As the 2020/21 campaign rolls towards its conclusion, Fantasy Football Scout are looking to make another new signing.

Hot on the heels of the full-time arrival of Charles ‘Az’ Phillips, we are looking for a full and/or part-time back-end developer to come and assist our development plans for 2021 and beyond.

While ‘full-stack’ skills are always welcome, we are really looking for a back-end developer with a few years experience capturing requirements and delivering projects with experience of PHP, WordPress and MySQL.

Main Duties Include:

  • Supporting the existing site and tools
  • Developing new features

Back-End Skills (Needed)

  • API design and development
  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • Apache
  • WordPress
  • Ubuntu
  • Ansible

Front-End Skills (Useful, but not essential)

  • HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Sass
  • React
  • Query
  • Bootstrap
  • AJAX

Experience

  • BSC Computer Science or related 2.1 min
  • Two years minimum commercial experience

Setup

Full-time role desired, but we can also consider part-time (two to five days per week).

We do work remotely but, ideally, we would like to get together in person on occasion, so if you are based in/around London (or able to get there relatively easily), that is an advantage.

However, those that work outside of London should still feel like they can apply. Talent is ultimately more important to us than Postcode.

If you are interested, then please APPLY HERE: jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

If you can include samples of your work as well as your CV that would be most helpful.

Hey all, hope everyone is well. Been completely absent from FPL for a while. WC available, don’t know whether to play 31 or 33.

For this week, had been thinking Dunk to Azpi, then play him ahead of Stones/Cresswell? 1FT 5.3m ITB. Cheers all x

    Martinez
    Stones Cresswell Dallas
    Son* Bale Bruno Gundogan Raphinha
    Kane Antonio

Looks solid. Azpi sounds like a good transfer there.

With the double gw32 announcement, I'd be tempted to hold onto you WC til at least 33.

35 looking like a decent sized double: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pY6OQPf-toGsWCOfw5OJ_omCCj6IldLYYOuPYIGxZ1w/htmlview#

Will people be annoyed at all the FPL pundits who said to Wildcard in 31?

    1. The 12th Man
      • 12 Years
      5 years, 3 months ago

      No.
      Why should we be?
They only make suggestions with the information they have at any given time. The schedule has been volatile with the Covid situation. So we all know any suggestion about using a chip or making a transfer can change from week to week.

    2. Guru Mediation
      • 11 Years
      5 years, 3 months ago

Why when they can free hit in 35? Waiting to wildcard until 35 seems a little late don't you think. 4 weeks from a wildcard team an absolute waste

Honestly, you are such a fool. I guess you are one of those that hangs on Crellin's every word. 😆

So explain this: why should the GW36 deadline move as he has placed it? Why shouldn't it stay where it already is? Everything would still work but instead of an 8-team DGW in GW35 and a 4-team BGW in GW36 you'd just have a 4-team DGW in GW36, end of story. The only deadline that would need to change would be GW37 and that would in fact be the simplest solution.

In other words, even if the schedule is re-jigged to put the last 2 games in front of fans, Crellin's draft calendar isn't the only way that could be achieved. But we don't know for sure yet whether that will happen at all, it's only a possibility. If it doesn't then we get a 4-team DGW in GW37.

So... the reason I call you a fool isn't because you didn't think this through. It's because you come on here trying to show off about how you are more clever than those that planned a GW31 wildcard. Doesn't look so clever when the basis of your crowing is only surmise and conjecture itself. 😉

Just certain people annoy me with their one-upmanship, RCA. Usually I don't bother commenting at all.

Not great really but I didn't play at all last season and only started GW5 this season because my nephews pestered me into it. They wanted to show me they now had the game sussed and seeing that giving them a 300+ point start has been well beyond me I guess they proved their point. 😆

My touch with captains has well and truly deserted me as well. 🙁

          How are things in Nirvanaworld?

Don't worry, I captained Digne for 1 point in GW29 when Burnley turned into Cruyff's Barcelona for a week, so you're not alone.

I didn't make that claim. I know the same as he does, no more and no less and don't take his word for things until I have checked the assumptions he is making.

He has no inside knowledge, just a lot of pretty colours on a spreadsheet. Apparently that makes him an expert for people like you. 😆

You didn't answer my questions by the way. Maybe you thought the diversionary tactic of putting words in my mouth was better?

