Many Free Hit chips are active in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this week, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion all blanking in Gameweek 32.

For Free Hitters, two very exciting fixtures immediately stand out – Arsenal v Southampton and Liverpool v Nottingham Forest.

The 6-1 thrashing of Leeds United on Monday night boosted demand in Jurgen Klopp’s squad, while even those managers not on a Free Hit in Gameweek 32 will be considering Liverpool players for a favourable medium-term run of fixtures and a ‘double’ in Gameweek 34.

Looking at the on-site comments, some Pro Pundit opinion and Members Area data, let’s delve deeper into the debate of which three Reds assets are best for Blank Gameweek 32 and beyond.

Gakpo vs Jota feels like a tough call. Gakpo probably better for minutes but Jota more explosive?

Why do you thik Gakpo is better for minutes? Firmino and Darwin play in his position. For Jota, Diaz and Darwin either. AS it stands, the risks are the same.

Jota. Proven long term. His data would often compete with Salah's. 4 starts in the last 4, Klopp clearly trusts him.

Gakpo is still settling in. 3 starts in the past 4.

      Ive been going both.
Eze seems to be more scoring but Olise hit woodwork last game.
At their prices either has great value.

So I don't have FH and only have 9 playing atm. 1FT and 0.5 ITB

    Raya

    Trippier TAA Botman Henry

    Saka Martinelli

    Watkins Kane

With Haaland, Mitoma, Mac alister, Rashford, Kepa, Estupinan out.

What would you do with this lot? 2k OR so not chasing, but would like to field 11 even if that means taking a hit.

What do you think of Haaland > Jota?

I plan to WC in GW34 and may (or may not) get Haaland back again next GW (for Toney).

    Ward (Iversen)
    Robertson Trippier Botman Gabriel Henry
    Salah Saka Odegaard (Mitoma March)
    Toney Watkins (Haaland)

I'm thinking the same Haaland to Jota (and also will bring in Martinelli) in 32, then W/c-ing in 33 for BB in 34

becoming more apparent that a FH this week for me should be saved for DGW34

    1. Conners
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 10 months ago

      I'm not so sure.

Some of the key players as far as the DGW is concerned

      Haaland, Grealish
      Salah, Trent, Jota
      Rashford, Shaw
March, Mac, Mitoma, Estup / Dunk

With 2 FT's and a hit, I'll have 9 of these plus Martinelli and Trippier.

I doubt a FH team could improve much on that?

  11. Dion D's Solo Shower

Is it wild to consider removing Kane from this team?
    Saving FH for GW34.

    Raya
    Trippier - Mings - Gabriel - Mitchell
    Salah - Saka - Odegaard
    Watkins - Toney - Kane

Would be for either Isak, who has a double coming up i GW36 or Solanke, who's posting great numbers and playing for a team in form.
Or just keep Kane and save the FT?

    1. Invincibles

I did to Jesus to fund Salah move (keeping Haaland).

Cannot justify getting the extra pool attacker as much as I’d like to, there’s an abundance of mid/attack options this week to choose from but so few defenders.
The minutes risk of a pool attacker and the knock on weakening of the defence has me far more inclined to go Robbo and any of Eze/Bowen/Maddison/Toney as the 7 attacker

    1. Conners
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 10 months ago

I've come round to the same conclusion.

Jota is very tempting, but I really don't want to lose any of Kane, Watkins or Jesus.

      1. Ask Yourself
        • 9 Years

Still can’t decide between Kane or trippier this week. Can’t have them playing each other on FH or it feels a waste in my silly mind

    2. Ask Yourself
      • 9 Years

Also fancy Robbo to have much more freedom to get forward Vs forest than he did against Leeds

      1. The Mentaculus
        • 4 Years
        2 years, 10 months ago

He really "shouldn't" have that much attacking freedom given Trent's new role, but I suppose the Klopp version of this tactic may well just ignore the more defensive Ake role

        1. Ask Yourself
          • 9 Years

Thinking of a little different FH

    Johnstone
    TAA - White - Trippier
    Son - Salah - Gakpo - Saka
    Watkins - Isak - Jesus

    (Iversen - Andreas - Moreno - Toti)

Or should i just stick with Kane, Martinelli, Eze and Robbo ?

    Would come down to

    A) White, Gakpo, Son and Isak
    B) Robbo, Eze, Martinelli and Kane

    1. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

It's something I'd been meaning to do more of when I took over from David a year or two ago but hadn't done nearly enough of. I've been trying to focus more on the criminally neglected community side recently (these types of articles, making sure FFS users get the presser times before the Twitterati, being more responsive in the comments section, creating more Hot Topics etc) but I hope we can do more for 2023/24. I smell a post-season survey!

Alright trying something a bit different and managed to find some defenders that aren’t awful to look at that don’t play for liverpool or newcastle. I fancy Castagne in a wing back role Vs wolves left side

    Johnstone
    Castagne White TAA
    Salah Gakpo Martinelli Bowen
    Jesus Kane Watkins

    Iversen Eze Moreno Mings

Dont think that Castagne move pays off short or longer term. Prefer the more obvious picks. Everyone expects Villa to concede againts Brentford. Im not so sure. They've been doing OK (by that I mean excellent) upto now. Id play Moreno personally.

If you're going to take a hit, I think I would only do it for Salah. Trent & Jota could outscore Salah & Solanke this week only but I'm not sure I'd actually want to buy Jota since rotation will likely kick in by next GW (if not this one!)

Very good point thanks. I dont think Jota is a good long term buy so that makes him a bad short term buy also. I probably have to get someone either Trent or Salah though as Im fairly sure Liverpool put up a number against Forest.

    Current draft
    Johnstone Iversen

    Salah Saka Martinelli Eze Andreas
    Kane Jesus Watkins

would u guys do this? on basis of Newcastle is good defensively at home.

FT to field 10, or -4 to field a ‘stronger’ 10. It means removing Kane
    FH in 34

    Raya
    Trip pinnock white (chilly)

Saka has been very tired looking lately. So some element of risk on that selection I feel. He plays - no doubt - but will he back to his old self. Think id select Eze ahead of him. Or Jesus (for Isak) and replace Saka with someone else (for triple arsenal).

There's a school of thought that New v Tot goes either way (and no one confidently knows which way) so you could avoid that game altogether. Maddison and Lei have been hopeless but signs in that 2nd half that there is a pulse and Smith/JT/Shakespeare are all good motivators so surely they see this as the game when the fightback starts.

Its decent to be fair. Id like if Saka was firing on all cylinders but i can see the logic of picking him still.

White expected to start vs Sou or is there any looming threat? Tomiyasu etc.
Plan to bring him and hes more exciting for attacking points than Gabriel

Tomiyasu and Saliba are injured, White will play 100%

I'd say very, very little (to no) threat, barring an injury. Tomiyasu out for the season, White in good form, no Europe/cup distractions. Even the turnaround times from GW32-35 are very generous.

    Gakpo or Robertson?

    Eze or Kane

Who would you choose for your final 11?
