        Yep.

I think Kepa/Ward will prove to be a decent combo but given budget isn’t really an issue this season i rue ditching Pope during the break.

Rank these best to worst as fpl assets for next 5 or so gameweeks:
    A) Salah
    B) KDB
    C) Kane
    D) Darwin

B, C, D, A in my opinion. A and D are close calls, but D is slightly ahead due to purchase price.

C: The only consistent premium after Haaland

A: Gakpo is here, so some of the creativity burden should be off his back

B: Great player, looking somewhat off it. This could change with just the Chelsea game. Could be ahead of Salah if you don't think Gakpo + Robbo starting makes much of a difference

D: Nothing will change his accuracy issue any time soon. Might even be rotated when Firmino returns

If you consider Man Utd conceded half their goals (10) in two games (City and Brentford), it does show how solid Ten Hag has made them this season in comparison to last.

Is Dalot Shaw worth considering as United do look better defensively and have double coming up ( would give me Rashford Shaw Dalot)

Maybe, but I prefer the fixture + DGW rotation from this backline:

      Trippier Schar Akanji White Shaw

Dalot over Akanji is the closest there, maybe due to attacking threat

47 with Kane, Haaland, KDB, Walker (if he doesnt play>White subs in with 7 pts) and Andreas to go.

Captained Mitro and went from being ecstatic to despair after the yellow card.
From possible 18 and a game to go to 10...FML, could've made a bigger gap in the ML.

I know its a week for sitting on hands, but Darwin & Mount to Mitro and Kev de Blank for free looks the obvious move so far this week, what with the clock being reset on Mitro's YCs and the likely competition up front at LFC now that Gakpo is on board and Bobby is nearly back (and the fact that Darwin still couldn't hit the arsend of a cow with a banjo if you gave him all week)

    1. FCRS1991

A word on Kane: Spurs haven't looked great for most of the season. Remember the Conte-Tuchel match? That was GW2. Son still has 3 goals, all from one game. Kulu has missed matches due to injury. There's no clear source of creativity

Kane has had 13 goals and 3 assists so far. He's their entire attack, and he's outscoring premiums from better-performing teams

This hasn't changed for a long time now

    1. teknicolourfox

Who's essential at his price point, after Haaland? Who's the more consistent second premium?

        1. banskt
          • 12 Years
          3 years, 3 months ago

At that price point, nobody is essential except Haaland.

I don't need a second premium, I need players who score points. Newcastle defenders, Arsenal and Brighton mids, Rashford, Toney, etc.

          1. Ze_Austin
            • 7 Years
            3 years, 3 months ago

I was comparing him to other premiums. If he's a hard reach and you can't afford a second premium this season, that's fine

But if you can afford a second premium, he's the second-best striker in the game, so he's ahead of everybody bar Haaland for that spot in the team

Toney and Mitro come close, but Toney has that looming ban. So it's likely a 3-5-2 if you're going without Kane, and that's fine... Unless one of your 5 mids is a premium, which is where my point comes in

            1. Ze_Austin
              • 7 Years
              3 years, 3 months ago

Just in case it needs to be said: he also has more points than everybody bar Trippier and Haaland, in a season where Spurs have barely ever looked great. I'm just saying that the situations which led to his points for half a season haven't changed much now. It's just more discussed because more people own him now

The effect of watching an asset more closely

Let's start the new hot topic: Martial replacements

Kane: maybe double gwk20 but v tough opposition with ARS and mci, 13g 3a already and on good form 3g and 1a in last 4 games , scored on his return from WC, so even v this tough opposition I can see him scoring well, let's see how he performs tomorrow, one worry is he is on 4 yc. After gwk20 his fixtures look great to gwk31, only tough fixture MCI gwk22. Great long term pick.

Darwin: Darwin Darwin Darwin, I know how frustrating he has been to own, but his stats and fixtures are very good upto gwk28, next 5 are bha, CHE, wol, EVE, new. He reminds me of Salah when he first came, 9 shots to get a goal, but always in the right place at right time, the goals were bound to start flying in and you know how that story went, he also has two doubles to fit in, good price at 8.9 I feel and at 15% ownership he is a abit of a differential. 5g 3a

Havertz: Chelsea top scorer since Potter arrived , seems nailed on in that Chelsea team , albeit a Chelsea team that looks really poor at the moment, but they have a good chance to start stringing some wins together starting with Fulham, then this is followed by CRY, liv, FUL, whu, SOU in the next 5. 4g 1a

Wilson: Injury prone I know, but if he can keep his fitness, he can be profilic in scoring points, with 6g and 3a in 13 appearances, with a highest score of 19 v Villa at home. Newcastle have great fixtures in the next 6 with FUL, cry, WHU, bou, LIV BHA. Has a double v whu to fit in to.

