One of nerdy FPL habits is watching Championship promotion winners / contenders and wondering how they’ll be priced next season.

For those who haven’t seen, Burnley will be very different to the team which got relegated. Attractive style of play and their attacking full-backs could be gold at around the 5.0 mark I’d guess. Anything less and I’d jump on Maatsen / Roberts.

Sheff Utd more steady than spectacular but N’Diaye looks like he’ll come up as a 6.0/6.5 mid who will be popular in summer drafts if they do go up and get decent fixtures.

True, I'm just always wary of promoted sides nowadays, especially after covid a lot of Championship sides are struggling to get in players permanently, and inevitably any that get promoted have at least a few loanees they depend on which means they either have to spend a decent bit of the promotion money on keeping them (thus having less room to improve elsewhere) or can't keep them and have to replace a key component of their winning side. Burnley to be fair don't look anywhere near as bad as say Forest for this, but I'll just keep an eye on it before thinking of going there

Fair enough. I think I just tie it all up with new season excitement, whether or not I actually get them. Good to be wary.

What was i thinking going this long without Watkins!? Blokes blanked once in his last 12 games, yet i've continued to believe it'd never last. What a terrible miscalculation that was.. Just watched the MOTD highlights & he looked unplayable against Newcastle, whilst also bagging his highest points haul of the season. Need to start taking Villa seriously!

Don't think anyone expected this from him but getting on him and Mings on my WC a while back has worked a treat.

A handy tool I’ve always used is to just keep an eye on the form table last 6/10 games. Sounds obvious but can easily get overlooked and an idea of a team’s ability can stick in your head when in reality it’s become outdated.

    How's she looking?

    Johnstone
    TAA, Robertson, Trippier
    Salah, Saka, Martinelli, Eze
    Kane, Jesus, Watkins

    (Iversen, Andreas, Moreno, Toti)

    Cheers!

I'm not sold on either to be honest. Expecting open game and considering ownership. May opt for Solanke yet.
I've had both for the whole season so keeping them in while I decide.

It's the risk that they both do return and it hurts rank as so many other teams own them. Then your FH has effectively been wasted. I'm going to stick with at least one of them for that reason but might risk taking out the other - probably Trippier. Kane is still constantly scoring most weeks (this one being more of an exception than a rule)

Kane has a good record in recent times against Newcastle and he is in good form so I think a haul is very possible

always possible with Kane but as good a week as ever to go for a differential with a much better fixture

Newcastle don't tend to concede too many do they? Imagine they are slightly better defensively at home too. Ownership is exactly why I wouldn't want them on a FH!

In general they've been quite tight although they could be hurt by yesterday's game! Spurs and Kane in particular have a habit of getting returns in difficult games. I think I'd be more likely to lose Trippier to be honest.

Why would you not consider ownership? I'm around 60k so trying to play safe and steady

              • 9 Years

Sorry I mean I would lean against highly owned players on my FH as I see it as a chance to make ground not hold it.

Kane is great and so consistent but away at Newcastle his ceiling appears quite low so the risk in my eyes of going say Solanke is good.

Fabinho has a pretty superb record with them though so it's not like they don't have other takers there. The last two that he's missed have been significant, could be 4pts better off if he's scored them and it's not like his recent misses have even been attempts on target that were saved

Wildcarding next week. Need to decide if it's worth losing 0.4 in Haaland to free up funds for "better players" this week. Probably taking a -8.

    Sell Haaland and go template:
    Watkins, Saka, Trent/Robbo, Iversen/Johnstone in

Don't sell Haaland and get burned by template:
    Eze, Billing, White, Allison

Half tempted by the bottom lot tbf, in for a penny... Watkins can't score every game, right?

Watkins likes an away goal and Brentford have crap defence = it's not a good week bet against him

Hasn't been a good year to bet against him

Why sell players that have a game in 32 when you can only get 9 out ?

    Hello All

    I have a Question

If i make X amount of transfers right now, activate my free hit then press confirm, will I still be able to make unlimited transfers after at no cost ?

Also is it best to activate FH now to catch price rises within this week ?(I know if goes back to normal next week)

    Any help much appreciated thanks

At the moment sticking with Trippier and Kane in my FH32 team. Both are class players and can haul in any game.
