    A) TAA + Enciso + 0.5m
    B) Stones* + B. Fernandes

Stones could be any other 5.5m defender if you don't like him. Gabriel and Estupinan are the other defenders.

Looking at his history, I'd say he probably isn't the best fantasy pick, but is likely to make the villa defense better. I presume he'll be a first choice centre back. He did score 5 goals in the season before last, but only got one last season so probably not the most attacking.

I don't love it yet, but its the one I've liked most so far.... 1M in the bank to move on any issues straight away.
I know DCL is a big risk, but i do fancy him to find some form this year so thought i'd give him a few weeks.

    Thoughts are appreciated 🙂

    Pickford
    Gabriel / Botman / Estupinan
    Rashford / Salah / Mitoma / Saka
    Wissa / Haaland / DCL

    Areola / Bailey / Beryer / Bell

Two 6 mil forwards could backfire structure wise and Bailey as a benchwarmer seems a bit unecesssary

Play your cards wisely and you might be able to upgrade a 6 mil forward to Watkins/Jesus

Thanks. I did have that earlier actually, i had enciso instead of mitoma which meant I had 2 mil (have 1M ITB), DCL was then jesus. Just felt saka and jesus was not needed.
I might do it another way though, downgrade Bailey to a 4.5 and then DCL/Wissa > 8Mil. Or even Bailey to a 5M and DCL/Wissa > Isak.
Not sure, just a feeling about DCL this year. Probably way off the mark.
Is there such a thing as a playing mid at 4.5? I like bench players to be playing just in case.

Like it tbh, i have Wissa and DCL could work if he stays fit (big if though)
But Bailey at 5.5 on bench i dont like - sure i heard hes up for sale too. 5m mid on bench should be the way to go as not really any 4.5s and pump the extra in somewhere

Yeah i might end up doing that like. Just i do like Bailey, hadn't realised he was on the move, but looking at rest of team i'm not sure who i would ever drop for him so maybe you're right. Might do Bailey > a 5M as you say, then will have 1.5 (have 1M ITB) to either strengthen elsewhere (DCL>Isak maybe) or just keep ITB for 1st lot of transfers after first matches.
        Thank you 🙂

1.5m in bank is very handy haha - seriously good options up front for 7.5 btw
I have Halland Wissa and Nkunku at 7.5 - Isak a good shout except opening fixtures

I have thought about that, it's still undecided really, I just like to have a playing 1st sub and I don't like any of the 4.5 or 5M mids :-/ It does seem a waste on the bench like.
If i do Bailey > 4.5 I could do DCL > Jesus, but not sure if Saka and Jesus needed
If I do bailey to a playing 5M, I could do DCL > Isak/Watkins, but tbh, not sure i fancy them much more than DCL.
        Decisions decisions.

Bet365 are running a free game this season (fanteam rules and pricing - which are miles better than FPL with the new changes).

Guaranteed prize pot of 500k. Also running some paid games as well.

It's where the money's at people.... RIP FPL.

FT/365 are better alternatives to Sky imo, as the core rules align closer to FPL so a shallower learning curve.

I still think everyone is missing a trick with Trippier. His attacking potential is worth the extra 2.0 over Botman.

Personally I'm going with: TAA Trippier Gabriel 4.0 4.0 - set and forget for the season.

    1. I Member

Think it's more to do with their fixtures than his price. When they turn in GW5 I expect Trippier to be an attractive option. Not convinced he's worth 2m more than Botman and 1.5m more than Schar though.

        He's pretty fixtureproof though.

        First five games:
        AVL
        mci
        LIV
        bha
        BRE

In games against those 5 opponents last season he got a goal, three assists and two clean sheets.

I'll almost certainly bring him in on WC6/7. Also a bit surprised he's gone so unmentioned. Understandable on fixtures but maybe Newcastle's lack of CS in the latter stages is obscuring the memory of what an insane bonus magnet he is..?

Trippier is a "wait and see" for me. I think the price is slightly putting me off.

Will be interesting to see if Tonali impacts the amount of free kicks Trippier takes. Also if Targett gets a run at left back, he'll share corners. Newcastle were linked with KWP and Livramento, and if either of them was bought then perhaps Trippier could rested for the odd game.

