FPL Gameweek 12: Wednesday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics

The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Wednesday’s matches.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extra detail, will follow later.

BRIEF ROUND-UP

Amazon missed their expected delivery of goals as six clean sheets were banked across tonight’s fixtures.

Newcastle United were among the sides shutting out the opposition and are now joint-top for clean sheets (five) in 2022/23, as well as first for fewest goals conceded (nine). Kieran Trippier (£5.7m) took maximum bonus to move first in the FPL defenders’ points table, while Miguel Almiron‘s (£5.3m) scarcely believable form continued as he curled in his fifth goal of the season – that’s more than he has managed in any of his previous seasons with Newcastle, and we’re only in mid-October

An obdurate defence is not what a tired-looking Tottenham Hotspur need this weekend, as Harry Kane‘s (£11.5m) blank-less run finally ended at Old Trafford. A slowly improving Manchester United took all three points and since their season kickstarted in Gameweek 3, only Arsenal have registered more points and no-one has kept more clean sheets (four).

Rotation bit hard for Chelsea and Liverpool, with both managers making five changes apiece. The two sides could only muster one goal between them, a Darwin Nunez (£8.8m) header, and were indebted to their goalkeepers for their respective results: Alisson (£5.4m) saved a Jarrod Bowen (£8.2m) penalty, while the impressive Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.4m) was forced into five saves against Brentford.

Both Alisson and David Raya (£4.5m) have now banked back-to-back double-digit hauls.

And on a night of shut-outs, it was fitting that Southampton – the only club in the league who had conceded in every game before tonight – recorded their first clean sheet of the season.

couldn't watch the game yesterday. How did TAA do? worth taking him for the next 4 liverpool games?

Or is Nunez the man to go for?

I think Trent is too much money for Liv defence at the moment. But you'd imagine they'll keep a CS against Forest....

Trent was largely anonymous. Nunez could have had a hat trick but his finishing isn’t quite there. He was also hooked before 60 mins so missed out on bonus. Neither worth the price tags right now imo.

Got 2 FT. Will do Mount to Foden with one. Should I roll the other or get Kepa (Pickford/Begovic combo at the moment).

I suppose Pickford coming into nice set of fixtures now, so may come good?

Same question again today. Wondering if the results will differ after the Salah blank yesterday.

    Team is:
    Kepa Iversen
    Cancelo Trippier Dier Gomez Neco
    Salah Zaha Martinelli Almiron Andreas
    Haaland Kane Mitrovic

    Which line is best?

    A) Zaha > Saka (can't afford Foden)
    B) Mitrovic + Almiron > Foden + Archer -4
    C) Salah + Andreas > Foden + Saka -4
    D) Kane + Almiron > Foden + Jesus -4

A is the only one I'd give consideration to, but I'd say hold for a week. I think you can make 11 out of that and open up your options for the following GW.

This is a good week to attack imo. The fixture swings for Arsenal and City are now imo.

I'm leaning D honestly. I can do D and save Almiron too by selling Andreas.

No. I have good bench depth. I'll happily roll out another one of my defenders or Andreas if he gets suspended. Being brave about the YCs also offers an opportunity against more cautious managers.

To be honest, they all seem like taking a hit for taking a hit's sake.

If you don't want Salah just swap him out for Foden.

Everyone is clamouring for Saka but Martinelli is only a few points behind him.

Zaha is in the form of his life, on pens and is nailed on with lovely fixtures till the WC and beyond .

I like Foden and all, and will probably get him in but there's equally productive players you can have or keep.

        I don't agree.

The hits are to buy City and Arsenal players who are the best teams in the league attack wise and they also have good fixtures. You have to be aggressive to stay ahead. If you wait until your players fall out of form before making transfers you'll have lost ground.

Other than Håland and Kane who has scored more Prem goals this year?

He's nailed on and absolutely pivotal to his team.

A - is a good transfer on its own.
      B - not worth a hit
C - leaves a bit of a benching dilemma but would prefer to own Foden and Saka. Maybe Almiron instead Andreas and bank the change for future.
D - Could be worth it. But Kane has BOU next and Jesus on 4 yellows.

      Tricky.

Also, feedback about A being a good transfer on its own is valuable and considered.

Thanks folks for engaging. I know it seems like I have made my mind up a lot of the times when I ask but I genuinely haven't so it's helpful.

