We round up the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points from Tuesday’s fixtures in our Scout Notes summary.

The graphics below are taken from LiveFPL and our own Premium Members area, where you can access Opta player and team data for every single Premier League fixture.

Brighton’s winless run under new boss Roberto De Zerbi continued in Gameweek 12, as they failed to score for the third consecutive match. In an absolutely textbook performance, Albion dominated and had plenty of efforts on goal, yet there was no end product, like at Brentford on Friday.

“In my experience in the Premier League it’s not the first time my team play like this and we can’t win. I don’t want to speak about whether it’s unfair or unlucky. I say thanks to the players. Today I enjoyed a lot. I watched a very fantastic game. We shoot 20 times, we have a lot of chances. We have to work in the last 20 metres to choose the best solution. We have to attack the space better, to work in the last pass.” – Roberto De Zerbi

Leandro Trossard (£6.9m), now owned by over 20 per cent of managers, lined up at left wing-back in De Zerbi’s 3-4-2-1, but carried a threat, often cutting inside onto his stronger right foot. The Belgian saw a powerful effort rattle the crossbar and was twice denied by good saves from Dean Henderson (£4.7m).

Above: Brighton’s average position map v Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 12. Number 11, Leandro Trossard, accumulated more final-third touches (44) than any player from either side

Their defence, meanwhile, has now kept four clean sheets this season – only Manchester City have more (five). In three of those matches, Lewis Dunk (£4.6m) has received bonus.

However, owners of Brighton’s assets will now need to bench or sell them, with games against Man City and Chelsea to come.

As for Nottingham Forest, they showed good discipline at the back but no real quality in the final-third. They have only scored seven goals all season, with just one arriving in their last four matches.

A more reserved approach has seen them tighten up, however, with Neco Williams’ (£4.1m) owners celebrating an unlikely clean sheet in Gameweek 12. The Welshman’s attacking threat has dried up since Forest shifted to a 4-3-3, but his positional versatility was on show at the Amex, as he lined up at left-back until Serge Aurier (£4.5m) departed.

“Every point is valuable, so is a clean sheet and tonight the boys were warriors. Every man ran their socks off. I’m so proud of them all. We’ve conceded a lot of goals so far this season so the manager said we need to stop that and build on that foundation. In the last couple of games I haven’t been that busy but I was tonight.” – Dean Henderson

Brighton and Hove Albion XI: Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Webster; March, Mac Allister, Caicedo, Trossard; Gross (Undav 85), Lallana (Lamptey 64); Welbeck

Nottingham Forest XI: Henderson; Aurier (Toffolo 69, Biancone 86), Cook, McKenna, Williams; Yates, Freuler, Mangala (Kouyate 61); Gibbs-White, Lingard (Worrall 86), Johnson (Awoniyi 86)

In his past four league outings prior to Gameweek 12, Wilfried Zaha (£7.5m) hadn’t hit the heights his owners were probably expecting from him, delivering a solitary assist against Leeds United.

However, after the break on Tuesday, he was unplayable at times, with his well-taken winner capping Crystal Palace’s comeback.

At home, Zaha has now produced either a goal or assist in four of his six appearances, with 16 of his 21 shots inside the box arriving on home turf.

“I took it upon myself to move from left-wing and float a bit. It opened up room for Tyrick [Mitchell]. It made a confusion in their defence, who to go to, and that opened them up a bit.” – Wilfried Zaha

“In the second-half he [Zaha] came to play between the lines, he was a bit more central and that allowed him to combine with other players and that was better for us.” – Patrick Vieira

Above: Wilfried Zaha’s touch heatmap v Wolves in Gameweek 12 (left) and v Leicester City in Gameweek 11 (right)

Eberechi Eze (£5.6m) also impressed, as he produced his second double-figure haul in three matches. Just six of his 17 shots have arrived inside the box this season, yet it’s hard to argue against the value he is offering, given that he has also created 16 chances, more than any teammate.

For Wolves, they are now winless in 10 successive Premier League away matches.

At Selhurst Park, they handed two full debuts to Hugo Bueno (£3.9m) and Boubacar Traore (£4.5m), with the former producing an excellent assist for Adama Traore’s (£5.5m) opener. It remains to be seen if Bueno has done enough to keep his place, but if he can, he is one to monitor given his £3.9m price tag.

“We’d been talking about him [Adama Traore] getting to the back post. He’s doing that now. It [the goal] was the best move of the game for us. Excellent goal. It could have been different if we stated the second half better.

Hugo [Bueno] had a fantastic debut. He was excellent. He came as a kid from Spain as a 10 and we converted him to wing-back. Full-back today. Rayan [Ait-Nouri] was ill so we made a late situation change. He didn’t let anyone down.” – Steve Davis

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita; Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Doucoure, Schlupp, Eze (Riedewald 90); Olise (Ayew 80), Zaha, Edouard (Mateta 81)

Wolverhampton Wanderers XI: Sa; Semedo, Collins, Kilman, Bueno; B Traore (Moutinho 58), Neves; A Traore (Guedes 58), Nunes (Hodge 58), Podence; Costa (Hwang 75)

I'll go against the grain and say that in reality you only need to really do 1 of those moves this GW.

Maddison & Zaha have okay fixtures. Wolves not the strongest (although slightly better performance 1st half yesterday) & Everton concede a fair few chances down their wide areas which could be beneficial for Zaha.

Feel free to do both but keeping that FT spare in case anything happens to any other player is useful too - although your squad is in a great place.

Yeah I guess Foden is the bigger priority to get and Maddison to get rid of.
But I do like the differential Saka is over everyone's Zaha this week.

Hi, I’ve just arrived in Thailand on vacation for a few weeks.

My planned transfer is the popular Trossard to Saka move but have exact funds.

