In this regular article, we look at the latest Fantasy Premier League (FPL) disciplinary situation.

The initial focus is on who is nearing a ban for yellow card accumulation but we also round up which FPL assets are already suspended ahead of Gameweek 31.

A reminder: punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

The table above is taken from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

We have long since passed the cut-off point for five yellow cards, so now the target to avoid is 10 cautions.

WHEN IS EVERY CLUB’S 32ND FIXTURE?

THE RACE TO (AVOID) 10 BOOKINGS

There are four players at immediate risk of a suspension – and they still include Ivan Toney (£7.8m)!

He picked up his ninth booking of the season in Brentford’s win over Southampton in Gameweek 27, so is now one caution away from a two-match ban.

But he’s managed to escape a yellow card in his four subsequent appearances and now only has to get through the Bees’ next two games without a caution in order to avoid that fate.

Nelson Semedo (£5.0m) and Cheick Doucoure (£5.0m) remain on nine bookings, while Adam Smith (£4.3m) joined them at the weekend.

James Maddison (£8.3m) and Andreas Pereira (£4.3m) are among the cluster of players on eight cautions, meanwhile.

CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

FPL suspensions: How many matches will Mitrovic miss?

Ruben Neves (£5.2m) is one match through his own two-game ban, having already reached the unwanted 10 yellow card mark.

The other players red-flagged through suspension are unavailable because of red cards.

Jonny (£4.3m) – like Neves – won’t be back until Gameweek 32, while Lucas Moura (£5.8m) and Abdoulaye Doucoure (£5.3m) are out until Gameweek 33.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.6m), however, won’t be available until Gameweek 36.

The Serb was sent off for shoving referee Chris Kavanagh in an FA Cup tie against Manchester United before the international break and, after intervention from the Football Association, had his ban increased from three matches to eight (including the two he’s already served).

Casemiro (£4.9m) and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£4.9m) return from their bans in Gameweek 31, meanwhile.

Hey everyone! Repost from old article

After a bad GW don't even know which transfers to consider. Would appreciate your advice

    Kepa
    Trippier, Schar, Estupinan,
    Bruno, Saka, Mac Alister, Mitoma,
    Haaland, Isak, Watkins

    Raya, Rashford, Chilwell, Shaw,
    1FT, 4.6 ITB

Saka doesn’t seem like the best Arsenal asset at the minute, as my own team confirmed this week! Not having kane has cost as he scores every week but Isak and Watkins both look good. Probably prioritise moving bruno on.

Casemiro and Eriksen likely back this GW, so Bruno hopefully starts playing 10 again. Agree about Saka, could shift to Martinelli, but that seems sideways a bit. Then again Saka didn't deliver as match when Jesus played

Kane vs BOU is a nightmare for non owners, but bar GW31 Isak's fixtures look better

Do you think Chilwell will be benched again? I'd start him over Estupian. I'd also start Raya over Kepa this week? Team looks okay though!

That’s a good team as Chelsea could be rubbish again. I’m weighing up 3 Brighton in too. Looks good for this week. Prob play Chilwell if it looks like he plays and bench Schar

    Initial thoughts?
Just Maddison to Grealish and FH32?

    Raya/Kepa
    Chilwell/Trippier/Shaw/Botman/Estupinan
    Saka/Maddison/Martineli/March/Rashford
    Haaland/Kane/Watkins

Yes. Maddison to Grealish is what I’d do. Only other thing I’m considering that might apply to your team is swapping out Chilwell.

Hypothetically, if you could field an 11 for BGW32 by taking a -4 and thus saving the free hit chip for DGW34, would you?

Obviously very dependent on your individual team but I could personally do this and it’s starting to look a bit more tempting. Using free hit when I could easily have 10 players playing as a minimum is starting to feel like it isn’t the best use of the chip!

Will come down to how you feel about competing against the FH's with Salah/TAA (or you may have Salah in any case) and how much better your GW34 team would be on FH

In same position and will be doing some detailed planning today to make my decision. FH34 seems really tasty but my initial go at forming a FH team for that week showed me that of the teams with good doubles it is mainly their midfielders that I want and obviously can only have 5 so could potentially get the midfield 5 on free transfers and so FH32 could be better.