Agree with this. Second half of season his impact seemed much reduced (from an FPL perspective)

Was frustrating as a Newcastle fan that we didn't get more goals from corners, given the amount we won and the quality of Trippier's delivery.

I would consider starting him if rotating him out for his poor GW2 & 3, e.g. with Brighton or Brentford attacker, but would need to be part of a 3-way rotation (at least) with a cheaper player so both of the more expensive players could be in the XI together more often than not, and it's not that easy to find on that looks like it will to better than an alternative without Trippier. Although I did try this with Trippier in my first draft:

      Fabianksi (Areola)
      (Trippier James Chilwell Porro Moreno)
      Saka Odegaard Martinelli Mbeumo Gross
      Haaland (Wissa Ferguson)

Could see a rise in stock for Tierney (if he stays) and Kiwior, and the fall of Zinchenko's, with Timber an option to invert from the right to mirror last season's patterns of play. That also might see Odegaard playing a little deeper, on average, in Xhaka's role, but on the right side, unless he switches side.

All hypothetical though. Timber and Zinc could also play in the same team. But rotation threat looms. It looooms.

Any chance of Kiwior taking mins off Gabriel, do you think? Or more the LBs?

There's a chance. Kiwior looks good so far, but I also think Gabriel is underrated and much more important than he's given credit for around here (and probably by Arsenal fans in general.

I think Gab and Saliba will be first choice, but Arteta might be more willing to rest one of them in the PL every now and then, as he used Europa and cup matches to do that last season (but couldn't do it easily for Gabriel without a backup). Still, first choice should be enough for FPL purposes and to start the season

I'm not 100 sold on Zinch, he shouldn't play tough away games as he can't defend too great.

Would prefer we adopt the City approach of playing 4 CB across the back 4. Looks like Kiwior can play LB 🙂

Hows this Salah + Halland draft looking? Botman and Henry to rotate

    Pickford
    Gabriel Estupinan Botman
    Salah Saka Rashford Maddison Mitoma
    Haaland Wissa

    Areola Henry Beyer Archer

Yep, fine. If you change Gabriel to a 4.5 Chelsea defender, all 5 defender rotate okay and you have 0.5 to get Martinelli if you're interested.

      GW1: Estupinan Botman Henry
      GW2: Estupinan Chelsea Henry
      GW3: Estupinan Chelsea Henry
      GW4: Chelsea Botman Henry
      GW5: Chelsea Botman Beyer
      GW6: Estupinan Botman Henry
      GW7: Estupinan Botman Henry

Hi Stimps - really like this team. I was on an identical one until earlier in the week. I've now changed to a 3-4-3 to get Jesus in. Not seen many in this formation, but I'm actually happier with it for the time being:

      Pickford
      Gabriel Estupinan Henry / Botman
      Salah, Bruno, Saka, Mitoma
      Haaland, Wissa Jesus

What are your thoughts as we seem to have similar thoughts?

Interesting.... one of the potential issues with my 352 with Haaland/Wissa is that it'd be quite difficult to get Nkunku GW3 if he's firing (can't really sell Wissa with 2 nice home fixtures in 3 & 4). Haven't really tinkered with 343s yet though & I do prefer Martinelli to Jesus I think

In putting this draft together I was thinking about 2 main things - possible price points for the future and which 2 Arsenal forwards are likely to get the most points.
I'm still worried about Martinelli due to Trossard, but equally the same could be said about Jesus!! I came down on Jesus solely due to his good start last season - very illogical reason I know.
I also put a 3-5-2 together with Havertz (which I really like) but I need to see where he's more likely to play

For the most part, I was thinking that the early WC plan spares me from having to think about price points. But given Chelsea's GW 3-5 fixtures and Nkunku's potential, he's the only one that really bugs me if he's inaccessible.

I think Enciso and Ferguson both might be a bit too much. You cold downgrade Ramsdale and Shaw (to Gabriel or Saliba), that would give you Arsenal defence, and then upgrade Enciso to Mbeumo. Or downgrade Saka to Marti too and have another 7.5 forward instead of Ferguson if you fancy.

Not fully. In the first scenario, you have two circadian rhythms that counter each other, so bedtime feels like another morning. In the second, yuo have been asleep for 6 days, so you have enough energy to make it through the 24 hours with minimal stimulants - you choose to stay awake the whole time.
