    Current team

    Areola
    Trippier Udogie Botman
Odegaard B. Fernandes Son Rashford Saka*
    Alvarez Haaland

    Subs: Turner Kabore Gusto* Mubama

    No FT. 0.0 ITB

Would you suggest a WC to remove Saka and bring in Salah with adjustments elsewhere?

I dont think I would wildcard. I dont even think I would -4 as Saka could be back next week. Just play Kabore.

Certainly not just on the basis of (what we know about) the Saka situation. Don't like that Rash/Bruno double but the rest looks pretty good

Depends if you're a risk averse player or a roll the dice player.

Break it down logically in your mind. Morris needs to score at least 4 more than Wissa obviously. Even after 2x 90 mins, Wissa will get the same for one game so you still need Morris to do something attacking in one of those games and hope Wissa who has an okay fixture on paper against Forest doesn't do the same.

I don't see the same upside in Luton most people do, they were a poor side attacking wise in the Championship considering their league position and they have got to go to Goodison Park, can't see them being very attack minded in either game personally, they'll try and pinch both games and both are must not lose 6 pointers. Sure he's on penalties but how many penalties do you think they'll get this season? They've already had 2.

Might be worth risking given that Morris has 2 games in week 7 so assuming both players play you are getting 2 extra appearance points alone. My answer would be yes but I am perhaps a more aggressive FPL manager than most. Some years ago took a -16 and still got a green arrow!

Current WC draft - just somewhere to record it, feel free to comment or ignore me.

    Turner/Leno
    Cash, Andersen, Walker, Bell/Kabore, Trippier
    Saka, Madds, Son, JWP, Bowen
    Alvarez/Darwin, Morris, Haaland
0.7m itb (or 0.3 with Darwin)

Saka can become Bruno, or Rashford in 1FT, or can downgrade to Diaby if need funds elsewhere.

To make it a Salah team I coudl do:
Saka, Trippier, Alvarez > Salah, Botman, Pedro

Pedro was the player that made Salah work in a gw1 squad, but it's frustrating so he needs to be 1st sub really.

Alvarez has gone off the boil in 1 week but no reason why he won't do well again next game.

It'd be typical if everyone buys Luton players for this DGW when really it's the Burnley players like Koleosho and Amdouni that should be looked at since Burnley are a better team than Luton

Nobody is looking at them at all. They created over 1.3xG vs United. If on a one-week punt I'd go Amdouni.

I've ended up watching quite a few Burnley games and although from an FPL POG they're a nice target because of the ambitious press they've employed against the likes of Spurs & Villa, they do look to have a lot more about them (in attack especially)

Brought in Foster in GW5. Solid 3rd striker, decent 1st bench option, .5 cheaper, getting ok returns. One stray elbow and that cunning plan collapsed quicker than a badly baked cake.

That was the lowest xGC ManUtd have conceded in a game this season. I don't fully disagree on paper, but from what I've read Luton have been impressing more in an attacking sense as games go by. They outplayed Wolves even before the red card

    good morning,

Sell haaland for Darwin a crazy idea?

This allowed him to have the following team:

    Onana
Trippier Botman Cash (Estipinan + Udigie)
    Salah Rashford Bruno Foden Son
    Darwin Alvarez (Morris)

Manchester United and Totenham fixtures are very good.

Looking at Salah/Salahless WC team (probably not doing it yet) and it comes down to

Salah, Archer (bench) & play Gordon/Neto versus Saka, Watkins and bench Gordon/Neto.

Either way I already have 7 players in my team, 8 if I don't go with Salah.

Salah is great but Saka and Son have outscored him.

But Salah is consistent and often available.

Mitoma, Maddison and Bowen are all v close points wise too.

It is a close call and as much as I like Salah team looks better without him, plus with Haaland you are unlikely to captain Salah that often unless he starts to explode, which he can.

Would have Mitoma, Son & Bowen in WC team.

I think it's 2 of Salah, Saka or Son.

          then slot the others in.

it's possible to do it with Haaland but needs a wildcard or great team value.