I suppose if you have so many starters for 32, you're team probably isn't in very good shape for DGW34, so I guess its viable. Only thing is that FH34 team might be better for GW37 and those fixtures in between as well

Currently on this, with the 5 marked * blanking in 32. 2FT:

        Raya / Iverson

        Shaw* / Mee / Botman / Dunk* / Trippier

        Rashford* / Mitoma* / Maddison / Martinelli / Saka

        Kane / Haaland* / Watkins

    A. Maddison/Rashford > Martinelli
    B. Maddison/Rashford > Grealish
    C. Both for -4

Fixtures excluding a FH32 up to GW36 are:

Martinelli: whm, mci, CHE, new, BRI,
Grealish: LEI, ARS, ful, WHM, LEE, eve

Would transfer in Martinelli in any case for GW37+38

    Morning.

    Raya
    Trippier Shaw* Chilwell
    Fernandes Rashford* Mitoma March
    Haaland Kane Watkins
    Kepa // Maddison Estupiñán Schar

Not sure who I'll play in defence. Will leave Shaw in, in case of lucky autosub but any two of Chilwell/Estupiñán/Schar could start.

    A) Rashford > Grealish
    B) Maddison > Grealish
    C) Rashford > Martinelli
    D) Maddison > Martinelli
    E) Rashford/Maddison > Grealish/Martinelli (-4)

If E, I'd have to bench someone. Maybe March.

Obviously tempted by Salah too but not sure I'm going to sell Kane (BOU) for him, when he may well have lost penalties too.

Your squad looks deep enough to carry Rashford if only out short-term or if the news is ambiguous. Close call on who to buy - I'm sure Martinelli will keep firing away, but this weekend was the best matchup for him, and I think I'd lean toward playing the fixtures/doubles with Grealish. So B for me.

Defence looks ok to wing it, similar to my situation. Think I'd have Estupinan 1st sub to fill in for Shaw as I'm more confident in Villa scoring than Chelsea & he has the better attacking upside to offset losing CS. Do you reckon Chilwell is more likely to start BHA, having had his rest this weekend? I'm thinking relative to James in particular since I'll have to start one of them

Thanks for the reply as usual. Appreciate the thoughts on Martinelli/Grealish.

Im on the same page as you RE: Estupiñán 1st on bench. We can't seem to score lol.

I'm not overly sure on Chilwell this weekend, but I hope he plays. When Brighton played us earlier this season I was pitch-side as March rinsed Cucurella over and over. Was probably worse as at the Amex & the Brighton fans were getting in his head... but they'll definitely target him if he starts.

I'm actually not too confident in Man Utd defenders besides Shaw. CS will hard to come by in 34. So probably B, although personally I'm looking to triple on City attack (Haaland, Grealish, KDB) as the defenders are mostly 6pt merchants

This has been the most difficult FPL season ever. Just trying to maintain rank requires serious effort. I’m definitely suffering from fantasy fatigue. Last week I forgot to save my BB, which basically cost me my season, and this week I forgot to move March of my bench for Andreas.

Been a while like this, as I could remember, since the elevated number of players in the game.

I missed deadline BGW28 due to travelling, it was Friday evening. Burned FT in the process and it's tough to get back unless your 50/50 decisions consistently did go your way.

Long story short, getting annoyed with Ben Chilwell. Below is current set up with 0.5itb and free hitting in GW32 Thoughts on options below

    Thinking of
    A) Chilwell to Ake
    B) Chilwell to Mings, Macallister to Grealish -4
    C) Leave Chilwell and play him or bench him.

    GW31 3-4-3 -
    Raya (A v Wol)
    Chilwell (H v Bha),
    Martinez (A v Nfo)
    Gabriel (A v Whu) or Trippier (A v Avl)
    Saka (A v Whu)
    Mitoma (A v Che)
    Rashford (A v Nfo)
    Fernandes (A v Nfo)
    Haaland (C) (H v Lei)
    Kane (H v Bou)
    Toney (A v Wol)

    Subs
    Iversen (A v Mci), Macallister (A v Che), Estupinian (A v Che) Trippier (A v Avl) or Gabriel (A v Whu)

Would advise you don't list your team in a list like that - it's long to read & done with the formation in-line is much more descriptive/easy to ingest.

Don't think selling Chilwell is a terrible move, but risky with MCI UCL pair of matches here. Slightly trickier defensive fixtures for Villa now.

Assuming Rashford and Ward out for a few weeks, could be tempting to get in a couple of BGW32 players and keep FH.

