The news that many Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers had been expecting and possibly fearing arrived on Saturday evening.

It’s now been confirmed that Reece James (£6.0m) faces two months on the sidelines with the knee injury he picked up in last week’s clash with AC Milan.

That will not only put him out of domestic action until Gameweek 17 but also very likely the World Cup, too.

A Chelsea club statement read:

“Following the knee injury sustained in our away match against AC Milan, Reece has received treatment from the Chelsea medical department and visited a specialist this weekend.

fter consultation between all parties, Reece will now undergo a rehabilitation programme and is expected to be out for eight weeks.”

2 FTs, 2.2ITB, which do you prefer?
    A and C allow Bilva -> Foden for gw13.

    A) Madi, Kane -> Salah, Solanke
    B) Madi, Kane -> Salah, Darwin
    C) Madi, Emerson -> Trossard, Gomez/Dunk

    Guaita
    Trips Kilman Neco Emerson
    Bowen Zaha Andreas
    Kane Mitro

    Ward Cancelo* Bilva* Haaland* Madi*

I’m very tempted. It’s whether a -12 over two GWs is worth saving free hit for.

                I’m just unsure right now

I’ve just worked out that as I’d lose my FT, and I need James out anyway. I’d be taking a -8 next week to get Salah and Foden in.

So it’s actually not worth it for me.

                    No FH.

Thanks mate!!! Going into 13 my plans were Saka and Foden In for Trossard and Martinelli -4 so if I FH I can do that!! Or even just Trossard to Foden or Saka fro free, have money in the bank so FH is actually a sensible option for me !!

    2FT 2.3m ITB

    Pope
    Webster Trippier Neco
    Zaha Andreas
    Kane Mitro

Ward - Haaland Maddison Cancelo Martinelli Foden Patterson*

Totally missed price changes last night, but will probably do Patterson > Guehi, does Maddison > Trossard (then Trossard out to Saka in 13) make the most sense?

    1. GoonerSteve
      • 16 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

Been considering the exact same moves lol.

I sold Patterson last night for Guehi. That allows me to field 9. Looking at Maddison out and have up to 9.8 to spend on replacement but leaning towards Trossard. Then Saka week after.

Made some early moves that I didn’t like, Zaha and Kane in when I’d much prefer Salah and want Jesus back.

Am I best just sucking it up, taking a minus 8 and then -4 next week - or free hitting?

Jesus, KDB, James and Maddy sold so far.

Jesus was reported as a doubt for the game, but no yellow flag

Same happened with Anthony Gordon, he was suspended for the game. but didn't have a red flag

Arteta's comments about Jesus only came out on Saturday (embargoed from Thursday) so I guess there was no point doing it then given the GW had begun. Gordon is a weird one though

Quite obvious to WC these lot for GW12 right or would your use 2FTs to work around it and WC gw13 to bring in city/arsenal?

    Bowen Maddison* Martinelli*
    Kane Haaland* Jesus*

If you are thinking of getting rid of Madds now is a good time as it is a (-2) at worst..

Mads has three away games in the next four and a home tie with city

For this week I'm sure the 'expert' / 'best' choice would have been Peresic or Doherty, other than Dunk/Guehi for the fixtures play.

Most went with Doherty, some other options Guehi, Dunk/Webster. I went with Kilman and will probably add one of the above for Patterson this week

I didn't make the movie this week as I had Trippier, Saliba and Cancelo

Am still looking for who is the best option until the WC break.

Is -4 to shore up this weak 9-man team enough to scrape through GW12?(Was planning GW 13 WC)

Moves would be Maddy, James > (C) Salah and best possible defender.

    Sanchez
    Neco, Trippier, Kilman, *James
    Andreas, *Maddison, Bailey
    Mitro, Toney,

(Ward, Martinelli, Haaland, Foden, Cancelo; £7.4M itb)

      Sounds reasonable.

Who is the best possible defender though?

Thanks - that's the thing... will have roughly £8M so tempted by Robbo (especially as I can WC him out), but might just play the fixture with one of the Brighton lads. Spurs also tempting me.

Looking at team - Yes (-4) hit to replace James & Maddison & possible one out of
Martinelli/Haaland, Foden or Cancelo with enough money ITB to get back in GW13 WC

Thanks for feedback - was thinking same, but reluctant to take a -8 with WC in my pocket, feels like one or the other! Good luck with your team.

Anyone considering FH when you’re carrying James and/or TAA…

Don’t. You’re just kicking that can down the road.

Anyone considering it because they’ve got 5/6 city and arsenal and/or Maddison…

I think it’s a sensible move. Fixtures to target and you keep your gun players into the following week when city are rested and arsenal have great fixtures.

The difficult one is people with 3/4 players with no fixture. My bench of Cancelo, Foden and Haaland is painful to look at

Due to other fires I still own TAA, should I ride it out now hoping he'll pick up some points and regain value or just cut my losses?

Depending if TAA fit again & if yes might as well keep
& look at dealing with the other fires

Depends on how near a return he is. I would loathe to sell him ahead of NFO in GW13

Can I please get your early thoughts on this messy team for GW12? WC used, got 1 FT & 1.9 ITB.

    Pope
    Trippier Dunk Neco Emerson*
    Zaha Andreas KDB* Maddison*
    Mitrovic Bamford

    Ward Haaland* Cancelo* Martinelli*

Currently fielding 8 so I am thinking about a -8 hit:

KDB, Maddison, Emerson > Salah (C), Trossard, Guehi/Gomez

Trossard will become Foden in GW13 with my FT. Thinking the Guehi/Gomez hit should also work as I wouldn't have to play Dunk (mci, CHE) in GW13 and 14 and it would allow me to bring Jesus for Bamford down the line.
