Our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points projections for Double Gameweek 29 have been updated following Friday’s press conferences.

Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) leads the way on 11.4 points, with teammates Sadio Mane (£11.7m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m) following next on nine points apiece.

Alexandre Lacazette (£8.3m) is the pick of the Arsenal assets, with a projected score of 8.8.

Subscribers can see the players heading the points projections tables for both this upcoming Gameweek and the next six in the images below but you can get the full picture by clicking here.

Our Rate My Team tool, meanwhile, can give you an approximation of how many FPL points your own team will score over a series of Gameweeks.

WHAT IS RATE MY TEAM?

Rate my Team (RMT) is a tool designed to give you an approximation of how many FPL points your team will score over a series of Gameweeks. This takes into account captaincy, vice-captains and automatic substitution points.

WHAT ARE PROJECTIONS?

Projections come in two forms – Season Projections and Six-Gameweek Projections (SGP).

Season projections show algorithm-generated predictions for every FPL player. This includes goals, assists, clean sheets, minutes played, bonus points, yellow cards and, most importantly, FPL points.

SGP shows algorithm-generated predictions for every player’s FPL points in each of the next six Gameweeks, calculating their points per million value over this period. These numbers are the same numbers as the ones used in RMT.

HOW ARE THE VALUES FOR RATE MY TEAM AND PROJECTIONS CALCULATED?

The values are generated by an algorithm that uses both current and historical data. There is also constant human monitoring so that the model can respond quickly to news, injuries or tactical changes that otherwise the algorithm may underestimate.

We do this to generate the best values with as little bias as possible.

HOW DO I LOAD MY TEAM INTO RMT?

To load your team into RMT, you need to type in your FPL ID.

If you can’t find your FPL ID, instructions on how to find it are on the Rate My Team page.

WHAT DO XM AND ADJP MEAN?

Placing the cursor over a player’s predicted FPL points in a Gameweek will show an xM score and an adjP score.

xM stands for expected minutes – It’s the number of minutes the algorithm is predicting a player to have. Note that this isn’t an exact Gameweek specific prediction but rather an average number of minutes. Therefore, while a player might be expected to play 90 minutes, their xM will be lower since there’s a chance they might miss the game or get substituted.

adjP is the expected points – how many points the algorithm predicts a player will score in the week if they were to play 90 minutes.

Both of these values combine to generate a final score.

FPL points projections for Double Gameweek 28: 2
WHY DOES RMT SAY TO START A PLAYER WITH A LOWER PREDICTED SCORE THAN A SECOND PLAYER?

Usually, this occurs because the algorithm predicts that a player (usually a goalkeeper) will either play the full game or won’t feature at all.

Player A – High adjP, very low xM – Low RMT score

Player B – Medium adjP, very high xM – Medium RMT score

Whilst Player A is unlikely to play, the most common scenarios is that they’ll either be given 90 minutes or none at all. Therefore, RMT thinks it’s worth starting him to make use of the high adjP if he plays, otherwise the safer option of Player B will autosub in.

Therefore it suggests picking Player A over B, despite the former appearing to score lower on RMT.

WHEN DO UPDATES HAPPEN?

While there’s no fixed update timetable, it is pretty much continuous.

Monday tends to have a big update after the weekend’s events. Thursday and Friday will have updates in the evenings following any news that emerges from pre-match press conferences.

CAN I SEE A FULL LIST FOR ALL PLAYERS IN RMT?

You can find the complete list here. It can also be found by clicking the “Players” option in the sub-menu under “Rate My Team” on the main Premium Members Area menu.

CAN I ORDER BY SCORES FOR ONE GAMEWEEK?

From the list of all players in RMT or projections, just click on the Gameweek header to sort the players by that Gameweek’s predicted score.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE GAMEWEEKS I VIEW RMT OVER?

At the top of the Rate My Team page, whilst you have your team loaded, you can select “First Gameweek” and “Last Gameweek”. By default, the first Gameweek will be the next Gameweek and the last Gameweek will be in six Gameweeks’ time, but these can be manually altered to suit your research.

We really could use a running “price change” clock/ticker at the top of all pages. I have posted this before and I think it’s worth another repeat. The amount of times this question is asked daily supports such a clock bring needed

    Dennis to Jimenez for free?

