Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) concludes with a fixture that has plenty riding on it, not just for us Fantasy managers.

Manchester United and Liverpool have had poor early starts to their respective campaigns and so far don’t have a win between them.

The game is also being played against the backdrop of yet another demonstration against United’s much-maligned owners, with planned shows of dissent inside and outside Old Trafford.

Kick-off, pre-match protests permitting, is at 20:00 BST.

As for the team news, Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag makes four changes to the side that started the desperate 4-0 loss at Brentford.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Fred are all benched as Anthony Elanga, Tyrell Malacia, Scott McTominay and Raphael Varane are handed recalls.

“We know Liverpool are a really good team and you need to press them. You have to do that out of a block and need energy, that is why we went with Rashford, Sancho, Elanga.” – Erik ten Hag on dropping Cristiano Ronaldo

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp meanwhile makes three alterations from the side that drew 1-1 against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 2.

Roberto Firmino is in for the suspended Darwin Nunez, while Jordan Henderson and Joe Gomez replace Fabinho and Nathaniel Phillips.

The most-captained player of Gameweek 3, Mohamed Salah, features in tonight’s match, with 2.4 million FPL bosses handing him the armband.

The Egyptian has scored or assisted in four of his last five appearances against tonight’s opponents, averaging 12 points per match in that time.

Best way to save 0.4m here?

    Sanchez - Ward
    Cucurella - Zinchenko - Walker - Trippier - Niko
    Salah - KdB - Rodrigo - Martinelli - Trashford
    Haaland - Jesus - Stansfield

    Zinchenko to Saliba?

        😀

Leed's fixtures look great. Everton at home GW5. Main man with Bamford out. I can be stubborn or recognise he's a great pick at 6.2m.

Rashford - everyone was on him pre-season and he's now 0.2m cheaper, and United may have turned a corner. Willing to give him a try at 6.3m ahead of Southampton and Leicester.

Trippier - set pieces, Newcastle much stronger, and Wolves up next.

Compromises sure, but they enable Salah, KdB and Haaland.

Ten Gag might crash into a tree if he tries turning a corner.

Liverpool will be wiping the floor clean soon...

What to do here? 0.4itb 1ft

Ramsdale (Ward)
TAA Cancelo James Walker (Neco)
Salah Mount Marti Neto (Andreas)
Haaland Jesus (Archer)

a) Mount/Neco > Rodrigo/Perisic (Neto first bench)
    b) Neto/Neco > Perisic/4.4 (5atb)
    c) Any other suggestion?

He scored over 200 points last season. He returned 7 points then 11 points in his first two games this season. GW3 was a stinker for him, but it doesn't change his overall value.

he'll get plenty of cs pts - but so will walker. His assist pts in gw 2 were very fortunate

His stats are better that those for Walker. I'd suggest that he's also more likely to have his appearance minutes assured through the season when compared to Walker as well.

You just know if you sell Trent he will score 18 points the following week but Liverpools defence looks awful

He only got 160 points a season or two ago due to Liverpool injuries in defence and their current central midfield is awful, i mean Milner shouldn't be playing should he

If they can't keep out Bournemouth then i might well be getting rid

    Haaland, Jesus
    (Iversen, Bailey, Andreas, Archer)
    2FT, 0.5m ITB

    A) Iversen to Sanchez/Raya and start him
    B) A + Bailey to ~4.5 to avoid more team value loss
    C) Something else?

People want to ship out Trent when he has been getting his shooting boots ready, well almost.

    Liverpool's form is temprorary.

People say this, and most people know liverpool will get stronger, but 7.5 is a lot to have a crappy defender waiting for form to turn.

Newcastle shredded City's defence and it will not be the last time this happens. All the 'smaller' teams know that the only way they will get goals and have a chance of beating the bigger teams is quick counter attacks.

We are seeing it every GW.

Zaha could have a field day vs City if Palace time their runs correctly, like the did vs LFC.

Indeed. Who do we reckon are the highly owned players most likely to be rotated? I think Perisic and Haaland are obvious but suspect Martinelli too.

Looking like Iversen will drop tonight.

Would you replace with Ramsdale or Sanchez?

Ramsdale has 2 homes coming up. Look decent for 2 clean sheets, but Sanches is gonna rise in price (probably) and is cheaper.

      Both are decent I think

I might get Mount for Foden if that helps.
Let the midweeks happen, something is bound to change FPL.

Mount has been getting chances but not converting, he will probably burn me

and his team are almost bottom after playing (arguably) 2 of the weaker teams in the prem.

at 7.5 you need some CS to go along with his assists and goals, but his team don't look good defensively. It's a hard call at 7.5, but yeah it's probably best to keep at least 1 more week with that fixture.

Zaha is always a trap. He never stays good for long. I will never be burned again.

      Rodrigo yeah though.

Rodrigo has never had a good season at Leeds.

Palace are much better under Veira.

For the next GW, which pair:
    1. Kane (nfo) + DaSilva (EVE)
    2. Toney (EVE) + either Diaz (BOU)/Gundo (CPL)
    3. Toney (EVE) + Rodrigo (bri)