Does anyone know roughly what time price changes occur? (Think I’m about 6 hours ahead of UK time).

Just got back to the UK after spending over a year in Thailand. It will be 02:30 UK time for the price changes so 08:30 in Thailand which isn't so bad.

The evening kick offs are gonna be a killer to stay up for.

I visited pre-Covid and stayed in Hua hin, visited Pattaya, Koh Larn etc.

Currently in Sukhumvit area of Bkk, never been before and it’s a little crazy. Here for 5 days and not quite decided where next.

Next year I will do the islands in the south, and after that Chiangmai and explore that area.

Not football related I know….ha ha

Haha I know not football related. Travelled the whole country during Covid. The islands in the South are amazing - especially the ones by the Andaman Sea.

Sukhumvit is indeed a bit crazy. Especially around the Nana Plaza area. Terminal 21 is a really nice mall with an amazing and ridiculously cheap food court on the 5th floor. Sportsman in Sukhumvit 13 is a decent place to watch the weekend footy.

Prefer to stay near Khao San when in BKK

Visited T21 in Pattaya last time, great mall, will have to check this one out. It’s a great excuse to escape the midday heat.

I’ll check out the sportsman, thanks.

They look like mostly good moves, but -20 is a big hole to dig and will take a few weeks to get out of. Can you edit it down a bit? Prioritise Cancelo, Foden & Saka?

When you factor in the fact you can make a free transfer each week, that -20 could be as small as a -4 across four weeks.

Not saying don't take a hit but a -20 is excessive.

I ended up ahead of the curve for the next few weeks - squad value increased as a result and allowed me to develop an optimal team that others mostly couldn't afford to replicate.

        Pope (iversen)
        Cancelo, Trippier, Guehi (Dunk, Neco)
        Salah, Martinelli, Zaha, Almiron (Andreas)
        Kane, Haaland, Mitro

My plan was to get Saka for Trossard in 13 and play team below. Would mean no Salah v Liverpool. Got 3 m in bank - assuming no injuries rest of 12 would you

          A get Saka as planned
B Trossard to Salah and Kane to either Toney Firmino or Jesus ( or which striker would you go with up to 8.4 m?) -4. In this scenario could switch Zaha to Saka in 14 if I wanted

          Pope
          Trippier Doherty Cancelo
          Foden Saka Zaha Martinelli
          Kane Haaland Mitrovic

          Ward Castagne Andreas Guehi

I used my WC for GW12.

I decided to have Kane and ignore bringing in Salah.
Looking at all the teams who are top of my MI's. Everyone has gone Salah (c).

Your thoughts of the following GW13 wildcard will be appreciated:

          Raya (Ward)
          Cancelo, Saliba, Trippier, Guehi, xxx
          Foden, Saka, Martinelli, xxx, Andrea
          Haaland, Toney, xxx

          A) Kane + Bowen + 5.1 def
          B) Kane + Zaha + 5.8 def
          C) Salah + Mitrovich + 5.2 def
          D) Other ideas?

Over-reliant on 3 teams for me but if you like City, Arsenal and Pool that much then go for it. All your midfielders and forwards are from same 4 teams.

          Don't get the Kepa love.
Unlimited transfers during the World Cup means that all transfers now is for four weeks only and there are goalies with better fixtures the next four GWs. Pickford, Guaita and Raya to mention some.

          Current WC draft:

          Guaita/Pickford - Ward
          Saliba - Gomez - Cancelo - Trippier - Mee
          Salah - Foden - Martinelli - Zaha - Andreas
          Jesus - Haaland - Toney

Consider to go Saka + fodder for Jesus and Andreas since Jesus is on 4 YC. Toney and Saliba are as well, but wanna keep both.

            Good balance in the squad.
If Jesus does get the 5th YC then you would still have a decent team to put out. Shouldn't be an issue. You can limit your exposure by going with a different defender and go for Ramsdale in goal instead.

Thanks. Could be a way to go. Would give me 4.7 for the defender. Need to consider that, but not sure who it should be. Palace defs have a great run, but not much attacking threat.

I don't think tons of people are prioritising the GK transfer. He's a good kick but some forwards are worth prioritising given some upcoming fixtures

            GW13: LIV vs. NFO
GW14: MCI vs. LEI & ARS vs. NFO

Then Kepa has ARS & NEW in GW15 & 16.

Sure, but still alot of WC drafts with Kepa and others recommending him. Yes, it's only 4.4 for a Chelsea goalie, but still.

Agree about Kepa, was considering moving to him then realised having Raya all this time should hopefully be paying off next, 3 superb fixtures and then Ward covers the City game in GW16

Both should play majority of minutes.

Since City are 4 points behind now and comfortable in UCL, i think Foden and Haaland should be getting more rests in Europe and more starts in the PL.

Firmino has been in amazing form and with their injury concerns i think will play majorly as the target man.

Best way to get Saka and Foden in my team in the next two gw?
          Trossard easy out, but then?

          A) just do Trossard+Zaha to Foden+Saka in gw 13

          B) Trossard to Foden/Saka gw13, Salah to the other one gw14 and will then have alot of cash to upgrade maybe Solanke to Kane or other positions.

          C) Trossard out for Foden/Saka and downgrading Pope to Raya/Guaita, so i can make Sinisterra to the other one of Foden/Saka

          Pope, Ward
          Cancelo, Trippier, Guehi, Webster, Justin
          Salah, Martinelli, Zaha, Trossard, Sinisterra
          Haaland, Mitro, Solanke

All five games tonight have some edge.

I've taken a day's leave and intend to chill.

But it's going to be brilliant. Calling outcomes of games is so much more likely than nailing the exact score...

Great midweek matches, addition of Arsenal and City would have made it a brilliant GW for the neutrals
