First mistake (or many) of the season, decided on Shaw out for James after the City game, did the move at 10.50pm. Poch is on fraud watch now.

Baldock V Forest needs to bail me out of the poo now.

Yeah, I was going for the James/Chilwell double up for this run, frustrating because I didn’t need to do it but didn’t want to spend all day thinking about it today.

Yeah you're good for 1 week. No other defenders really pop out as rank killers unless u go up to Trippier.

Poch has always been very coy in press conferences. Did you watch the game at the weekend? As soon as he came off it looked more serious than fatigue

I mean, that's just a potential standard timeline with hamstring injuries. If it's not Grade 1, it is likely at least a month.

I am not taking this as fact until we hear about the results of the scans first.

5m, should play 90, on set pieces (possibly even pens with a 5/5 record), will be more advanced, if you temper your expectations I think he could be a great value pick.

Reece James minutes played per season:

    2019/20 - 44%
    2020/21 - 69%
    2021/22 - 55%
    2022/23 - 36%

Yet people still fall into the same trap.

Is a shame as he's obviously a very talented player. I wonder if he's doing everything correctly off the field. Loads of ex players who struggled throughout their career with injuries say part of their lifestyle off the field affected their injuries.

He’s probably doing everything but his body is just not meant for professional football at the highest level. Its not unheard of and is part of the reason its so difficult to make it in professional sports. Some people’s genetic dispositions like ratios of femur length vs arm length, for example don't allow them to perform a deadlift.

I mean in terms of partying and going out. For example I would assume the very best players hardly ever go out and are very disciplined. He may be doing all of his rehab and training but the other things play a part to.

Always pick bench options for teams you are very confident you won't want 3 options from.

Admittedly the 4.5m mid spot was very sparse this season and Carney looked like he could have come in as underpriced if he started getting regular gametime.

whatever about james's injury record and it is significant these pulled hammys and acl tears that were seeing not just in prem league but rest of europe to are maybe signs of a worrying trend. I remember a prem league physio saying that the covid break in 2020 when players training on their own would lead to a pile up of further injuries down the line, something you not might see until years later. then you have the winter world cup on top of that. FIFA want more football but maybe its coming at a huge cost in terms of the quality on show. thats three world class players in KDB , timber and james out for potentially half a season now and you feel there will be a few more major players falling by the wayside.

De Bruyne, James and Mings have always been injury prone though (the latter not as bad as the others, but he missed more than a calendar year with a knee injury before).

Timber was just unfortunate - not like he played a load of games at the World Cup either.

I'd have to actually look at the science but most of those players were picking up injuries prior to covid. KDB, Mings, James always seemed to be on the edge of a lengthy period out.

Is James only likely out for one gameweek. If so I would get him and keep for Luton with Henry on the bench in 3-4-3. Unless James is out for an extended period no point in getting Gusto. Only a Chelsea spot blocked and a transfer waiting to happen/

Salah is the glaring omission from that team if it is supposed to be a wildcard

      My gw2 wildcard team is

      Turner (Pickford)
James - Chilwell - Estupinan (Henry - Kabore)
Saka - Salah - Diaby - Maddison (Nakamba)
      Pedro - Haaland - Jackson

It really has an eye on gw3 - 8 really.

With 1m itb bank to get Alvarez instead of Pedro gw3.

If transfer window was closed, R9 would be in my team already. But Spurs now have lots of cash and need a new striker

They definitely need a new striker, one that scores more than 1 goal a season 🙂

this seems like the perfect week to go against haaland. Annoying how there arent any good options outside salah

If Spurs defend like they did vs Brentford, Rash can easily get a goal or two.

KDB and James with the same bad hamstring injury, and they didn't even pull up lame on a hard run.

As always.. haven't seen anyone talk or ask this, specially since the news broke hours ago. But.. now that R.James is out, surely that means Gusto is starting RB?

Are you sure you haven't heard ANYONE talk about this? There are a few comments on this page alone.

Really? Haven't seen or read it... probably slipper through all of these comments about other Chelsea players not called Reece James.

Does Reece's injury have a negative impact on Nico Jackson? I don't know what Malo Gusto is like going forward but highly doubt he's as creative as James. And they've missed out on Olise. Sterling, Mudryk, Chukwuemeka and Madueke don't exactly fill me with confidence.

Jackson didn't fill me with confidence based on how he played let alone who else was on the pitch. I think he needs a few games to get to speed.
