The next match of Gameweek 31 takes place at the Etihad Stadium, where Manchester City host Leicester City in the 17:30 GMT kick-off.

It’s a clash of contrasting fortunes, as Pep Guardiola’s champions are on five successive victories in their quest to chase down Arsenal but the freefalling Foxes are winless in eight and deep in relegation trouble.

This sits in-between both Champions League quarter-finals with Bayern Munich, so Guardiola has made three changes to the line-up from last Saturday’s 4-1 win at Southampton.

There are starts for Erling Haaland (£12.2m), Jack Grealish (£7.2m), Kevin De Bruyne (£12.1m) and former Leicester wizard Riyad Mahrez (£7.3m), with places on the bench for Nathan Ake (£5.1m) and Manuel Akanji (£5.0m).

Furthermore, midfielder Bernardo Silva (£6.7m) comes in for Ilkay Gundogan (£7.3m). An appendix injury keeps Phil Foden (£8.0m) away from proceedings.

For his first match in charge, Dean Smith has made four changes to the Leicester line-up. Youri Tielemans (£6.1m) is back from an ankle problem and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£4.9m) returns from suspension, as Caglar Soyuncu (£4.2m) and Harry Souttar (£4.5m) are given the nod.

Without a clean sheet since Gameweek 16, it looks like the Foxes have used Harvey Barnes‘ (£6.7m) injury to revert to a back five.

James Maddison (£8.1m) starts, with Daniel Iversen (£3.8m) still preferred in goal.

GAMEWEEK 31 LINE-UPS

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Laporte; Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernardo; Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish

Subs: Ortega, Ake, Akanji, Gomez, Lewis, Phillips, Gundogan, Palmer, Alvarez

Leicester City XI: Iversen; Castagne, Soyuncu, Souttar, Faes, Kristiansen; Tielemans, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndidi, Maddison; Vardy

Subs: Ward, Amartey, Thomas, Mendy, Praet, Marcal-Madivadua, Tete, Iheanacho, Daka

He needs to be £15m at minimum next season!

Salah next most expensive at £12m.

Agreed. Just give people a 14 man squad with Haaland a permanent 15th player. The only thing you can do with him is move the armband on and off. €85m squad money and sorted lol

Don't think they'll do it. They have more players than ever this year and more engagement because players can fit in basically everyone they want easily with lower prices. Haaland will inevitably be the highest priced player but I don't think we'll see pricing that will force people to decide between lots of big players again

I'd love to see it, I really miss having to scour teams from the lower end of the table for budget differentials. Hopefully they'll at least fix that issue as having Arsenal, ManUtd or Newcastle defenders at the same price as Bournemouth or Forest defenders is a joke. But overall I think we'll continue to have this structure

Also highly considered a Kane/Maddison/Rashford > Solanke/Grealish/Salah (-8) which would have paid off!... Although leaned towards Isak over Solanke initially so perhaps not.

Todd Boehly needs to settle down - too many players/no striker or identity - last season two pens away from a triple.
However - Chelsea need to play like they did against borussia dortmund at the bridge/most teams would be happy with a Champions League Quarter Final

Don't think Cole missed any matches that season. He had a fall out with Keegan and missed at least one game, but I think that was the season after. I don't remember Cole scoring any penalties as I think Beardsley took penalties back then, not that they were very frequent.

Is Robbo even fit after that nasty elbow from the linesman?

Top 100? Your linked team here isn't Top 100 in any sense.

Don't have the context but seen you post about this twice now.

Top 100 any blah blah is the name of the mini league whose codes are publicly available yet I got kicked out simply for opening up a lead. It hurts.

Are you ranked Top 100 any season? You didn't answer that question...

Those people thrive on you selling it

Move on and never go back to that league again. Usually they have multiple teams themselves and are entering their highest scoring team towards the end

Will be thought to pick three from Isak, Jesus, Watkins and Solanke, for next week. Thoughts?

Callum Wilson probably settles that debate for me.

Too much rotation risk for New?

It's just a constant headache with Isak, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Wilson start or Isak then come on and score but just the type of manager I am, I wouldn't risk that.

City are winning it this season aren't they? As boring as it is... as a neutral I'd like to see Arsenal win it.

What the hell do I do to that defence? No free hit. But I do have bench boost…

I reckon I'll just play this weird starting 11 for GW32 and plan to attack GW34 with my FH - does this look OK-ish?

    Pickford
    Trippier Zinchenko Tarkowski Coufal Toti
    Salah(c) Maddison Martinelli
    Kane Toney
