. I'd be tempted to sell seeing this - nevermind captaining him.

Interesting take. IRL he does tend to shoot a lot from distance, and has a goal conversion percentage of 10.5%. But he is on penalties. At least we think he is, not sure if Man Utd have had a pen in vFPL yet.

I don't think he's the new Tadic, I think his 3% will improve.

Man City have conceded 89 attacks in 4 gameweeks, they are defensively the worst team.

Does this need to be tweaked? In real life they have so much possession and they do SO many tactical fouls, that they don't tend to concede that many shots on goal.

In my friendly "virtual Pep" started with 4 defs and 6 attackers (Sane, KDB, Raz, Mahrez, Jesus, Kun)! No defensive mids!
It looks like vPep wants to score goals and dont think about def too much

Cant remember as it was last GW. But he is a defender in the game.
This GW friendly City lineup was:
EDERSON, STONES, LAPORTE, WALKER, FERNANDINHO, FODEN, MAHREZ, DE BRUYNE, STERLING, JESUS, AGÜERO

                  Goals: MAHREZ JESUS AGÜERO

I wonder how much Fernandinho as a defender makes a difference, if he was in midfield you'd imagine they would be more solid (extra defender on the pitch).

Oddly they haven't been creating too much either, five teams have more AI than they do.

Fernandinho is the king of tactical fouls. In defence he can't risk them like he can in midfield because he gives away a penalty. One of the reasons Man City haven't kept many clean sheets in the premier league this season.

Dont want to sell player that I may need/want and pay more for it.
I just sold Williams who isnt nailed and got DCL+Bruno. Now just burning FT and wait for some info.

Solid. Not sure about double Pool defence. Pity no Arse attack because of the extra game, but nice, strong 3-4-3. I have also been doing the slow WC but still have Auba.

            Mine:
            Pope, Button
            Doherty, TAA, Stephens, Kiko, Taylor
            Salah, KDB, Fernandes, Saka, Hayden
            Auba, Vardy, Jota

I need to get a playing second keeper, and probably upgrade Saka. Vardy will probably have to go to make those moves with probably Barnes in for Saka, but holding Vardy for now because of value and waiting for more info.

Anyway, it's all hypothetical right now isn't it? Will it / won't it restart? How many GW's? What fixture order? etc.

              * need second playing keeper because still have BB.
              * not sure about your double Pool defence because two wins, league won and Pool relax.

What's your ideal trinity of vFPL forwards?
I own Vardy DCL Ayew but feel like somehow getting fwds from WOL & NOR.
DCL's attacking involvement has been good but I'm not sure EVE are good enough as a team.
Could cover NOR's attack with Buendia but his minutes are a little worry, compared to Pukki's.
In WOL's case, I think (hope) Jota can match Jimenez.
The risky sacrifice I'm about to make is KDB to Mahrez. Their outcome has been similar so far.
Going for Kun / Rash / Auba would be good, but I hope Mahrez can cover MCI attack (Kun too expensive), Bruno can cover MUN attack and Auba (costs too much)... well... doesn't fire a lot. Arsenal seem to be quite weak away too.
TOT's attack is scoring well too but I just can't prioritise them over the rest. Alli will miss the next 3 gwks too, which may make them weaker.

Share your vFPL thoughts if you like.

Great question. I've requested that this should be a hot topic. There are so many good forwards in the game and choosing just 3 is really tough. I don't feel comfortable doing DCL to Pukki this week, as DCL's stats were pretty good.

I'm currently on the in form trio of Auba, Jota, Wood, but an planning to switch Auba to Rashford for GW9 and GW10 then to Vardy for GW11 onwards, which will give me MITB to upgrade elsewhere if necessary. I have KDB and Fernandes to cover the Manchester clubs.

I think it's a good idea to cover certain Forwards with in-form Midfielders. Like Buendia covering Pukki, Mahrez covering Aguero, Barnes covering Vardy etc. This way you're left with 3 forwards with no coverage in midfield, such as Wood. It makes a tough decision easier and gives your team a good balance I think.

Very interesting opinions, thank you for sharing!
Tinkering a little more now, I feel like using only the 2 FTs (was thinking of taking some hits too) to do Ayew Soyuncu to Pukki Ward.
Vardy will stay this gw because LEI face ARS (who have lost 2-0 to LIV & 3-1 WAT away) at home, might get sold next gw.
DCL stays too due to his high attacking involvement & faces WOL who don't have a great defence.
Would do MDB to Mahrez (their output is similar) but since Soyuncu can be sacrificed to enable the move, KDB gets 1 more gw to show if he's worth paying 2m more than Mahrez.
Traore, my lone wolf, can hopefully cover their attack this gw away to EVE who 1 of the best defences, even if they concede in most matches.

I would keep DCL this week.

I currently own Aguero, I think City have a nice run of fixtures and, by their standards, haven't been creating many chances. I would imagine they will improve this stat, which I hope will be good news for Aguero.

I own Pukki, long term the fixtures seem decent (looking at the fixture ticker) and he seems good value for money.

I'm currently favouring 5 in midfield but if I did own a 3rd forward I would consider Vardy, Jimenez, Jota, DCL or maybe Billy Sharp as a budget option...

Ayew has been very good for his price. There are many good attacks though & using a slot for a CRY fwd feels like a waste.
I hope Mahrez keeps doing as well as KDB to justify the downgrade & allow some more money to play with.

I’m currently running Aubameyang, Jota and Wood.

