FPL Gameweek 5: Wednesday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics

Erling Haaland (£11.8m) was the star turn of the evening with a hat-trick and a 17-point haul, with Gameweek 5 captaincy rival Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) having to make do with two assists in Liverpool’s last-gasp 2-1 win over Newcastle United – a match in which Alexander Isak (£7.0m) scored on his Magpies debut.

Gabriel Martinelli (£6.4m) and Gabriel Jesus (£8.2m) continued their fine starts to the season with goals for Arsenal against struggling Aston Villa, while Harry Kane (£11.4m) made it four attacking returns in as many matches with an assist in Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with West Ham United.

Managerless Bournemouth, the side thrashed 9-0 by Liverpool on Saturday, managed to hold Wolverhampton Wanderers to a goalless draw: that’s now just two goals in five matches for Bruno Lage’s troops.

      Wonder if WCs in play, weird that people are using FTs on fodder players when matches for current GW aren’t over yet. We’ve had two GWs in a row where we got late news about a popular FPL asset (Zaha and James).

    Plan to WC in gw8 so really looking for the best option for the next 2. Pretty sure Neco will play as 1st sub anyway but a little worried if Haaland is rested next game and James and Rodrigo are both currently flagged.

    Rodrigo to Gross the best move here?

      Selling Rodrigo is the priority. Zaha is the better choice, but that means you have to downgrade somewhere else (Salah? Trent? Cancelo?) and take a hit. It may be beneficial in the long run, but Rodrigo to Gross is simple and clean.

        Can't afford Zaha or even Odegaard without taking a hit somewhere. I'm wildcarding in gw8 so reluctant to take hits and not looking for anything long term - just a 2 week punt.

        If I get Gross in now, I might make a profit if he rises again before gw8. I can only replace Rodrigo with a 6.5mid or less