Nketiah: on good form with 2g in last 3 games, the fixtures are a mixed bag in the next 5 with tot, MUN, eve, BRE, MCI and maybe EVE thrown in for a double somewhere. I see tight games v MUN and MCI, but goals in the rest of the games and Arsenal are flying, only worry is return of Jesus (expected back Feb 04, gwk22, eve)

    Thanks for ready 🙂

      My view:

      1. Kane top option if money is no object, and with how FPL is playing out, it might not be. Clear 2nd best FWD

      2. Nketiah - Potential 6 games in 4GWs for league leaders hard to ignore

      3. Darwin - the xG! I think in 12 months he's one of the stars of the league. Or looking for a transfer to Spain/Italy/elsewhere. There is no middle ground. It's a scary ride but worthwhile IMO

4/5. Wilson/Havertz - not for me. Probably like Mitro, Toney (if not banned) more. Wilson not as talismanic this season IMO.

Will be funny tho if Kane gets a yellow next up and therefore can't play both games in a DGW20

Kane and Darwin are my favourites, I added the other 3 because they have their own merits and potential for purple patches. Most own Mitrovic I think so didn't add him

Toney if fit and not banned? 4 goals in last 3 games, BOU, LEE, SOU in next 3

Wonder if Alvarez gets any starts - the double up with Haaland could be good if he continues his WC form and bearing in mind the Man City mids are underwhelming (Foden benched, KDB expensive)

Toney would of been on the list but we need to see what happens with the law. Alvarez is a great punt for double 20

Decided to still get Martinelli instead of the differential Mitoma. Martinelli's stats against the league's best defence today were phenomenal. I'll admire Mitoma and get him if I need to replace someone

You're contributing to my point here: "Martinelli's stats against the league's best defence today..."

Not worth the risk of going without him. I'll get Mitoma if a spot opens up in my team

Mitoma scored vs THE best defence in the league this weekend.

I see Newcastle as a stronger defence than Arsenal, but that's not an argument worth getting into because it depends on which particular stat you're using, and that's fine

Again, I consider Mitoma a good option. I'm prioritizing Martinelli because of his better stats at the moment, along with the fact that he plays for the league's top team and also poses a rather considerable threat to my rank with upcoming doubles. That could change later, or another spot will open up in my team. Just not worth the OR risk, in this season where one decision can lead to a 15-point swing before the chance to correct it

Who are the five best midfielders that you want in an ideal team for the next five gameweeks? Regardless of price.

I think I would go with Martinelli, Odegaard, Almiron, Rashford and Mitoma.

Agreed. With Andreas to Mart, I'll have that midfield with Salah over Mitoma

I have Haaland - Kane - Salah, so I want to keep the threemium setup for a while and see how it goes

I consider Gakpo a huge positive for Salah's prospects, but maybe that's the Liverpool fan in me hoping that Darwin stops being the focal point soon. Mitoma might outscore Salah, but I'll just watch what happens for now

None of us have the crystal ball. So, who knows who will score more? Good luck with whoever you choose!

What do you think of Gakpo himself as a FPL option?

Exactly. It's more of a risk thing with Mart and Salah. I have to be sure I don't want them before I go for shiny new differentials

Gakpo is a wait-and-see for me, as usual with new guys in FPL. I think (or hope?) he'll be a Bruno Fernandes kind of January signing with immediate impact. Love the lad

Thanks. Gakpo is a great player indeed. I am curious to see how he performs in the new circumstances.

(There are different types of management styles: I don't care about "risks", but I choose players who I think will return more points in the future.)

Just to clarify: if I was *sure* Mitoma would outscore Martinelli or Salah, I'd have chosen him over them. Ownership is just a tiebreaker here, as FPL is a rank-based game

And to clarify myself: we don't have the crystal balls. So, we can never be *sure* who will outscore whom -- its all about what *I think*. Right now, if I think Mitoma will outscore Salah, I will sell Salah to buy Mitoma. I don't care about ownership or price. Next week, I may think something else and will act accordingly. Its all about what *I think*. There's nothing right or wrong in this game.

(Sidenote: I am more conservative with captaincy choice. I wouldn't captain anyone bar Haaland unless absolutely forced.)

And, every manager thinks differently. That's what makes the game so interesting.

Which Brighton attacker to buy before their sea of green fixtures starting from GW20? Looking for ideas and suggestions.

It's not a bad fixture for sure, I just mean the content creators will probably focus on DGW players this week e.g. sHoUlD YoU GeT KaNe oR De bRuYnE?!?! and then BHA's fixture run (which may have a double in or not) will get more attention I imagine. Moving early doesn't seem a bad idea!

Now, I understand. Thanks for explaining.

I already have Kane, Haaland, KdB, Cancelo and also Rashford, Shaw if they double. So, I have the luxury of getting Brighton attackers. Assuming there are no injuries or other unforeseen events before the deadline for GW20.