Ideally, a front 3 of Auba, Vardy and Jimi would be good, but since the prices of players are their current FPL prices, not what they originally were at the start of the season, that pretty much is impossible to have and remain competitive in other areas of your team.

    Henderson
    TAA / Gomez / Baldock
    Mané / KDB / Fernandes / Barnes
    Rashford / Wood / Jota

    Button // Ward / Taylor / Hayden

    2 FTs & 0.8 ITB:

    A) Barnes > Sarr
    B) Barnes > Buendia
    C) Wood > Pukki
    D) Jota > Pukki
    E) A and/or B + C/D
    F) KDB/Barnes > Mahrez/Sarr (Rashford to Aguero next)

It's C because, as well as Wood may have done, I think he's overperformed. And Pukki is the NOR attacker to get.
Not A because I wouldn't expect much from Sarr in the coming fixtures.
Not B because Pukki is the better NOR pick, has played 89' more than Buendia who didn't play at all at a friendly I ran yesterday.
Not D because Jota's correct direction is to be coming into teams, not leaving them.
Not KDB to Mahrez yet, unless you really need the money. Let's give MCI a little more time to see if Mahrez is that nailed.

    TAA - Egan - Gomez
    Mané - Lundstram - Sarr - Fernandes
    Vardy - Jota - Aybameyang
    (McCarthy - Masuaku - Saka - Taylor)

I think you're fairly safe to save a FT. Not too much you can do with 0.7m alone.

Pukki is tempting this GW, but not sure if I'd lose Aubameyang or Vardy. (He could match them, though.)

If you want to keep Aubameyang, you could upgrade Saka/Lundstram to someone like Buendia next GW by downgrading someone.

You could alternatively just upgrade Masuaku to a better defender. (Although he did score a few GWs back I guess.)

Hadn't thought about Buenia actually, but since you mentioned it I might consider doing Saka > Buenia next GW.

I have a lot of money tied up with Aubameyang though, so I might consider downgrading him to a cheaper forward, then upgrade one of the mids to De Bruyne/Mahrez, for example.

Just be aware about Buendia's minutes. 340, compared to Pukki's 429.
Ran a NOR friendly to check these 2 out and Buendia didn't even play!
That makes me bring Pukki in later today.

Nothing to report there, could leave it as it is, wouldn't sell Barnes now, playing ARS at home could get him points, he could cover Vardy too.
If you don't want to burn the FT, you could do KDB->Mahrez or Wood to DCL or Maguire->cheap def like 1 from CRY.

    Pope (Button)
    TAA, Egan, Lescelles (Ward, Saiss)
Mane (c), KDB, Fernandes, Barnes (Hayden)
    Auba, Jota, Wood

    0.0m ITB, 2 FT

The plan is to captain Auba next GW, then do Auba and Egan to Rashford and AWB before GW8, then Ward and Rashford to Soy and Vardy before GW10, then Lescelles back to Egan for GW14 which if all goes well gives me a D with good fixtures all the way though to GW20.

That still leaves me with 2FT's to use over the next couple of GW's, but I can't see anything obvious to do with them. Suggestions ?

Team looks good, Barnes to Buendia could be an interesting option to cover for Pukki possibly. Also, I wouldn't start Lascelles regardless of his fixture personally, Newcastle are awful in VFPL so I would consider playing Saiss instead.

Best use of a free transfer/hit in vFPL with this team?

    Guaita McCarthy
    TAA Taylor Holgate Ward Stephens
    Salah Mane Fernandes Mahrez Doug.Luiz
    Wood Pukki Maupay

    1 FT, 0.5m in bank.

Maupay likely to go but not much available up to 6.2.

Guaita has been immense so far but has Tottenham, United, Everton and Liverpool in 4 of his next 6 and the fixtures don't really rotate well with McCarthy so might possibly move him and get someone like Pope?

Holgate to Saiss might be something worth considering but Wolves fixtures aren't the best either.

Deeney is a 6.2 that could be worth considering bringing in for Maupay, with Deulofeu also out for a while, however he has 3 away games in a row.

Really depends on which Manchester pair you want to break up.
The option below is looking like my team.

I would go Pukki, Jota, Wood up front. Downgrade Rash

        Interesting! Cheers mate.
Although one risk with that is it might be hard to get aj expensive striker in later, but yeah the mid priced ones look the best value so far.

Oh I like Rashford, on penalties for United and that team creates a lot of chances.

Maybe switch formation and go for Jimenez instead of Fernandes/Mahrez?

Which vFPL would you want for the next 6 or so?

    DCL, Deeney or Jota?

Jota for me because of his form.

      Jota
I think Jota and Pukki are best forward picks

On slow WC in case fpl returns who would you rather as 5th mid
    A Saka
    B Cantwell

Present team with 4.9 in bank ( for Jota to Kane, Auba , Rashford or Aguero depending how fixtures fall)

    Pope Leno
    TAA Maguire Lundstram Boly Fernández
    Salah KDB Fernandes Barnes Saka
    Jiménez DCL Jota

If you have WC - Hayden (keep rest itb)
      If you dont than Cantwell

Not for everybody i guess but it is a bit of craic and scratches an itch for fpl addicts.

It is the fpl equivalent of methadone. 😉

I hope it helps people and I don’t wish to come across as a miserable bar steward but it’s really really really sad. If it satisfies you though Ogie, fair enough

I’ve always had a few jars... Every message I give to you to give advice keeps getting delete for some reason... maybe it’s the jars and I’m imagining all of this...
