FPL Gameweek 6: Saturday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics

The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Saturday’s matches all on one screen.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Ivan Toney (£7.1m) was the top-scoring player of the day with a Haaland-esque 17-point haul, while Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m) and Harry Kane (£11.4m) made it six attacking returns in as many matches with goals in Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Fulham.

Erling Haaland (£11.9m) hit the 10-goal mark after scoring in Manchester City’s draw with Aston Villa, meanwhile.

Budget defender Neco Williams (£4.1m) also popped up with an assist in Nottingham Forest’s 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth, while Kieran Trippier (£5.1m) inched his way into second in the FPL defenders’ points table with another clean sheet.

They were rare success stories on a pretty grim day for well-owned FPL assets such as Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Luis Diaz (£8.2m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m), Andrew Robertson (£6.8m), Marc Cucurella (£5.2m), Reece James (£6.0m), Ivan Perisic (£5.6m), Dejan Kulusevski (£8.2m), Joao Cancelo (£7.1m) and Son Heung-min (£11.7m), who all blanked.

    Kane in great form but still probably 4th choice forward pick is super annoying.

    Despite Salah disappointing so far, struggling to find a way to use the money. KDB, Son, Sterling seem like viable options, but they have all scored less than him so far. If I can't do much with the money, I'm struggling to find a reason to sell.

      Here's one which worked for me: I don't feel tempted to captain Salah any more. I am sure I would have missed the hauls from Haaland captain if Salah were in my team. Sure, KDB scored less, but with those captaincy points from Haaland, it was like playing with a cheat code.

        Interesting.

        Not sure I subscribe to that way of thinking though and there would have been other permutations which I think would have resulted in similar, if not less points for me.

      Would be good if some other mids like Bowen, Son or Maddison find form. I'm tempted to punt on Son in gw8 at Salah's expense

        Maddison looks a shoo-in for me. He somehow finds a way to pop up with something, even out of form

      When Mitro's and Toney's form takes an inevitable dip, Kane will still be banging them in week in, week out right through till next May. I'm definitely bringing him in alongside Haaland when I wildcard.

        I think it's viable long-term, sure, but once again the whole season is irrelevant right now.

        We only need to look until gw16 and Mitrovic looks extremely likely to rack up the points with those fixtures.

        I'd accept that Kane over Jesus could work though, but I'd be a bit wary. Jesus looks a better and more constant threat imo. A bit more luck and he'd have 10-20 points more already.

          One way of looking at it could be Jesus + Salah vs Kane + Saka/Odegard/Martineli.

          I still believe Liverpool can get their things together, but so much funds locked on Salah and TAA and they aren't doing anything.

      Gives plenty of options having no Salah stronger all round FPL squad - can rotate options easier based on fixtures. Plus many are risk adverse and terrified to sell Salah. Despite Salah clearly not being Liverpool’s focal point tactically. Plus Salah has been in terrible form and has been extremely lucky to get many of his latest FPL points.

        You say stronger all round squad, but I can literally pick my preferred other 13-14 players without needing extra funds.

        Salah to let's say Sterling gives me dosh to make some small, fairly pointless changes that may or may not be actually upgrades.

        This is similar to last year tbh, where there was just no need to save money to try and squeeze a more expensive player in.

        I think it comes down to simply, is Salah better than KDB, Son, Sterling? Maybe not long-term, but despite everything you've said, he still sits above them points wise so far.

        Numbers says otherwise. Luck is circumstancial. HAALAND with another pair of refs and Var, could have been sent off for that challenge on Andersen. Not saying it was red for me, but that was a fifthy fifthy which comes down to who judges.

      Auba will be a huge differential to get, it went sour for him at the end for Arsenal but he usually hits a new club running, and he's a goal machine when on form

        Personally I think Auba as a goal machine is past it. Sure he'll get some goals, but may turn out to be an expensive asset even for the 9m he's priced at.

          maybe, but i wouldn't be so quick to write him off, granted he's 33 and his best years are behind him but he's a lethal finisher especially compared to everybody else in that Chelsea squad and they have been crying out for a semi consistent striker for over a decade

    I'm now thinking of not WCing this GW and postponing it a couple GWs, as the team has started doing well I'd also like to give Salah the game against Wolves and KDB+Haaland double up looking hot right now so not much change needed there. Also gives me time to analyse my team further.

    The issue will be, whether to ditch both Jesus+Martinelli once the fixtures turn, or keep one. And whom??

      I'd keep Martinelli. There's currently a couple of cheaper options to Jesus who are actually outperforming him and although Gross is edging Martinelli at the moment he will start to tail off.

    Proof that captaincy pick is so important.

    I have players like Haaland, Toney, cancelo, Zaha, trippier etc yet sit at 920k.. I haven't picked a good captain yet (I had cancelo last week but Haaland scored bigger)

            Correct - the difference swapping captains makes is the difference between the points each scores (ignore doubling when you do this). However if you are doing a treble captain you need to double the difference.

      Yes you need him sell Salah for Bailey. Also, too much stock has been put in Pep's early comments about resting Harland. He said that before he knew hoe Harland would perform in the prem at first, so that he could bench him if needed if he wasn't performing, without a media storm and putting too much pressure on him. Given how he has started that's out the window IMO

      Hard to say yet. United have been playing conservative football, and as a result look solid. However, i can't help but think Ten Hag will at some point revert back to his preferred attacking style, and that's when United may start conceding a few goals.

    I think people are looking at the Pool vs. Wolves game with rose-tinted glasses:

    - Liverpool play mid-week, whilst Wolves will be fresh and ready
    - Wolves are a very well organised team; it will not be easy to break them down
    - Wolves are exactly the type of attack that can hurt Liverpool: a front 3 with pace, who will get in behind Liverpool's full backs.

    Liverpool should win, but I fancy Wolves to grab 1 goal at least.

      The grass ain't even that green on the other side really. Not convinced Cancelo is worth the extra over Walker this season, Forest defence seems too bad to play Neco no matter how attacking he is, and Man Utd / Chelsea still aren't in particularly good shape

          Chelsea are not that great at the moment. Zaha is also a differential and also does not have Europe so guaranteed to start.

          Bilva = Pep. Rashford I would not go near with UTD's new golden boy signing Antony. Mount is a big no.

        FWIW Fulham haven’t beaten us since 2006 but I do have an odd feeling about that game especially with it being an earlier kick off. Mitrovic will be a constant threat but I have seen enough from Silva, Koulibaly and Fofana (looked so classy yesterday) that they should be able to deal with him. It’s Mendy that I’m really worried about….

            Depends on the Zagreb game on Tuesday…who ever starts that probably won’t start Vs Fulham on Saturday.

            My personal opinion is Chilwell starts in a heavily rotated side on Tuesday and Cucurella misses out but comes back in on Saturday.
