FPL Team Reveal: Who I’m replacing Romelu Lukaku with in Gameweek 9

After eight Gameweeks of the 2021/22 campaign, I’m currently sat just outside of the top 100k overall with 531 points.

Since I last checked in, I played a successful Gameweek 7 Wildcard, which I’ve included below alongside my Gameweek 8 set-up and week-by-week history of the season so far.

Now, ahead of Gameweek 9, my priority has been finding a replacement for the injured Romelu Lukaku (£11.6m). There are other issues in my team, like Adam Armstrong (£6.0m), but with a decent enough looking squad, I’m happy to wait a week or two before moving him on.

So, armed with £2.0m in the bank following last week’s frustrating Son Heung-min (£10.2m) > Phil Foden (£8.0m) transfer (don’t ask…), no forward is out of reach.

For context, here’s a shortlist of the options I considered.

      Do we expect Haverts to start consistently for a few?

      He typically doesn’t play 90 mins (or even close), and we don’t know how long Lukaku is out do we?

      Plan was to sell Mahrez this week but the Lukaku injury will make it a -4. Should I:
      A - accept that a -4 is the price I have to pay for being foolish enough to buy Mahrez in the first place
      B - keep him and play pep roulette for another week. Livra is my 1st sub but if cancelo gets a rest too then D Luiz comes in

          Yeah i probably would. Although the more i read the more i'm leaning towards Livra. Burnley concede a lot of crosses from his side of the pitch and he's been getting forward a lot in recent weeks.
