The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Saturday’s matches all on one screen.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extra detail, will follow.

BRIEF ROUND-UP

FPL Gameweek 8: Saturday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics 9

Erling Haaland (£12.0m) made it 11 goals for the season with a strike in Manchester City’s 3-0 win over 10-man Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday lunchtime but he was outscored by Gameweek 8 captaincy alternatives Kevin De Bruyne (£12.3m), Harry Kane (£11.4m) and even second-half Tottenham Hotspur substitute Son Heung-min (£11.7m), who all bagged double-digit hauls.

De Bruyne provided two assists – his fifth and sixth of 2022/23 – to move top of the FPL midfielders’ points table, while Kane avoided a blank for the sixth straight match. Son scored a sensational hat-trick after coming on as a 59th-minute substitute, meanwhile, ending his goal drought in spectacular style as bottom-of-the-table Leicester City were thrashed 6-2.

The Foxes were abject defensively again but James Maddison (£7.9m) warmed up for Leicester’s favourable fixture swing nicely with a goal, topping the non-penalty expected goal involvement (NPxGI) table in Gameweek 8 so far.

Ivan Perisic (£5.6m) and Kieran Trippier (£5.3m) underscored their attacking potential with an assist apiece, compensating for clean sheet losses in their respective matches. Perisic somehow ended up with just two points, however, with a 54th-minute withdrawal compounded by a yellow card dished out for on-field encroachment after he was substituted.

Alexander Isak (£7.0m) and Youri Tielemans (£6.3m) were both on target from the spot for their teams on Saturday but the regulars penalty-takers of both Newcastle United and Leicester were off the field at the time; it remains to be seen if Isak has shunted the injured Callum Wilson (£7.2m) down the pecking order on Tyneside.

Which premium would you choose along Haaland?
Will be switching to Salah GW12.

    1) Kane with Foden
    2) Son with Toney/Isak
    3) KDB with Toney/Isak

I don't know what that question is, lol. If you mean my team? I've no premium defenders. Looking to get James for Perisic this week.

Would probably do Toney, Haaland, Mitro, KDB/Sterling on a WC. To allow for Cancelo, Tripp, James in defense

              I did
              GW7: TAA > Dalot (GW8 blank fail)
GW8: Sanchez, Salah, Jesus > Pope, KDB, Kane (-4)

Blanks kinda steered me into a Kane cap gamble. Although I like all GW8 moves for the mid-term. Already splurged my wildcard.

Nope - WC into GW8 but I just didn’t take into consideration he would get dropped. Fancied Leicester to score against Spurs and Forest - but like the option to move onto Auba/Darwin if needed. I should have stuck with the Kane/Maddison team I had earlier in the week!

People on WC9 won't pick Pope as much as they were about to do if NEW was keeping cs vs BOU, and that's a good thing

I’m having second thoughts about him on my WC, I see them conceding that one goal per game going forward so the question is how many saves can he make. Started to consider some punts like Guaita.

Newcastle dominated the game and got caught out - Pope will get clean sheets in home games for sure.

Nothing between him and Guaita anyway imo.

Guaita would have got 150 points last time out on an injury free season and the fixtures point his way too for the next run.

Palace def this season has been tremendously bad, worst in the league and that’s because of weakening in the midfield after Gallagher’s departure

They are the worst according to the xGC but maybe that’s a bit harsh because they faced some good attacks

Don’t like the Newcastle triple in defence. The 3 x premium is leaving the midfield and attack lacking depth (Gordon & Solanke).

It is and I might be getting a bit giddy after going against him this GW and it working out. However, if Varane and Martinez are both fit I don't think he will haul and I was impressed by Maddison yesterday - he looked the focal point of everything they did and they play Nottingham Forest at home next GW who are the leakiest defence in the league

Didn't work out for me with Mitrovic but I don't really regret the decision - think the target Forest plan is definitely on, especially if you think Man Utd can keep things reasonably contained

definitely agree he is the safest option but not necessarily the best option. I can see City winning by one or two goals but I don't think both of those will necessarily come from Haaland so it could be worth a punt?

I can't even express how much I regret not going with Saka-Martinelli double up on wildcard. Maybe it's just a fan in me talking, but I honestly think we'll score against all 4 opponents before the blank gameweek.

I was very busy, but somehow still came across NLD postponement rumours and couldn't check numerous sources in time to find out if it's just lies. Then I went for Zaha straightaway and "saved" a future transfer. Now I'm annoyed at myself for doing so. Goddammit!

          They’ll walk it this season.

    Pope
    James / Cancelo / Trippier / Coufal
    Sterling / Foden / Martinelli
    Haaland / Kane / Mitro

Ward / Andreas / Neco / Da Silva

    1.7 ITB

Roll or Sterling to Maddison plus cash? (Would then upgrade Da Silva to Zaha next week.)

Jesus points make little difference. Actually, not to bad about 4,800 places per point.

Each Raya point is worth about 20,800 places according to Live FPL.

The game at the bottom is massive, if Everton can get a 1 nil win then West Ham are in trouble on 4 points.

Of course, they could climb to 7 points themselves. I'd expect a tight and firery encounter at Goodison Park.

Fixtures are not amazing are they but both looked very good yesterday. The caveat on Son is whether he just doesn't play nearly as well when Perisic plays. I stole this point from someone's comment earlier but it's possible a very valid consideration.

Considering getting Kane in for Jesus and Gross (Bailey) to have the Son-Kane double up for a -4

or just a simple Gross to Maddison for free

    Ederson
    James Cancelo Trippier
    Son Gross Martinelli Zaha
    Jesus Mitro Haaland
    Ward Neco Andreas Schaar

Jesus to Vardy (c) another option

Its a combination of things. Whilst I have to concede that in hindsight I have made a couple of wrong calls, Ive been on the wrong end of some pretty extreme variance with a number of things week after week.

GW1 I had Kane (C) and Son. Spurs score 4 and only an assist from Son and nothing from Kane and - 1 from Ait Nouri. GW2 more minus points from Saliba, Nunez and Mitrovic.

Kept faith with Son for 5 weeks and he does nothing. A 12m player in poor form, getting subbed off early and the constant threat of being dropped with Richarlison forced an understandable sell. Then of course he gets a hat trick when I dont have him.

Its just been this sort of filth week in week out apart from one solitary good week.

Im not sure there is too much value in saying what my team is now as its obviously been changing over the weeks. I could in theory have all the top scorers in my team now so my team looks good but not had those players at the right time when they were scoring points.

I wouldn't worry at this stage, a lot of people ahead of you have probably already played their triple captain or bench boost, theres more teams this year as well and its still early in the season so a few good gws can boost your rank a lot.

Keep at it but also take a break if its bringing you down, sometimes no transfers can work out alright, my best gw last year was when I forgot about an early deadline and hadn't set my team up how I would've like it.

Initial plan was Salah to Son (but never Cpt though).

After reading up decided not too, to many doubts for a start in a blank gw where every transfer in needs to play for sure.
And in the end sound decision with bad outcome, but no hard feelings.

Sometimes getting more info is not always the best I guess!!
