Suspensions

In this regular article, we look at the latest Fantasy Premier League (FPL) disciplinary situation.

The initial focus is on who is nearing a ban for yellow card accumulation but we also round up which FPL assets are already suspended ahead of Gameweek 30.

A reminder: punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

The table above is taken from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

We have long since passed the cut-off point for five yellow cards, so now the target to avoid is 10 cautions.

WHEN IS EVERY CLUB’S 32ND FIXTURE?

THE RACE TO (AVOID) 10 BOOKINGS

There are three players at immediate risk of a suspension, the most notable of whom from a Fantasy perspective is Ivan Toney (£7.9m).

He picked up his ninth booking of the season in Brentford’s win over Southampton in Gameweek 27, so is now one caution away from a two-match ban.

But he’s avoided doing so in Double Gameweek 29 and now only has to get through the Bees’ next three games without a yellow card in order to avoid that fate.

Nelson Semedo (£5.0m) and Cheick Doucoure (£5.0m) are also sitting on nine bookings.

James Maddison (£8.3m) and Andreas Pereira (£4.3m) are among the cluster of players on eight cautions, meanwhile.

CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

FPL suspensions: How many matches will Mitrovic miss?

Ruben Neves (£5.3m) became the third Premier League player to reach 10 bookings for the season when being carded on Saturday, meaning that he’ll miss the next two Gameweeks.

The other players red-flagged through suspension are unavailable because of red cards.

Casemiro (£4.9m) and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£4.9m) will be out until Gameweek 31, while Jonny (£4.3m) – like Neves – won’t be back until Gameweek 32.

Red cards for Lucas Moura (£5.8m) and Abdoulaye Doucoure (£5.3m) in Monday’s clash at Goodison Park will see the pair banned until Gameweek 33.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.6m), however, won’t be back until Gameweek 36.

The Serb was sent off for shoving referee Chris Kavanagh in an FA Cup tie against Manchester United before the international break and, after intervention from the Football Association, had his ban increased from three matches to eight (including the one he’s already served).

    My current front 3:

    Kane - Isak - toney

    a) Isak > Haaland
    b) Toney > Haaland
    c) Toney + Isak > Watkins + Haaland (-4)

Same dilema. On Toney. Isak have a double and Toney on 9 yellows and playing Newcastle.

134 points could have been better bench boost if Saka Martinelli Zinchenko hauled but got them for 32

But you could have gotten them into the team in weeks 30-32 with free transfers.

Mates with FH32 left, lets discuss our plan up to 34

Wondering about which pair is better for the next GWs:

    A) KDB Toney

    B) Kane Grealish

GW34 plan is to have this team:

    Steele

    Stones Shaw Estupinan

    Saka Mitoma Rashford -

Haaland Martial/Darwin -

Had a look the other day…it’s looking a bit bleak I’m afraid. Everton revival looking ominous and others that could get dragged in either have decent squads or have stabilised a bit

xxx Points , happy with that. Took a 12 point hit. Players taken out would have got me 10 points, those coming in gave me 22, so paid for themselves.

I'm guessing most people will have had a bit of a similar dud evening tonight -

    6 players

    1,2,2,2,2,10

shaw, trip, botman, raya, toney, Rashford

Thank the lord Rashford scored :Z

Rashford cost me a lot of ranks, as did Brentford's lack of ability to wipe Man U's clean sheet.

Around the top 100k mark Rashford's EO was 143%, so absolute pain if you didn't captain but for those that did he was still helping quite a lot.

I got 21,000 rank boost from him according to LiveFPL

You can berate me for this but I never thought I'd be unhappy with 129 point week but sticking with Badiashile instead of Trippier (10 point swing) and captaining Salah irrationally over Watkins to be "different" (another 10 point swing). Plus blanks from Maddison and Henry. Really could've been a 150 pointer.

Maybe I'm just bitter after being battered 5-1. Why did we even bother scoring? Cost me Burn CS points.

You always want more. You could have played BB a different week though, so maybe be happy you chose this one

      1. Zenith UK
        • 9 Years
        3 years, 8 days ago

This is true, but the plan was always to BB this week. I just got so used to hearing "-8 is never worth it" when really, my "free" transfer was Kilman > Estupian and my -4 was after the Ward news, so just Steele playing 90mins x 2 I'd have broke even.

I should've taken the risk of Badiashile > Trippier but in my head "stop taking -8s, forum says it's bad!" ya know? Could've then swallowed the Salah (c) and Maddison flop. Henry was always tentative, considering I had Mitoma and Rashford whom I wanted to score.

Salah was just a I'm 1.2M OR, I need a huge pull up, and felt that he would score on the counter v City and I thought he'd get a pen vs Chelsea.

Maybe. With doubt over minutes, bringing him in for free might be enough. Depends if Pep gives anything away in the presser, which I doubt he will.

I’m hoping to go Havertz -> Haaland this week if I can / if he’s fit. So I guess if you need the money for that move it’s even harder. You could leave Haaland for one more week maybe given Bayern and groin but not entirely risk free!