If not, how else could come in for Dennis?

Jimenez is a better option than Dennis, but not sure if I would lose a transfer to sell Dennis. Cheap, looks lively, great for my bench.

Hi folks, really struggling on what to do with team below - 1FT, £1.2m ITB:

    Ramsdale, Foster
    TAA, James, Tierney, Digne, Kilman
    Salah, Son, Bowen, Martinelli, Ramsey
    Kane, Edouard, Broja

Got some obvious players to go (James, Bowen, Edouard; maybe Kilman too) and ones I want to bring in (Doherty, Saka; maybe Robertson) but can't get the right combo - any thoughts? Thanks.

I personally see Ramsey as a liability, had him for the double and never looked like scoring from midfield, esp. with the front 3.

If you had a WC, I'd use it, there's probably around 5-6 players that could be moved (James, Kilman, Bowen, Ramsey, Edouard...)

I'd do Edouard + Ramsey + Kilman ---> Doherty + Toney + James, if you can afford it.

      1. nerd_is_the_werd

        Dan James that is.

Thanks for the reply pal! Some good options in there. No wildcard unfortunately. Agree on Ramsey (think he'll get rested soon too - Villa fan). Not sure on James/Leeds in general given how bad they were against Villa. Toney is an option, anyone is better than Edouard mind!

I'd keep Kilman for now. Every chance he's back in the team for GW30.

      Your lineup this week:

      Ramsdale
      TAA, Tierney, Digne
      Salah, Son, Martinelli
      Kane

I'd definitely do James -> Doherty. Would give you ~2.6m ITB. Bringing in Robbo is potential risky if VVD is out as rumoured and he also doesn't have a game in GW 30.

Don't think you can bring in Saka because that would mean wasting a transfer to take out an Arsenal doubler and GW30 player for another. Coutinho on current form might be a good option for Bowen. Plays WHU this weekend which I think he can do well in and then has a game in GW30. Alternatively consider going early on either Maddison/Barnes. Arsenal this week isn't great but they could get something. Then Brentford in GW30 and a decent run in including a number of DGWs.

Edouard could become Daka/Iheanacho. Or Toney. You might even have the cash to upgrade Broja instead if you prefer.

Thanks for replying mate! Agree with you on most of that to be fair, on reflection - Doherty in, Robertson worries, Arsenal swaps. Looking at Leicester mid for next week, hadn't considered for this - holding off to see who plays for them next couple of games (strikers too). Cout an option but fixtures get tougher soon.

Great, my main concern really is Mane not playing 60+ for both Brighton and Arsenal - can't have that for a 11.7 asset.

Always going triple Liverpool regardless so they're all benched in GW30.

Hi folks, how does this WC team look:

    Pickford
    TAA, Robbo, Ait Nouri, Tierney
    Saka, Son, Salah, Kulu,
    Kane, Broja

    Sa, Amartey, Dewsbery-Hall, Hwang

    1.4 ITB

As with the above post, is it better to try Son ---> Mane, and re-jig slightly?

Looks good, though the bench a bit light for a WC team for me
e.g. Ait Nouri is a good pick but not 100% nailed
Amartey has Fofana coming back I guess soon
Hwang maybe plays 1 in 2, Lage doesn't seem to have settled on his preferred Wolves attackers yet
Not sure on how nailed Dewsbury is and Broja might rest this GW etc.

        Interesting feedback.
All those players named have issues but are cheap, most of which is fodder to fund the 'expensive' players.
Maybe I can sacrifice one of them and bring in some Chelsea, who knows who starts.
Hopefully, this can do for the next 3 GWs.

    Kulu Saka Willock Salah(C) Gordon

    Kane Laca Jimenez

    Bench Boost activated
    Already -8 and 0.2 ITB

Should I changed Schar to someone else to maximize my BB or just leave it and hope he will play 1 of 2 game?

Nailed enough for Wolves and Newcastle.

However, I am not so sure he gets very much, and would be surprised if he got anything more than 1 goal in both those games.

Just not feeling a spurs defender, especially for a hit. Keep Cancelo with Digne first sub, right?

      Sounds good
Wouldn't surprise me if Cancelo outscores Doherty for example
