Double Gameweek 19 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) gets underway at the Brentford Community Stadium, with Liverpool making the trip to west London.

The hosts claimed a 2-0 win over West Ham United in their final game of 2022, while Jurgen Klopp’s side came from behind to beat Leicester City 2-1 at Anfield.

Kick-off is at 17:30 GMT.

As for the all-important team news, Brentford’s top scorer Ivan Toney misses out, having been stretchered off in Gameweek 18. The forward’s muscle injury is “not significant” according to head coach Thomas Frank, but is enough to keep him out today.

That means Yoane Wissa comes in and partners Bryan Mbeumo up front, while Vitaly Janelt for Josh Dasilva is the only other change.

Liverpool, meanwhile, make three alterations from Gameweek 18, as Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas and Fabinho replace Joel Matip, Andrew Robertson – who was withdrawn on Friday with a dead leg – and Jordan Henderson.

As for new signing Cody Gakpo, he’s not in the matchday squad, with the Dutchman now in line to make his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

GAMEWEEK 19 LINE-UPS

Brentford XI: Raya, Roerslev, Zanka, Pinnock, Mee, Henry, Norgaard, Janelt, Jensen, Mbeumo, Wissa

Subs: Strakosha, Canos, Dasilva, Ghoddos, Lewis-Potter, Damsgaard, Sorensen, Crama, Trevitt

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Fabinho, Elliott, Thiago, Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Darwin

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Keita, Jones, Robertson, Carvalho, Matip, Bajcetic, Phillips

Haaland just about nicks it for captaincy choice in current top ten players. Not many vice captaining either of them though. All or nothing.

I think it's just fair to say that Nunez was unlucky today against (insert team name) and owners should definitely be holding.

I was due a bad gameweek. The only way this will be salvaged is a Mitro blank + yellow tomorrow.

Well, shoot. I thought today's match was the last of GW18. Not the first of GW19. And I had 2 FT ready to go. Now I am left with Andreas on the bench and Darwin instead of Mitro.

Maybe it's a blessing, DGWs usually backfire on me anyway.

Depends on outcome from remaining league games and all cup games over next 2 weeks- we don’t know if Spurs certain to double or if Kane might get yellow. And Spurs as bad, if not worse than Liverpool. If Kane gets double probably worth move otherwise would just keep Darwin. United may have double so Cucu to Shaw or Dalot might be better use of transfer

      1. Atimis
        • 9 Years

Good point, totally forgot about yc. If not Kane, could consider Mitro to Toney for their fixtures. Getting United def or even going back to Martial also sounds good.

I think both sets of games are tough for City. ManUtd will probably still be open but they're much better than they were when they last faced City, and Spurs are always difficult for City. Villa are also always troublesome for City while Arsenal is a huge game and I can see it being tight, especially given City will really need a win there. I'm tempted to hold off until a later double from FA Cup postponements. But it's a risk in case they don't progress or Haaland isn't fit, or it goes into a big DGW thats better suited to FH or BB, etc.

    QUESTION TIME:

If a player is on 4 yellows. But gets two yellows and therefore sent off in the prem game before the following FA cup (ie Saka two yellows v Newcastle). Will they serve both a suspension (red card) in the FA cup & 5 yellow card accumulation & miss the next prem game?

Newc and Utd might double. Apparently even City and Spurs aren't 100% guaranteed, if they are involved in FA Cup replays.

FA Cup replays should have gone away for good. Utterly absurd to still have them given how congested the football calendar is.

Can be a financial lifeline for lower league clubs, though. Big clubs can't (well, shouldn't) really whinge until they stop jetting off for mid-season friendlies

Erm that would change my moves with 2ft’s. Planned on James and Martial to Digne and Toney. Would get Botman instead and possibly Wilson if fit.

Do we have to wait until after the FA cup games to know?

Brighton has a string of lovely fixtures coming up (LIV, lei, BOU, cry, FUL). Which attacker to target?

    A) Trossard
    B) Lallana
    C) Mitoma

I'm going for MacAllister, de Zerbi said he may play in a more forward role if he prefers and he's on pens

He came back earlier than planned (he was given more time off) because he wanted to be available for more games for Brighton in the busy period, supposedly returned to them yesterday or today so might be on the bench tomorrow. I'm hoping he'll get on the pitch and we'll see if he continues in his deeper role or if he gets to play in his Argentina role

Don't know, any more. Probably Ederson. Even then, not many clean sheets.

Might go Cancelo, to cover high ownership. Don't really want to, though

Gutted I did Kane to Mitro instead of Nunez..how bad was he today? Surely this was his last chance Brighton away next game?

He was the main threat, as usual. Scored a goal (offside) and had another fortuitously blocked by Ben Mee

A few classic misses. He did score a decent goal but was offside by the finest of margins

Brighton are poor defensively now but think I'm done waiting now. Problem is Kane is who I wanted to move him to if needed but I'm worried Spurs are in the midst of a Conte implosion, they've been very poor

I think Gapko will take Oxlade's position on the left and Darwin will stay in the middle.

I think Darwin is ok to cover Liverpool attack. Darwin and Salah is to much.

Botman probably has a 6 point ceiling. Wilson is on pens. I’d favour Wilson.

This is true. If he’s not injured he is sick but when fit is always a reliable source of points.

I think, if we know he's fit, I'll go for Wilson. Easy Mitro switch. Then keep until he breaks again.
