For anyone that was punting on Reguilon.

Sergio Reguilon out of Crystal Palace with a muscle injury, question mark over whether he will return for Galatasaray and Brentford.

Manchester United left with no fit senior left-backs.

The amount of injuries to teams just 6 gameweeks into the season is absolutely insane. There's something more to this I'm sure, whether it be the schedule or what. This isn't normal though...

I feel like I read from someone on this forum who mentioned that a pro athletes doctor or physio, said that because many of the players had to train on their own during covid times, they would suffer long term with muscle injuries and similar because they didn't train properly as they would with the teams doctors and physios and so.

Their might be something to it seeing how that is exactly the type of injuries that are occurring.

They had a decent break but of course clubs go to America and SE Asia to cash in on the global appeal.

I think the Europa League should be canned for a UEFA 2-leg knock out tournament.

I kind of feel its been coming. There haven't been that many significant injuries from an FPL perspective during the season itself (Jesus was a big one pre-season) and people have had the luxury of using transfers on players who were potentially in okay form with okay fixtures because others had better fixtures and they had transfers to use because of no injuries.

    My team :

    Areola ( Turner )

Estu Cash Botman ( Udogie, Baldock )
    Saka Salah Maddison Mitoma Rash
    Haaland Alvarez Archer

    1 FT / 0.0 ITB

    Which transfers you recommend ?

Thought of Charlie Taylor > Baldock to increase the number of players since many players are in doubt.

    But is Taylor nailed ?

Yeah, seems rash. Don't think anybody would be contemplating Saka out if it wasn't for a slight knock either. Overblown...he's the highest scoring mid!

Yeah I am terrified of selling Saka with that gw10 v Sheffield around the corner. Saka's form has been too good - plus is on pens.

I honestly would likely chance selling Haaland ahead of Saka to be honest. Thankfully I have gw8 to make the decision on which route I will be taking.

If I go Nakama OUT - Son IN gw8 - I will be on the Haaland out path (back in gw14)
If I go Saka OUT - Son In gw8 - I won't be getting Saka back anytime soon, barring injuries.

Not with my set up and with funds tight.
My Haaland OUT plan gw10 would be to get Haaland, Son, Saka, Salah by gw14.

Selling Saka and getting him back would involve getting Son gw8. Then selling Son gw10 when he has Palace and Saka has Sheffield. I also would not be able to get Son back then without a -4 to create funds.
I am not going to sell Maddison because I got him at 7.5m. Diaby can't sell him good fixtures and form, I will also want Salah in gw10. Already risking not getting him for gw9.

Is this worth a WC. I need to do something as I am having my worst season in 12 years.

    Current team is:
    Turner Pope
    Gabriel Estupiñán Udogie Chilwell Baldock
    Foden Saka Mbeuma Maddison
    Luiz Dias
    Haaland Alvarez J Pedro

    Proposed WC team would be:
    Turner Areola

    Saka Son Maddison Bowen Neto
    Haaland Alvarez Watkins

    1. Wobbles
      • 5 Years

It's definitely borderline WC time. You could just take Chilwell - Botman/Burn, out this week and reassess next week.
If you willing to play Udogie you could also roll and with an additional hit next week have 3 transfers to make some big changes.

            Ok.
            Let me rephrase it.
Not without having a 5-5.5m starter in either mid of fwd line, alternatively playing 4 at the back.

              • 5 Years

Both perfectly viable - Neto, Gordon, Edouard, Wissa, Ferguson all decent options to facilitate it imo

For the record, I think Maddison covers Son and allows an upgrade on the facilitating player. That's my approach - but I still think it's viable to have Son and Salah

If I was going to WC this week, I could/would probably get

          Turner, Areola
          Botman, Schar, Cash, Pau, Kabore
          Salah, Son, Maddison, JWP, Diaby
          Haaland, Alvarez, Archer

Which I don't think is too much of a sacrifice anywhere. No Saka, and Trippier is Schar. Pau would probably be someone else - that's got 1.3 in the bank and my team value isn't that great. So yes, sacrifices (going without the top scoring midfielder for a start), but reasonable choices, I think.

Not sure what I think of it, though. I'm still not quite convinced Salah is worth it.

You can very easily have something like:

      Leno / Areola

      Salah - Son - Mbeumo - Maddison - Diaby
      Haaland - Alvarez - Archer

This is what I could work towards if I lose Saka:
      Leno Rodak
      Estupinan Digne Porro Botman Kabore
      Salah Son Maddison Mitoma Diaby
      Haaland Darwin Archer

Sacrifice is obviously Saka / 8-9m mid bracket but I think it could be worth a go up to GW12 then reevaulate. Not sure about Salah's value longer-term though

    RMT please
    Sanchez (Areola)

    Alvarez Haaland (Morris)

Used WC, so could poss change out Saka for any other mid if injury news comes to light.

Looks like Saka news filtering in, FPL dropped chance to play to 50%.
Gonna swap him out (can bring him back next week), but for who?

      a) Maddison
      b) Bowen
      c) Odegaard
      d) Other (can afford anyone)
