We can agree on that but not sure Arteta thinks the same. If he starts CS instead of Nketiah then I would consider him.

He’s publicly stated he’ll never play for Fulham again because they refused a couple of offers that would have seen him go to Saudi Arabia.

Cash put in a decent cross that no one was there for, I haven't even noticed Diaby at all. Bailey is getting most of the balls and being wasteful.

It's been a boring 20m. Slow Villa possession, lots of tactical fall overs. Lots of passing between defenders.

Watkins off on 75, tactical substitution - seemingly not related to his ankle injury earlier with Archer on, Cash exchanged for Chambers..

Thinking the attacking defensive trio cover for no Trent

      1. Sure You Did
        • 2 Years

They will probably get more points than Trent so nothing to cover.

        1. Barphilona
          • 10 Years
          2 years, 6 months ago

Absolutely no chance any of them other than maybe Chilwell get anywhere near Trent this season. But a combo of Ramsdale/Shaw/Bruno should outscore a 4.5 keeper/Trent/Bowen for example.

          1. Sure You Did
            • 2 Years

Ok, agree to disagree. Pool will not keep many CS and Trents attacking threat is exaggerated by some, based on friendlies and set up I have seen so far.

              • 10 Years

Agree that his pre season hasn’t exactly been anything to write home about. But a goal, 7 assists, and 60pts in his final 10 last season is hard to ignore. That’s why I’m finding it hard to leave him out, and trying to cover those attacking stats elsewhere. Just wasn’t sure on people’s thoughts on the overall team. What’s your draft just out of curiosity?

End of last season he moved into midfield and progressed forward...but after macalister and szobozlai signing, he is playing more of a proper cdm...so the attacking potential is lesser than even when he was at Right back...that combined with Liverpool leaky defense, and he is a no go for me, at least for the time being

              • 6 Years

Taking pre season as gospel is daft. Salah ain’t tracking 100% ; midfield is trying things out.

Can someone please explain to me how on earth there are content creators and on general actually looking at AI bu******t to determine points? You can imput anything you want to a PC to get a result. What I’m interested to know is has anyone ever measured these RTM teams and projected points over 6 weeks and compared it to the actual points. I bet there’s a huge divide. Yet people are actually believing this stupidity. Be interested to know peoples thoughts on how on earth people are buying in to this craziness

He’s not a very exciting pick for some reason but he was 4th highest scorer last year, which would be 2nd without Kane or Toney to choose from.

Seems to be a lot of Haaland Wissa top front combos at the moment but suspect Watkins will be finding his way back into a lot of teams later

Henderson and Turner would be reasonable on a wildcard possibly when the fixtures ease off.

i would doubt Turner would leave being n2 at Arsenal to be n2 at forest. I would assume there were some assurances, but who knows

    1. Onana (£5.0), Stones (£5.5), Zinchenko (£5.0) (£1.0 ITB)
    2. Ramsdale (£5.0), Stones (£5.5), Shaw (£5.5) (£0.5 ITB)
    3. Ederson (£5.5), Shaw (£5.5), Zinchenko (£5.0) (£0.0 ITB)

I am currently picking number 1 but i would love to get Shaw involved for the easy man utd start to the season. On the other hand, Rashford, Bruno and Hojlund all seem viable options and i wanna have maybe two of them..

    thoughts?

1 seems obvious choice but would get someone else over Zinc. Arsenal defence doesn't really excite me but would go with Timber, which comes with risks. Or boring Gab.

That's why i think Ramsdale might be good value or at least the best in the arsenal defence? Idk, cos i feel like we could see a zinchenko haul if he plays that inversed full back position

I personally wouldn't go down the Burnley route (e.g. Beyer @ 4.0m) becuase the first 12 GWs have such difficult fixtures.

      MCI > [BGW] > AVL > TOT > NFO > MUN > NEW > CHE > BRE > BOU > CRY > ARS

Sure you won't play them, but not many CSs.

Baldock has a mixed bag but at least looks first choice.

