Three-time top 200 finisher Lateriser takes a deep dive into the Premium Members Area statistics as he looks at the Hammers’ best Fantasy options for the weeks and months ahead.

West Ham United have impressed in the league so far this season. While David Moyes is everyone’s favourite meme, he’s giving it back to the critics by making some really good decisions.

At the back-end of the last campaign, West Ham were very close to getting relegated and Moyes made some difficult decisions in benching a lot of expensive talent – which paid off.

That trend has continued this season and the Hammers look like a completely different side. They sit amongst the best five teams in the league for shots in the box and are also amongst the top five for shots in the box conceded. Given that they have already faced Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City so far, those numbers look even more impressive.

Moyes’ troops are about to embark on a great run of fixtures after their game against Liverpool this weekend, which extends right the way through until Gameweek 20. Keeping that in mind, I thought it would be a good idea to take a closer look at options from West Ham in both attack and defence.

As you can see above, this is a very impressive fixture run for the Hammers and they look primed for offering a lot of value at both ends of the pitch. After Liverpool at the weekend, they only face Manchester United and Chelsea from the traditional top six between Gameweeks 8 and 20.

Defence

I hope this deep dive into West Ham helps you with your decisions. Good luck for the Gameweek!

What is FPL Upside Chasing and how can I implement it in 2020/21?

If no other issues would you keep or sell Ryan ? Only have 4.5 for a replacement. Thanks

Maybe if I had 2 FTs, otherwise I'd just roll.

Who would you even go for? Not sure there's massively better options unless you don't have a Leeds defender already/.

          Probably.

Johnstone should get a bunch of save points but I'm not convinced by clean sheets and probably wouldn't go back to McCarthy

Son, about 75% sure but can't say I'm not tempted by Vardy against Leeds. Leeds can be hard to predict but he could thrive against them but I'd be fairly confident I'll stick.

Kane, because him, Son and Salah are good options but I think WHU are better than BHA. Him over Son mainly out of habit, but partly for penalities.

Only 70% sure I'll stick though as Son does seem to get in behind defences more so possibly has more goal-threat.

I know a lot of your are opting for Kane over Son because Kane is now moving deeper and loading Son's bullets but dont forget the penalties. Spurs will get their share of them.

Don’t own him but he’s deadwood imo. Never understood hype around him, his end product is non league standard.

People like grealish, zaha and foden are much better value at similar price. Or Bowen for West Ham’s fixture swing.

Masuaku after drawing 1-1 with City, talking about David Moyes:

“With me he talks a lot, he told me after the game how good I was and he says good things. That’s very good when you know the manager likes you. I’m just trying to play my game and give the trust back. At this moment I’m playing, I just try to keep my place in the team and hopefully help the team as much as I can.”

    https://www.hammers.news/club-news/i-know-he-likes-me-6-2m-west-ham-ace-shares-what-david-moyes-told-him-after-city-draw/

Sounds like Moyes really rates him.

We will not revert to a back 4.

And Moyes picks Masuaku ahead of Cresswell normally. Also plays Masuaku in midfield. The only toss up for me is down to Cresswell taking set pieces.

Check back as far as Moyes first stint if you like... I have a ST, go to every game. If Cresswell plays, Masuaku will be in an attacking position ahead of him.

Again, null point as we will not revert to back 4 when playing this qell

It's not like they've not had good fixtures already.

He's had 3 shots in the box so far.

Created 7 chances which is less than Docoure, Westwood, March, McGinn, Watkins...

I'm sure at some point he'll be a great option, but we've really not seen it so far, and I don't think we've seen anything to suggest it's coming.

I think the best option is probably to hold off another week and see how Chelsea look in a game they are expected to win with all their attacking players available.

Will also give you another week to assess replacements between the likes of Foden, Grealish and Zaha

    How would you use 2FT?

    McCarthy

    Salah Son Jrod Podence Biss
    Kane Jimi Brew

    Podence to Zaha?

    1. Black Knights
      • 14 Years

Can you afford it in one transfer? I would do it if you can. I also have Podence as an issue but would require downgrading TAA to achieve it and i don't want to burn both FTs yet.

      McCarthy | Martinez
      TAA | Saiss | Lascelles | Dier | Justin
      Salah | Son | Grealish | Podence | Biss
      Kane | Ings | DCL

We're actually quite similar. I might just do Lascelles to Balbuena and roll the 2 FTs to next week when i really won't want Podence (and possibly TAA) any longer.

My initial plan for my 2 FT was to bring Kane in this week, but after watching the City CL highlights I thought KDB looked.... well he looked like KDB. Difficult to decide which way to go now, especially as Kane really only has two decent fixtures before they turn.

I've bitten the bullet and used WC this week to get KDB in before the rush. He looked back to his usual self last night and I wanted to get him in as a differential (can we call him that?) before the masses (likewise for West Ham assets).

    Martinez
    Robbo Dallas Mitchell

Good moves I think. Can you do Stephens --> Chilwell or does it have to be Lamptey?

        Stephens (BUR) in this case

I would personally feel more confident if I owned Vardy than Werner but you have to think those are two great games for Werner. Both good options.

    Have issue with Sterling-Podence-Vydra

a)Sterling & Vydra to Son & Ings (for hit)
    b) Podence to Bowen(free)
c)Transfer all out with -8 hit

    and dont have Kane too

It's the plan, there is always a slight chance it could be abandoned but would take some pretty awful performances from City to not do it.