Contemplating a WC after a terrible last 2 weeks. If Saka and/ or Maddison are injured as well I'll be pushing that button.

If you can get there in 2 transfers then I'm envious!

I think if Saka is injured it does change things and I can look at something along the lines of:

            Areola Turner

            Botman Estu Udogie Cash Kabore

            Salah Son Diaby Maddison Bowen

            Haaland Alvarez

I like the idea of a Spurs double up (although I should be scarred from Rashford and Bruno).
Alvarez could be Morris for the double.

Spurs and Villa have good fixtures coming up and both Cash and Udogie look to have a good amount of attacking threat. Estu very attacking in a very attacking team too.

I do wonder if Nunez could effectively cover Salah for the upcoming fixtures. Normally averse to coverage as a concept, but given how many of Mo's assists will be for Darwin, and the price differential, if he gets enough minutes I think it's a possibility.

but JWP could be setting him up or scoring a direct free kick. He's a bit cheaper too.

I think it's much a muchness. With Bowen you pay roughly an extra 20% and get roughly an extra 20% attacking output (or maybe a smidgen more) from what we've seen so far.

What really sways it for me is that JWP has only missed 2 premier league games in 4 years (and I think those he missed were for a red card). That's incredible.

AND he's playing in a better team, but yet is priced cheaper than last season.

Probably a set and forget season-keeper.

The thing I like Bout JWP is he was 1 BPS off bonus last match.

West Ham lost 3-1 and JWP wasn't even involved in the goal WHU scored...

Agree Bowen has much higher goal threat, but JWP has done well so far. Owns most set pieces, cheaper, etc. Has also returned against good teams.

I've done this before on a similar basis and it pretty much always went badly. He scored a hattrick despite being subbed before 60 mins v Wolves last season, on other occasions where you'd think he'd definitely get rested he played 80+ mins. In my opinion just play the fixtures and don't overthink things like this

Gordon. 4 YCs will dissuade people but he plays in a better team, has put up really good numbers, more nailed now that Barnes is injured.

Pick him up if you have a decent first sub to cover the inevitable suspension.

Can always play over Botman, especially in gw9 - 12

    2. The Mentaculus

Yeah I think so. I like having 4 to rotate into 3 spots by fixtures. And even if all 4 have a good fixture run I'd still prefer having Cash 1st sub rather than someone like Kabore/Beyer to cope with any issues like suspensions

    3. House Frey Wedding Planner
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 2 months ago

Yes. There will be gameweeks where Cash is a better option than those listed. At worst you'll have a good 1st sub if one of your starting XI doesn't play

I'm about 5 moves away from a decent Salah wildcard team:
Saliba, Estu, Bruno, Mbuemo, Watkins to
    Udogie, Trippier, Salah, Gibbs-White, Archer

The second one looks much nicer going forward. The main transfer is Trippier over Watkins, and going from 8 attackers to 7.

    GW7 (1FT) - Mbuemo to Gibbs-White
    GW8 (1FT) - Saliba to Udogie
    GW9 (1FT) - Estu to Trippier
    GW10 (1FT) - Bruno, Watkins to Salah, Archer (-4)

Is all of this worth it for Salah?!

That's the other issue. I have 0.3itb by GW10, which might not be enough.
I could just do Bruno, Watkins to Salah, Archer next GW (0.6itb) but that would mean no Trippier.

        GW7 (1FT) - Roll
GW8 (2FT) - Mbeumo, Bruno, Alvarez to Gordon, Salah, Archer (-4)
        GW9 (1FT) - Tark to Botman

Yeah, I brought Andersen in on my WC, specifically for this DGW, and then he went and missed last GW. For now he's sitting last on my bench, and I'm playing Digne instead. If he was going to play both matches, I'd start him, but even if that's the case, he's probably only on for a 4 pointer, so I'm not overly fussed.

Mhm same did i. I see that Luton played their first games with 5 at the back, but last game only with a back 4. so if they keep playing with 4 at the back he will not play i guess.