My plan. Does it seem viable?
    30: Rashford to Martinelli
    31: Chilwell to White
32: Navas to Iversen and Saka to Salah -4

    9 GW32 players.

Other option is to not take a hit in 32 but risk no Salah, and instead transfer out Shaw and play 10.

the last month or so has to be a real eye opener for the premier league and the FA. its out of hand now. managers losing control and players trying to cheat (kane against everton and martinelli yesterday two notable examples but see also gakpo against city) at the end of the day that was that linesmans place of work, just as it is with all officials, and its clear he didnt feel safe. they need to crack down on all of this. punish these players retrospectively for cheating or exagerating injurys to try and get players sent off. red cards for nay player who grabs or touches a ref intentionally. it would put a stop to all this pretty quickly. but these organisations are spineless. I remember their attempt to stop diving in the box. it lasted about a few weeks with some examples made then totally fell away.

The fixtures for a FH team in GW32 look rubbish.

I could probably get 9 definite starters without playing it.

Not sure when else to play it though as I'll be playing my WC in GW34 so will have all the DGW players anyway.

ARS (SOU) & LIV (NFO) hardly rubbish, plus a few other decent fixtures to get 5 more players

Agree. Having built my FTs around DGW34 and FH32, I think 32 looks quite attractive for a few one week punts. Each to their own but FH32 is nailed on for me

      Yes and No.

Three each of Arsenal. Liverpool, Newcastle and Palace is a decent 12.

    Morning

What do you reckon on Maddison / Chilwell to TAA / Grealish (-4) ?

    (FHing in 32)

I like it. Trent is as much a differential as he’s been, has nice fixtures

No issues with Maddison - Grealish, but not sure about Trent. Could be worth a punt as an attacker, but Klopp trying to go all Pep with Trent inverting / DM would worry me. A back 3 of Konate, VVD and Robbo looks really problematic with Robbo still trying to make runs into the box, VVD looking in dreadful form, and Konate now being asked to cover Trent's space all by himself. I can see games like Leeds (A) becoming quite entertaining goalfests if Klopp continues with this, but I think you can wave goodbye to any CS

Yeah, agree he's not a good pick as far as CS pts are concerned, but I feel his upcoming fixtures have good potential for attacking returns at least.

By doing Rashford+Maddison to Salah+Andreas (2FT’s), I could field this in GW32 & save the FH for a DGW:

    Alisson
    Gabriel Trippier Botman Henry Zouma
    Salah Saka Andreas
    Kane Watkins

    (Kepa, Mitoma, March, Haaland)

In all honesty, I think you'd do fine with that team.

I guess the question is... How different would your FH team in 34 look compared with non-FH teams?

e.g. with one hit, I can get the below team with 9 DGW players. I'm not sure how much I could improve this if I saved my FH for 34?

      Pope
      Trent - Trippier - Shaw/Dunk
      Salah - March - Mitoma - Grealish - Rashford
      Haaland - Darwin

I don't usually FH in shorter weeks, always a DGW.

But of the two choices it is the opposite this time. My FH team would be near enough what I have.

Would you not want to take advantage of good looking home games for Arsenal, Liverpool, Palace and Newcastle?

That would only be two attackers of five from those four.

I do see that, I would also have a FT going into GW32 for an upgrade somewhere. I would however likely roll it to get a DGWer in for GW34. Looking at FH37, capitalise on differentials late in the season.

Fair enough. But a goal for each of your strikers would cost you 3 CS.

That's my thought with my team too.

He would be a decent signing for that game and then 32-33 but a lot of money. No other Liverpool midfielder or defender offers any certain points. But I can't get to him from Rashford even with 2.6.

May go for a Palace midfielder.

I can afford Rashford to him for free but fully depends on how long Rashford is out for. I don't need to make the move now so if Rashford looks like he'll be back by DGW34 then I might just stick

You not have a free hit?

      GW 31 team is fine.

32 is banking a lot on Brentford and Newcastle clean sheets with two of each, when you also have the strikers of their two opponents.

Would you want Kane and Watkins to score or not?

Looks good, just a couple of fixtures where I'd rather take the opposite side to you - prefer Neto & maybe Billing over Hammers, and Wilson/Isak to Kane. I'm kind of tempted to take a little punt on Joelinton too actually. I probably won't get Toney either

I had it panned to FH in 32 but is it worth saving FH for the double?

Before making any transfers I have 3 blank starters (the bench all blank players)

So using my FT's and taking a hit I could field 10 or 11 starters.

    What do you think?

    Thanks

Unusually, the shorter week is much better than the DGW.

Some good fixtures for Palace and Liverpool.

Most teams have Kane and Watkins plus 1-2 defenders from Newcastle and Brentford, so would you want them to score?

Look at a FH34 team - I suspect you're pretty close to it without actually looking at your team so question is why not FH32 and work transfers for 34?