    Dias Shaw Digne (Stones Coufal)
    Bruno Gundo Salah Raphinha (Barnes)
    Kane Watkins DCL

    gw 30: Save
    gw31: Stones to Rudiger
gw32: Barnes and Digne to Son and 3,9m def
gw33: Son and Kane to Vardy and high flying midfielder with good fixture (-4)
    gw34: Wildcard
gw35: Bench boost (if we get double gameweek)

    Thanks.

I generally like, but might consider Stones to Rudiger this week. Depends on your confidence with a City clean sheet, therefore playing Dias.

Also, could you possibly get Vardy without dropping Kane? The Spurs fixtures look pretty sweet post 33.

However, I'm having a crap season and you're flying so perhaps go with your plan.

Don't you just hate job adverts where they don't even give you an idea of how much the job pays *cough cough - FFS!!! *

I mean, it's not like FFS is Google, Apple or Microsoft is it. Like are we talking paper round money for this job, or are we talking a decent salary for someone with those skills - around 25-30k I would think in London.

Anyway, count me out just purely for not bothering to give us an idea of the salary (and presumably just thinking that the name FFS will have us queuing up to have the pleasure of working with such a household name)

Yes Mount seemed to be injured for about 5 mins. Missed training but he’s okay. Some rare excitement in a very long international break. Nice to see a few cricket scores- Japan win 14-0; Canada 11-0; makes Belgium’s and Netherland’s efforts look a bit puny

Need to bench two of KDB, Fernandes, Raphinha, Lingard, Gundogan, Bamford, Kane, DCL.

I was intending on transferring in Son (assuming he will be fit) for Gundo but it's a nightmare to bench this week.

Considering benching KDB and someone else but its v tricky

      Lingard and Gundog.
If you do Gundogan to Son, then bench KDB.

Is the set up (including bench order) correct here we reckon?
Debating whether I should be starting Cresswell and if so over who?

    Martinez.
    Shaw, Dallas, Stones.
    Fernandes, Lingard, Raphinha, Son.
    Bamford, Kane, Watkins.
    Steer, Cresswell, Odegaard, Burn.
    1ft, 6.7m ITB.

2FT- transfer thoughts with this lot? 0.5 ITB. Leaning towards 4 so I can captain KDB next week- will take him out for Bruno for 32

    1) KDB + Martinez —> Bruno + Mendy
    2) KDB —> Bruno
    3) KDB + Dias —> Bruno + Azpi
    4) Martinez —> Mendy
    4) other, recommendations?

    Martinez
    Shaw / Dias / Rudiger
    Salah / KDB / Son / Raphinha
    Kane / Watkins / Bamford

    Areloa / Gundo / Dunk / Dawson.

Salah to Bruno? Then after 2-3 GWs, Kevin to Salah

You could get away with no WC! Very good.

Not considering BB by transferring Dunk>Chelsea defender? I am thinking of just getting away with the BB this GW, before WC31. My current bench is: Forster, Stones, Gundo, Lowton (have Bamford and Son with the flag though)

That's my biggest dilemma of the season so far mate. Can BB by doing Forster dunk > Mendy Shaw. Would give me a great bench for a sgw BB. But not sure if I should use it now or wait for the dgws. Thoughts?

Hello, DZ. How are we all doing today?
What do we all make of the Spurs double gameweek. Does it change any of your plans? Fixtures do seem mixed and the cup final being so close to the Southampton game may dampen ones optimism but a double gameweek is a double gameweek!

It has changed lil bit, not sure of WCing in GW31 now since getting rid of Son was one of the move. May take a risk triple Spurs attack for double and WC in 33. Wonder when double will be announced.

I agree with you on that. And also as I am someone who needs to catch up, although the spurs fixtures are good for the run home I can't really see myself being able to do so when both Son and Kane are so highly owned and take up little under 20% of my budget. One would hope by 33 the doubles will be announced and could even help us understand City/Chelsea rotation a little more

The hidden transfer cost of a DGW can be forgotten. With the fact that a DGW involves playing 2 games in a few days, a Single GW is better. Players are more likely to score more points if Spurs were say "playing 32 and 33". I would therefore, only get players I want over a sustained period and not take hits where people invariably do.
The WC maybe Ok for 1 player change but no WC and it is a tfr in and a tfr out if you don't have the player in the first place.
It is quite reasonable to keep Son with a plan in mind provided he is passed fit.