Currently have Kabore (RWB @ Luton). Luton at least have 'easier' fixtures in the first stretch.

Hopefully it won't matter too much.

      I’m going Baldock.

Beyer worries me that he’ll drop quickly after blank GW2, especially as he’ll potentially be on zero or minus points by then.

      Same with Luton defenders too.

Starting off with a defender going down to £3.9 is not a good thing.

      Very strong team. Nice job!

Doubling up on arsenal offensive players may be a slight punt after the Jesus injury news? If they don't make returns straight away, they may struggle in the United, Everton (a), and Spurs fixtures to get off the mark

I feel like Martinelli may be the first choice up front until Jesus comes back, but with him priced at 8, very easy to swap him out to whichever of the 6.5s(Mitoma, Diaby, etc) gets off to a fast start

i thought that Havertz or Nketiah (or even Balogun) may share the minutes at no.9 position?

I think Havertz is going to be playing farther back next to Rice and my guess is Arteta would rather have Martinelli up front than Nketiah. Guess we'll get a look at what he does tomorrow

Another goal for Watkins, he’s been on fire, players like him are really ramming home the need not to have more than one premium if Haaland is costing 14m, whatever way you work around it, you’re weakening an area or two to accomdate someone you won’t Captain.

I guess that’s what the first wildcard is going to be for, if it goes spectacularly wrong.

If Foden bangs tomorrow, the Salah draft is going in the bin.

It is getting much harder to justify having Haaland, Salah, Rashford, etc when the £7m-£8m forwards are performing so well

    2. Men in green tights

Not sure on that as currently got Watkins , haaland , foden and salah in my draft so willing to stick with it and if need be early wild card or a hit but should be OK .

You must be missing out on other good players as a result so it’s a similar principle, can’t have them all but that extra premium who won’t be captained makes the quality dip in areas.

I did one I really likes and my only compromise/not template was a 4.5 keeper & Pedro, I was ok with that but not ok with having to go without Watkins or Eze or Mitoma or Foden or Bruno etc

Freddo, you have gone awol for sometime, hope you are well.

There are quite a number of mid priced midfielders who will do well; Eze, Mitoma, Diaby, Mbuemo (when fit) etc. I think having all + Salah is doable imo but you will have to compromize on the defence which is not a bad idea early on imo.

My account got hacked around April, I couldn’t be bothered to sort it out so left it over the Summer, tried to log on last week, changed my password as requested to by them then it locked my account, appealed twice but the account is permanently suspended now for breaking the rules (account was spamming cripto or something like that)

Not too upset, that place is just full of content creators trying to build their platforms or irritating bellends now.

Although I agree Watkins has looked good in preseason, he has previously been a streaky and purple patch player. Last season he had a purple patch between GW21 and GW32 and was a donkey the rest. First 15GW he got 2 goals and 3 assists. Last 7GW he got 1 goal. Now this is based on last season and hopefully he can keep this purple patch up and take it into this season, and maintain it, but I have my doubts. Not saying don't pick him to anyone, I just don't have as much confidence as others tbh.

Emery is a big factor here, he’s good with strikers, Auba & Lacazette had their best spells at Arsenal when he was manager, I’m not sure this is a purple path, more Emery getting the best out of him.

Very good point. There is only Pedro/Nketiah worth going for the Salah draft (Wissa etc), as you need three Arsenal (2 strikers against a team without their defence and GK, wouldn't you?

Otherwise having two 6.5 in midfield is OK. (I originally had Eze/Diaby/Saka/Salah/Rashford upfront with Nkunku upfront

I could achieve it with 3 Arsenal, 2 City, 2 United & 2 Brighton but one of the Brighton was Pedro, which is the problem because where do you go from him?

At what price does Hojlund become a must have as a nailed starting striker in a top 6 team?

With Jesus out injured, liverpool and chelsea not offering a clear forward asset, and with Haaland and Kane way pricier, I think imma get hojlund at anything below £8m