This is also why I can seem to 'change my mind' last minute. But the truth is I'm nowhere near as sure as I appear to be. I just write with conviction 😛

Currently think 1A, then B next week. Thoughts?

    Anyone on WC.........
Ask yourself this....why have a 12.8m player you will not captain? Surly best to bring in few of the 8m mids and spread the money around.

    1. Mr. O'Connell
      • 11 Years

The beauty of WC this week is this. Those of us who WCd last week got suckered into Salah because 1) he looked on it Vs City and 2) lack of captaincy options meant it felt comfortable to go with old faithful.

Wouldnt go near him on WC now.

    2. Dunster

      This is the dilemma.

Trouble is even with Salah the GW13 side looks so strong anyway, especially if you have Toney and Mitro up front with Haaland.

I’m tempted by losing Salah (replacing with Bowen - already have Foden, Saka, Martinelli) and upgrading the pairing with Haaland to Nunez and Jesus or even Jesus and Kane.

      1. Baked baines
        • 9 Years

Defo a false sense of security with Salah. That Rangers and City game made him essential again. With Haaland hes captain every week now

Didn't watch Palace game but was lurking here during the game. Everyone was hating his performance and we're sure to get rid. One goal and he's a great pick again. Bowen misses a pen and is trash pick. If Zaha blanks and Bowen buries the pen, the consensus would be mirrored here.

Fickle lot aren't we. For what it's worth I think Bowen and Zaha are great picks still, but just think the upside is higher with Foden/Saka simply as the teams they are in score more goals. Also think there are cheaper viable alternatives for WHU and CRY in Scamacca and Eze if you wanted to cover these teams still.

If on WC 13 then you for sure need to go triple Arsenal, City and Liverpool as a start + add Trippier + maybe some west ham

      Id go here
      Fabianski
Cancelo Gabriel Zouma VVD or TAA (cash dependent)
      Salah Foden Saka Martinelli
      Darwin Haaland
      Ward Trippier , fodder

Maybe then drop VVD to Zouma and upgrade Fab to Allison?

Id remove Ward to 3.9mil and also get 4.3mil forward and 4.3mil midfielder, 3.9mil defender

You would be fine with 12 for 4 weeks

Is selling Ederson for a hit to get Foden a bad move? or should I wait for 4 gws until the WC break to make this move on WC?

    Ederson + Trossard -> Kepa/Raya/Pickford +Foden (-4)

I am in exactly the same boat

Have put it off for fews but now thinking to just ride out the remaining few weeks

Foden will probably outscore him, but im hoping Zaha can match foden for my time

Thinking of just going with Haaland as premium option on WC.
    What do you reckon?
    Raya Ward
    TAA Cancelo Trippier Gabriel Neco
    Foden Saka Antony Martinelli Andreas
    Haaland Darwin Scamacca

Couple of punts in there but it's only for a few GWs.

Looks good. If intending to play 3 at back you can probably downgrade Gabriel and Trippier to a rotating pair of 4.5 (Guahi at Palace 4.4) and upgrade Scammacca to Jesus or Bobby

    GW 14.

    Salah+Zaha+Solanke > Foden+Saka+Darwin (-4)

    Sound good?

    Thanks.

Salah will most likely be in the front 2 with Darwin

      Dont sell

        I'll definitely hold for Forrest.
But he did play wide last night for as long as Darwin was on the pitch.
Plus Darwin got the best opportunities.

If I don't captain Salah there's no point holding him IMO.

      Leicester are getting battered tonight

I won't mind if they get battered as long as Barnes gets one attacking return. Are you a Leeds fan?

Anyone considering selling Kane for Darwin?

May do that as my FT this week

I'm sure many are. If he keeps getting hooked early, the move may backfire. He could run riot against Forest, of course.

Darwin is a good option. Just feel the penalties give Kane an advantage.

Any chance there'll be price changes for any of the following before deadline?

    Maddison, Aaronson, Martinelli, Foden

Maddison should drop and foden could increase by deadline

Would you prioritise getting Ben White or Diogo Dalot?

I would go White. Man U have a great fixture run but it's awkward in that it spans the world cup. If unlimited transfers during world cup was not a thing then ManU players would be essential from week 14/15. As it is they are merely an option to end this half, start the next half.

Why was Darwin subbed so early last night? Was it tactical?

    Which 2 to play:
    A) Dier (NEW)
    B) Trippier (tot)
    C) Andersen (eve)
    D) Zouma (BOU)

On A/B currently but think C/D have better chances at clean sheet.
