Gameweek 16 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) continues this lunchtime as Brighton and Hove Albion host Aston Villa at the Amex.

The Seagulls enter Gameweek 16 having won their last three games in all competitions, playing some excellent football along the way, while Unai Emery enjoyed a superb first game in charge of Aston Villa, overcoming Manchester United 3-1. However, they lost to the same opponent 4-2 in midweek as they crashed out of the EFL Cup.

Roberto De Zerbi makes two changes from the side that beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 last weekend, with Levi Colwill and Danny Welbeck replacing Adam Webster and Kaoru Mitoma, both of whom are ill.

As for the visitors, Unai Emery makes three alterations from Gameweek 15, as Boubacar Kamara, John McGinn and Danny Ings all come into the starting XI. That means Leander Dendoncker and Leon Bailey drop to the bench, while Ollie Watkins misses out. The latter two were both ill on Saturday, which Emery touched on in his pre-match interview.

“Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey were both sick yesterday. This morning Bailey was getting better and he’s in the squad. Ollie [Watkins] is impossible because he continued to be sick.” – Unai Emery

Bailey subbed in to block 13 pts rodrigo on bench.

To top it off nicely he gets booked.

    Never again.

For me, Henrick Mhiktikarian (sp) once blocked a 16pt haul from Ryan Fraser.

It was my fault for getting the slow, diaper shorts, duffer on my team. Mihikti was straight garbage. Probably playing in China these days

33 years ago, Inter and AC Milan were like Man City and Liverpool today.

Now they are like Crystal Palace and Everton.

For Week 17 i think i this value

    Kepa (Ward)
    Cancelo White Dalot Trippier Bueno
    Saka Martinelli Rashford Foden
    Kane Haaland Darwin

Maddison to replace Rasford after week 20 and roll with the for 8mil mids

Can look into the likes of Diaz / Kulu with fixtures later

Ya he is only there for fixtures , cant really ignore Forest Bou and Wolves, pretty much the bottom 3

I will ship him out week 20

        Ya lets see

All dependent on the WC currently. Kane is the only one of those nailed

All debatable how much minutes Trippier Saka and Foden get

Southgate could go with Walker / Sterling / Grealish / Mount or rotate in and out

That’s my front 7 at the moment mate before looking at transfers

Have Sanchez & Ward Kepa in for Sanchez looks nice

      Defence similar

White is Saliba & Bueno is Castagne

Its just so i have a draft in mind prior to coming back

Very much could change but i think the idea is to go without Salah due to lack of captaincy and very nice midfield options

I also can have 1-2 players out week 17 with that line up and field 11

I’m still Undecided between Nights next in a 4-3-3 or Salah in a 4-4-2 (Greenwood) 3rd sub, used my BB this week so don’t need to worry about 15 playing every week

i also Bench boosted this week (19 points)
also looking to put as much money as possible in the 11

Salah is also a doubt for me in week 17 onwards. Villa are organised now as are Leicester and without captaincy i may just roll with the above 11 and no Salah and see if Darwin can cover for 4mil cheaper

            1. Babit1967
              • 9 Years

18 points with Andreas left for BB so can’t complain.

I know what you mean re Nunez & if you’re planning on captaining Haaland most weeks, probably worth saving the Salah money.

Bailey's benching today has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works, especially with Watkins not even available I wonder how reliable he'll be. Think I'll stick with Pereira maybe although MGW's been high on my list

Its Sinisterra's spot he's sharing, and yeah, we don't really know what happens when he's fit. My advice would be to treat Sunmerville as one of your starters on a short-term basis, rather than trying to use him in the Andreas role of 1st sub as he's nowhere near as nailed long-term

      1. Zimo
        • 7 Years

That's the thing - if you want a reliable long-term starter, Andreas is better. Summerville might get some 1s & some 0s among the returns

I agree. Potter could have taken Brighton to top 4. Especially this season when 4 of the traditional big 6 are out of touch: Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Man United.

United are fine imo. Started season poorly but have done well since. Ronaldo will be gone soon. Last week was an anomaly with new manager bounce, Ronaldo starting and lack of Bruno+Varane

Yes, could have been Arsenal, City, Newcastle and Brighton in top 4. With Potter at the wheel, I think Brighton could have done it. We will never know.

Under current circumstances, it looks like Man United and Newcastle will make the top 4.
