Pep happy but it's such a bonkers match up to have each year. Makes zero sense that the champions of Europe play this 'Super Cup' against a team who weren't even of a high enough calibre to be in the same competition as them the previous season in Europe. And then to play it midweek at the start of the season. I watched it all the same but only for FPL reasons. I probably need to get out more

The only good thing about is that it has a little bit more intensity than a friendly. But a lot less intensity than a league match. Allows the managers to experiment risk free, but with some profile.

If Pep had the squad depth he had a couple of years back(or even last season) he’d be back to the bench.
With KDB out and Bernardo injured, He might get an extended run I think.
Cole was really good today as well so he might come into the fray very soon, looked really sharp in the CS game as well..

Haaland is playing at home and didn’t use up that much energy tonight so I would still captain.

Depends on your squad. I would do A and out of those 3 you've mentioned I'd go Diaby.

Wondering about all the people saying to Captain Salah. I just read an article about pool maybe losing him to some Saudi club after all? I mean, if he’s out flirting with a Saudi club, that could mean he won’t start this week?

I’m hoping it’s nonsense but worth keeping an eye on. As a Muslim, I’m sure an eventual move to KSA will ultimately be attractive to Salah - plus the salary he could get. Klopp hooking him early last week won’t have helped.

If Salah also goes to Saudi, it will be absolute madness. We ll have to start following the Saudi league then?
Atleast he can reunite with Mane and firmino!

        Possible.
One thing is for sure, Gascoigne would have never went, no matter the money on offer.

Haaland’s already won everything he can at City (except a Carabao cup). The real acid test for that league is whether it can attract world class players in their prime eg Haaland, Mbappe, Rashford

What/who will be the television audience for the Saudi League - will it get the global audience that the top European leagues have - or will the younger players disappear from global attention after a while and become less famous/marketable?

Doesn't matter so much for the over thirties setting up their retirement from playing.

Well if Salah does not start, he will at least be fresh for that last half hour plus 45 injury time the ref will add on for Bournemouth time wasting.
