    Cheap defender advice, please.

    Brighton CB 4.5s (Dunk/Veltman) v Man Utd FB 4.4s (Dalot/Malacia).

    Which is the better route?

Torn between low and high risk!

Wow. Didn't see that one. Very good price, considering will likely be starter at Chelsea very soon. Not sure what he's like as a set piece threat though.

No, I meant for 4.4 I wouldn’t be too worried about set piece threat. I’d be jumping and clicking mine sabatons if he just played regularly.

          He's £75m of course he'll start!

Kouli, Thiago Fofana back 3 with two wingbacks.

And they'll likely need to rest Thiago sometimes, particularly when CL resumes in a couple of weeks.

This is likely, but Tuchel altered the formation to 2CBs today to help Sterling. In 2CBs there'll be some rotation (guess rest for Silva at times). Difficult to predict.

As I said above, price is irrelevant for Tuchel. Lukaku counter example.

But yes, I agree that 75m is a huge sum to be left on the bench.

Thiago and Azpilicueta will be the ones spared. I'd fully expect Kouli and Fofana to start almost every match when available.

Thanks. I agree with this, unless Tuchel plays 2CBs in which case he's bound to sometimes play Silva which means one spot for K2/Fofana on occasion.

A is better, but can't you split the transfers over two gameweeks? For example, Mount to Diaz this week and the other two next week using 2FT? That will also allow you to get the Cancelo clean sheet points against Forest.

Unless you want to take Pep at his word about Haaland not playing 3 per week and stick Kane in briefly. Big risk obviously.

      I wouldn't sell Martinelli

Tough call alright. But assuming Kane outscored Haaland midweek are you going to swap them back when Kane is about to face Fulham at home.. only Captain Hindsight knows the answer

Don't sell Martinelli. Burn that transfer. Or, you could sell Perisic to get some nailed players (if thats your style), or sell Ward to 3.9m if you want extra 0.1m in the bank (I would not do this unless absolutely required, but still an option), or move Archer to 4.4m (don't even know if there's any 4.4m forward).

      1. afsr
        • 9 Years
        3 years, 7 months ago

I guess rotation is a factor and i should sell Perisic but that's still booking a reverse transfer. The Archer to 4.4 idea is interesting, I'm short on funds to make a move like Neco to Dalot

        1. banskt
          • 12 Years

Yes, when in doubt, do nothing -- so burning the transfer is the best way. But, since you have the luxury of an extra transfer, getting an extra 0.1m in the bank from somewhere can be very helpful for future transfers in your squad.

    4. afsr

The bigger question is should i redistribute money to the bench because of rotation. Selling Cancelo could free up some cash

I don't know. That is why I would not cap Haaland.

He was perfect to cap vs Palace as many could predict he would play but will Pep start him vs Forest?

I guess that is what you need to figure out.

Great team. Mitrovic, Harrison is too much money on the bench for my liking. I have Gross, Anderson on my bench instead, but to each his own.

I think Jesus and Diaz are viable captain options. After today's captain haul from Haaland, I am considering Jesus next week because Haaland is rotation risk (if Pep is telling us the truth, who knows anyway?). Having said that, I generally want my captains to be on penalties. Neither Jesus nor DIaz is on penalties -- that is what is concerning me.

      Do nothing. Burn your transfer.

Or, switch Mendy to Sanchez to give you some money in the bank. Or, if you want, you could sell Greenwood / Ward to cheaper bench (4.4m / 3.9m -- not even sure if they exist) to squeeze out an extra 0.1m.

Haaland has Forest and just scored a hattrick.

                  Jesus is blanking.

I am not a serious player 🙂 , just a casual player having some fun 😉

If you are serious in this game you really ought to own Haaland though at his price 🙂

Yeah, I would rather go without as it is going to be a headache capping him, especially around CL.

This is a game afterall and having fomo is being to serious about it.

Are you scared of a game?

Lol no, just think Haaland at 11.5 was bit of a bargain, especially compared to Salah, KdB or Son.

Just gone up in price now so maybe he will not be such good value by the time you get him 😉

Alright i'll be that guy. I think he's a great option.

I also think he was very fortuitous today. First goal, fine, decent movement he was where he had to be for the header. Second goal... a Stones mis-hit and he's there to tap in. Third goal, good run with absolutely abysmal defending... sure he was strong but Ward was utterly hopeless and Andersen recognised the danger too late. He doesn't score that if you swap a decent defender with Ward.

Forest haven't been too bad so far but Villa have been leaking goals like a sieve and even lost to Bournemouth 2-0 and have conceded twice as many goals as Forest. I think Jesus has been a bit unlucky and is on for a mega haul this game week.

What is odd is not actually owning Haaland at all ... even casuals like me own him 😉

When are you buying him ? Seems odd for you to say not captaining him is odd because not owning him at all must be even more odd 😉

I hear that Chelsea got a penalty today, which was later ruled out by VAR. Sterling went for the penalty kick, even with Jorginho on the pitch. Is that true? If so, was it a special occasion treatment (hat trick for Sterling) or did Sterling just became the first choice for penalty duties?

He was holding the ball I think near the spot, but Jorginho was also there - guess he may have been given it to get his goals underway

What is everyone doing with Neto who hasn't been done with him already?

    I have 2 FTs. I'm thinking:

Gabriel and Neto to Saliba and Gross

A bit of a side ways move I know.

Only other issue I have is potentially Haaland but after today makes me think he only really needs 45 minutes to get points so I'm not too keen on getting rid just yet..
