The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Saturday’s matches all on one screen.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Ivan Toney (£7.1m) was the top-scoring player of the day with a Haaland-esque 17-point haul, while Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m) and Harry Kane (£11.4m) made it six attacking returns in as many matches with goals in Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Fulham.

Erling Haaland (£11.9m) hit the 10-goal mark after scoring in Manchester City’s draw with Aston Villa, meanwhile.

Budget defender Neco Williams (£4.1m) also popped up with an assist in Nottingham Forest’s 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth, while Kieran Trippier (£5.1m) inched his way into second in the FPL defenders’ points table with another clean sheet.

They were rare success stories on a pretty grim day for well-owned FPL assets such as Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Luis Diaz (£8.2m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m), Andrew Robertson (£6.8m), Marc Cucurella (£5.2m), Reece James (£6.0m), Ivan Perisic (£5.6m), Dejan Kulusevski (£8.2m), Joao Cancelo (£7.1m) and Son Heung-min (£11.7m), who all blanked.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extraa detail, will follow.

Thinking downgrading a defender like dias or James but where to then improve?

Even considering downgrading salah to dias to then get kdb?

Downgrade Cancelo and upgrade Gross. Tripper is a great asset to own.

Cancelo is not worth the outlay.

Ps. Trent could be facing rotation with Milner to keep him fresh with for CL weeks. The subs could have been tactical but rotation will happen.

Chilwell minutes will continue to be managed until he is at 100%…perhaps even after that. Cucu was never really Chilwell replacement, merely a filler but he can play on several positions and will remain part of first 11 more often than not.
I’m getting Chilwell on WC after GW 8.

Having watched the Spurs highlights it’s clear that Kulu is not even more of a rotation risk, even if yesterday was purely a rest. Richarlison past the RW audition with flying colours and I’m looking to ship Kulu this week. Best replacement:

Yes. Just see it possible to sell Cocu as well but only 4.3m to spend in DF.

Justin and Mings are two best 4.3m DF now.

          A Game... I like the pun 😀

3 yellows per game in the PL, just under 5 in the AL. Madness. No wonder he gave that as a foul.

In all seriousness, I kind of feel for him, much much much more experienced/senior referee requests he checks the monitor, going to feel like he's got it completely wrong, when really he had it right. The irony as well given the first ref to stick to his guns today and give a pen did so incorrectly, imo.

So folks, do we have a total of 3 Wildcards this season? The usual 2 x Wildcards for before and after the new year PLUS this extra Unlimited transfers (a Wildcard too is it) over the World Cup. Or are those unlimited transfers just that and your team will revert to what it was before GW 16 (when the unlimited transfer window began)?

Hope that makes sense, i'm confused, so possibly not. Cheers

      • 4 Years

Its effectively a 3rd wildcard for all during the World Cup but they're calling it "unlimited transfers"

No it's like 3 WC's but the World Cup break one is better than a WC as you can still play a chip (e.g. BB) in the next GW

Just watched MOTD from yesterday. Man those VAR decisions in the Chelsea and Newcastle games beggar belief. Absolutely mind boggling that even with the benefit of video replays, these morons are still getting decisions wrong. Ive said it many times before but there has to be corruption going on.

What annoys me even more though is when the managers of the teams that benefitted come out in their post match interviews and say the VAR decisions were right like Tuchel and Vierra yesterday. They just lose so much respect and credibility.

Why cant they just come out and say it was the wrong decision and they were lucky to have benefitted? Do they think they would have the points taken off them or something? Tuchel and Vierra are absolute clowns.

they don't give the guy on the pitch all the angles and freeze frame a motion that they've called correctly in real time.

      dozzy officials again.

There needs to be a retired player in there. Maybe from Championship level?

Ha didn’t see your comment before i posted. The decision for the Cornet goal was astonishing. Even most Chelsea fans are saying that it wasn’t a foul. I don’t see what Tuchel has to lose from admitting the same..

Not VAR related I suppose but that Villa goal that should have been was pretty bad officiating too

Yes that was another shocker. Using video replays to assist in decision making should mean there is simply no excuse for getting decisions wrong. Its utterly ridiculous.

Wouldn't be surprised if Tuchel named Mendy their man of the match after the game.

      Professional football is rotten, sadly.

Totally agree about managers defending rubbish decisions.
What can’t they just laugh, shake their head, and say “you’d have to ask the ref about that.”

That would at least be better but I would prefer them to just say 'it was the wrong decision and we got lucky' Tuchel and Vierra coming out and saying rubbish like 'it was a clear foul and was the right decision' honestly winds the hell out of me. Absolute morons.

It's sickening somehow for football fans, but the amount of money involved these days and the pressure on managers' position from all directions do not really help the standard of 'integrity'. Or is it really part of the game now? Of which I'm furious as a football fan. Just a thought.

Just watched match of the day. The standard of officiating in almost every game was utterly atrocious. Referees and VAR officials working together to wrongly influence match outcomes should not be the case in the so called best league in the world.

And it would be easy to sort out too. Just have an interview with the ref after the game.

“Why did you disallow the goal?”
“Foul on the goalkeeper by Willock”
“And what about the push on Willock by Mitchell?”
          “Er…”

You won’t achieve anything with public shaming and can’t blame stupid for been stupid.
The way forward is for Referee association to admit mistakes publicly and protect football from those referees by not allowing them to officiate again. Simple.

I’m not after public shaming. Just some accountability and explanation.
Did they miss Mitchell’s push? Did they see it but not think it was a foul? We just don’t know.
Explain the decisions and admit mistakes. We can all respect that.

But it’s done. It’s over. They will not change decision.

Just seen the VAR decisions from the Newcastle/Palace anf Chelsea/West Ham games.
I don’t understand. They are 2 of the easiest decisions to make you will ever see. Is there something in the rules that I’m missing?
The Newcastle one in particular is baffling. If the goal had been disallowed, the VAR would clearly have shown the push from Mitchell and allowed the ref to give the goal. It’s like an example of how VAR can improve the game - except it’s all in reverse!
    Shocking.

    2 FT:

    Raya
    TAA | Robertson | Cancelo | Perisic | Saliba
    Salah | Martinelli
    Haaland | Jesus | Toney

    Ward | Andreas | Dasilva | Reed

    Thinking:
    Robertson & Reed > Tripper & Sinesterra

Also tempted by Salah > KDB for a -4 but I may give Salah 1 more week. Thoughts? Other suggestions?

I’m thinking it may be time to ditch the full backs and go for the centre backs. Two reasons:
    1) The full backs cost more and aren’t doing much;
    2) Full backs are getting subbed before 60.

So, what do you think is better with this in mind:

    A) BERNARDO plus James, Chilwell, TAA, Cancelo

    B) KDB plus Saliba, Fofana, VVD, Dias

Possibly, but for me I'm not sure if its the right approach to have a blanket strategy rather than looking at it club by club. For instance, Trippier still has huge attacking upside & isn't getting subbed like the UCL teams.

City look like perhaps the best candidate for this strategy, even though Pep hasn't (yet) rotated his FBs much & doesn't have as much depth as usual, since the new tactics arent so FPL friendly for the inverted FBs.

With Liverpool's defensive form & tricky fixtures after Wolves, I think its Trent or no-one for me atm, but that could change. Looks like rotation will be rife at Spurs but their WB roles are so insanely good for FPL thats its hard to resist. I'm even considering Emerson despite how terrible he is! Fixtures also becoming an issue for Arsenal defenders (plus the loss of DMs), and I don't quite trust Chelsea enough for Fofana yet. I know he's super cheap but still feel like the price difference between him & James is worth paying
