Gameweek 2 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) concludes with Liverpool v Crystal Palace, which gets underway at 20:00 BST this evening.

Darwin Nunez gets his first competitive start in a Liverpool shirt, replacing Roberto Firmino and joining Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz in the three-man Reds attack.

Darwin was the third most-bought forward of Gameweek 2 following his nine-point return against Fulham on the opening weekend, with just over 350,000 managers hopping on board the Uruguayan.

Jurgen Klopp has made four changes to the side that drew at Craven Cottage, with budget defender Nathaniel Phillips, James Milner and Harvey Elliott also in for Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara.

Three of the players to drop out are injured, with Firmino absent as a precaution, Matip out with a muscle issue and Thiago sidelined for the foreseeable future because of a hamstring problem.

Phillips gets the nod over Joe Gomez, who is on only the bench despite the centre-half shortage.

Patrick Vieira has made just one change but it could be a significant one regarding starting formation, with defender Joel Ward coming in for benched striker Odsonne Edouard.

Michael Olise is fit enough to be a substitute after a long spell on the sidelines.

GAMEWEEK 2 LINE-UPS

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, van Dijk, Robertson, Elliott, Fabinho, Milner, Salah, Darwin Diaz

Subs: Adrian, Gomez, Keita, Henderson, Tsimikas, Clark, Carvalho, Bajcetic, Van den Berg.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Clyne, Guéhi, Andersen, Ward, Mitchell, Doucouré, Schlupp, Ayew, Zaha, Eze

Subs: Edouard, Milivojevic, Mateta, Hughes, Johnstone, Ebiowei, Plange, Olise, Richards.

      Evolution is an observable fact.

Darwin's "Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection" is the best explanation we have for it atm.

It should have been shortened to "Theory of Natural Selection" instead to make it clearer...

    3. Qaiss
      • 10 Years

Unpopular opinion. They won't win another PL title under Klopp. Capable of more but the lack of investment in the team from the owners, whilst others are improving each year will be their downfall.

      1. Licky
        • 14 Years
        4 years, 1 month ago

Did they not just sign a forward for quite a bit, as well as a young attacking midfielder?

        1. Qaiss
          • 10 Years
          4 years, 1 month ago

Sold Mane though. They don't spend money like that much but the others around them are spending money like that season after season. It's going to catch up with them eventually and I reckon that happens this or next season.

            • 14 Years
            4 years, 1 month ago

Right, but the other teams have to spend more money because their squads aren't as good. Having said that hopefully they can get the midfielder they want next year.

Liverpool do a good job of balancing the books, they certainly can't do a Chelsea or a City . . . but this reminds me of a couple years back when injuries left us up the creek until that ridiculous final run got us to the CL.

Yeah, I'm glad the club are being responsible. That many injuries was definitely freak, can't really account for that.

Starting to feel a WC coming on....

    Sanchez, (Ward)
    TAA, Cancelo, Cucarella, Saliba (Neco)
    Salah, KDB, Martinelli (Andreas, Lavia)
    Darwin, Jesus, Mitrovic

    Feels very fun.

Quite close to my team but I'd never waste the money on Mitro. Either find Toney cash of 4,5 it and use it elsewhere.

Yeah ; if you watch game 1 he was lucky (TAA's defending, dive given) . . week 2 a penalty was the best he could muster.

i'd advise wait on Mitro , or at least wait to see if Fulham get any creative mids in, Wilson and Solomon big loses

    5. RogDog_jimmy
      • 5 Years
      4 years, 1 month ago

Not sure I buy that Toney is a better option than Mitrovic.
But that's not a huge deal.

And to me Haaland is a better option than KDB in a vacuum , but with the relative options in mid/attack I think I'd prefer it this way.

    For Bailey to Martinelli,

    A) Robo to Walker
    B) Saka to Rodrigo/Gross
    C) Saka to Martinelli and 4.5 to Mbeumo (bench Bailey)

Unfair to judge him against Martinez. He won't be up against such juggernauts every week.

          • 4 Years

I was initially scared for Nunez when I heard there was nothing about hair pulling in the rules. Then realised all Nunez had to do is wear it up and Martinez won’t be able to reach.

It’s genuinely tempting to wildcard to get Nunez in rather than take a -4 or -8. This season everyone’s team is so strong, getting on these players quickly feels really important and hits feel worse than usual given how strong the core of every team is

Said it earlier today, early WC isn't a terrible idea this year. Particularly with the additional.

There are easily 8 or 9 players to form the basis of a team and then navigate fixtures & injuries with the FTs each week.

Let's face it, most teams will end up with; TAA, Cancelo, James, Martinelli, Salah/KDB, Andreas, Haaland/Kane, Jesus.. maybe Darwin.
