The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Wednesday’s matches all on one screen, from LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points to the underlying Opta stats that have freshly arrived in our Premium Members Area.

Erling Haaland (£11.8m) was the star turn of the evening with a hat-trick and a 17-point haul, with Gameweek 5 captaincy rival Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) having to make do with two assists in Liverpool’s last-gasp 2-1 win over Newcastle United – a match in which Alexander Isak (£7.0m) scored on his Magpies debut.

Gabriel Martinelli (£6.4m) and Gabriel Jesus (£8.2m) continued their fine starts to the season with goals for Arsenal against struggling Aston Villa, while Harry Kane (£11.4m) made it four attacking returns in as many matches with an assist in Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with West Ham United.

Managerless Bournemouth, the side thrashed 9-0 by Liverpool on Saturday, managed to hold Wolverhampton Wanderers to a goalless draw: that’s now just two goals in five matches for Bruno Lage’s troops.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news, will follow tomorrow morning.

    Sanchez
    TAA Cancelo Perisic Walker Neco
    Salah Diaz Martinelli
    Haaland Jesus
    Ward Rodrigo Andreas Archer

    a) Hold Rodrigo, play Neco
    b) Rodrigo > Gross/6.5m for free
    c) Rodrigo/Neco > James/4.5 (-4)
    d) Other suggestions?

      I'm keeping Rodrigo.

You are looking to get James in C? Is he not injured? What's the story there.

Your team looks good. I'd maybe keep?

Erling Haaland already has as many Premier League hat tricks as Sadio Mane, Eden Hazard and Son Heung-min.

    A) James + 4.4 FWD -> N Williams + Mitrovic
    B) TAA + 4.4 FWD -> Saliba + Mitrovic
    C) Mendy + James + 4.4 FWD -> Sanchez + N Williams + Mitrovic (-4)

    Or something else?

And if he keeps scoring at this rate, he will have 38 goals in the end of the season

They are bad, but he's scored against Liverpool and Arsenal, so I wouldn't worry about that. I more worry about his price at the moment. It'll go up a decent chunk. I fancy fulham to do decently at home to Chelsea. They were decent against every other team at home so far.

Good evening all!! Early thoughts here, 0.1 in the bank, only 1 FT, assuming Rodrigo is out, team is…

    Sanchez
    TAA James Cancelo Waker
    Salah Gross Martinelli
    Haaland Jesus Mitrovic
    Subs- Ward Andreas Neco Rodrigo

Save??!!…. One option I’m considering is Rodrigo and Walker to Bernardo and Saliba, have the exact money for that one…

    Thoughts welcomed!!

    Cheers everyone!!!

Not sure I'd go for an Arsenal defender. Their fixtures are about to get a lot tougher.

I'd want to avoid a hit personally and probably roll the transfer and sell Rodrigo as part of 2FT

It’s really like old school vs new school right now

Experienced managers are split 50/50 on Salahs pedigree and expected minutes, and the explosive potential of Haaland

New managers have no concern of rotation, limited minutes, UCL games and it’s a simple Haaland (c) because he’s focal point of best attack in league

And no- I haven’t had the best captain choices this season

Ignore those moaning, your point was quite clear & bang on the money.

The cream always rises to the top, there’s a lot of players in the top 100k currently that won’t sustain a rank anywhere near 6 digits come the end of the season.

I’m an old school manager with 5x top 50k finishes. I captained Haaland because he has the best underlying stats in the league, the turnaround between gw4-5 wasnt particularly gruelling for City and the bookies had Haaland at less than a fifth of the price of Salah for a hat trick. A lot of people opted for Haaland despite considering rotation risks. In the end, Salah (c) isn’t that bad at all really… it’s a 7pt swing.

Agreed. I’m saying that it’s been a 50/50 split regarding captaincy with engaged, experienced FPL managers. Never said none were on Haaland

In the top 10k right now, even more than previous seasons, I would guess most have been Haaland perma-captain nearly all season, which hasn’t been the case with most of us on this website

I have got 4.2 M in the bank, but I have no idea who would be best to upgrade and to who. They are all doing good.

I have been getting 18-24 points on the bench every GW, so have downgraded suba, so not looking to have 4 bench dilemmas every week.

    SANCHEZ
    ALEXANDER-ARNOLD, CANCELO, JAMES, PERISIC, WHITE
    MARTINELLI, AARONSON, PERIERA, RASHFORD, KULUSEVSKI
    HAALAND, JESUS, MITROVIC

Selling Rashford gives me 10.5 M. There isn't really anyone at that price that appeals.

If Rashford will play as the main striker ad start every week, I would be tempted to keep him, but if Ronaldo stays, or he goes out wide, it would be him that goes.

I feel like you've got too many benching headaches. I would take some value out of your bench players. If you play 433 you're likely gonna have White and Aaronson on your bench or even Rashford? If you play 343 you'll likely have Perisic and White on your bench?

      1. Gubby-Allen
        • 4 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

Thanks. I sold JWP to Perieria to bring in 1.6m and have a permanent 3rd bench, as the points on the bench are getting ridiculous. I got over 20 and 99 points on bench boost last week but took a punt on Martinelli being rotated, so have his 10 and White's clean sheet for 6 again.

White and Aaronson or Rashford would generally be subs 1 and 2. I don't mind having White as he is only 4.5.

Any early ideas with 2 FTs?

    Ward
    Trent | Cancelo | Saliba | Neco
    Salah | Martinelli | Groß
    Kane | Haaland | Jesus

    Iversen | Andreas | Dasilva | Patterson

    0ITB

Feels like maybe burn a transfer with nothing in the bank?

    Thanks

Thanks, only just bought Groß this week so fancy keeping him a bit longer, especially after just selling Aaronson so assist was a bit annoying

Despite my own analysis predicting Haaland would get 60 minutes I didn't captain him at home against a promoted side despite him being the top scorer in the game.

Never have I felt so lucky to have escaped with a green arrow after seeing his hat-trick. Lesson learned.

Totally agree, you are not alone. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I made the same error and it was that lingering fear that Pep could just as easily benched him that made me go Salah. He who dares I suppose but clearly I’m not he. But I feel pretty fortunate … need to error on the opposite side of caution is the lesson I’ll try and take away.

Lol, Haaland is capable of getting 4 hatricks in a row let alone 3.
