    Time to WC this lot?

    Pickford (Turner)
    Estupinan Botman Kabore (Baldock Gusto)
    Salah Maddison Son JWP Saka
    Haaland Alvarez (Morris)

    Defence is a shocker!

with a couple of defense moves this week in transfers, then another next week, you should be sorted

I'm not convinced by that tbh mate. Was looking at GW9/10 to poss WC so I question whether my WC picks will really differ much a few GW's from now? I suppose I recoup the hit from the Botman 12pt haul in GW6 (when I bought him in).

You can't Estupiñán, he is your only fit and decent defender ... still leaves you with Kabore Baldock Gusto

I would sell Morris (you can't start him over anyone else) to Archer and get an extra starting defender too this week

I have Udogie; my instinct would say Porro, but for Luton in particular, the FF Scout main page has a good underlying consideration for Udogie:

"[Porro] is bossing the underlying stats, leading for shots (9-1) and key passes (9-7), yet Udogie could haul against a Luton side that have allowed 30 chances from their right flank over the last six, one of the four highest totals in the division."

I'd say roughly 50-50 if it's a two week punt.

    Turner Areloa

Gw8 wild cards containing the Saka exodus ...

A simple switch back from Son tho when the time is right.

It improves the appeal of Saka, along with his points scored most weeks.

When is the time right though? Saka has Sheffield Utd and Burnley in GWs 10 and 12 respectively, while Spurs' good run arguably ends after GW13. If Spurs keep playing the way they are (and I don't see why they wouldn't) I don't think dropping Son will be simple even with tougher games. He's come out of Arsenal and Liverpool with 3 goals

        gw10 in a switch-ero?

Mind, Son came unstuck against Sheff Utd.

It's a sacrifice. Unless something happens to Salah or Haaland but they are normally in fine fettle.

There are ways, mostly sacrificing Trippier I guess since I won't compromise on Maddison & would like to keep Darwin (also would have to pay 7.0 for Alvarez). But ultimately I'm just not sure I like the balance of my potential Salah teams longer term.

Played my WC GW4. Ever since then I've been trying to keep my options open re: Salah. Last week took the first step sacrificing Saka (perhaps regrettably...) so could do the above moves for free GW9 or -4 this week. Having doubts about that plan now, but even if I fo through with it, it would probably only be til GW12 if I can't find another way to bring Saka back then

that's basically the game this year. "how do you build a balanced team when you have to devote 14m to one dude? or do you just...not?"

if your target is top 1k, go for it

but prepared to be out of 2m if he brace and your cap blanks

    Can only get one ..

    Porro or Cash

Porro: lut FUL cry CHE wol

Cash: wol WHM LUT nfo FUL

Porro higher cs chances next 2, potential hauls if he gets an assist

Cash better longer term, more goal threat/attacking

I'm not sure how many clean sheets Spurs will keep ...

2 so far and a fair chance next up.

Porro for me. These are all glorious fixtures for CS. Bit wary of Cash's next 2 in that respect, especially with the European away game. Also I don't think there's a huge difference in attacking threat if you bracket the Burnley game where Cash played RW (although I haven't checked that statistically)

Yeah checked the Burnley fixture, even if you take it out still xg 0.26 vs Porros 0.07

        Big difference

Ok fair enough, I guess its because Porro's shots are almost all from outside the box. Still fancy him to nail some of these. Both great options anyway, tight call, but my gut feel is Porro outscores Cash in this timeframe

    Which WC draft looks better:

    1)
    Areola
    Trippier - UDOGIE - Cash
    SAKA - Son - Mitoma - Bowen - Diaby
    Haaland - WATKINS
    Turner - AWONIYI - Taylor - Lascelles
(Small bit in the bank to upgrade bench if needed, could downgrade Awoniyi for extra cash either)

    2)
    Areola
    Trippier - BURN - Cash
    SALAH - Son - Mitoma - Bowen - Diaby
    Haaland - ALVAREZ
    Turner - ARCHER - Taylor - Lascelles
    (0 ITB)

    Areola
    Trippier Robbo Udogie

Who will score the LEAST in GW8?

just by rule, C, because he's a DEF against a top attacking side, so the ceiling is lower. wouldn't bank on any of them getting more than 2, though.

I had Sterling starting over Saka, but then I happened to be awake at 5am US east coast time on Saturday and changed it before the deadline cause it seemed like Saka would play. So another Sterling 2 pointer is fine by me.

Shame I didn't also switch in Andersen for Estupinan, though.

Arsenal at home to City, Saka will play again. I watched WOL vs MCI and based on their terrible defensive performance, no way they will keep a clean sheet GW8.

may as well sell Sterling, for a hit even, if benching.

I was v close to Bowen in for Sterling -4, but tossed a coin and it landed Sterling on tails so I held.

It's likely to be marginal. Unless he goes on for a haul or a penalty miss and red card!

for this GW I did Chilwell and Jackson to Trippier and Morris, and I've already moved Henry for Cash.

So Sterling will be on my bench again in GW8

this is basically the template WC, right?

    Turner (Areola)
    Trippier, Cash, Udogie, Burn (Taylor)
Salah, Son, Maddison, Diaby (Anderson / any 4.4)
    Haaland, Watkins (Archer)

bench is terrible but that's what you get going with three premiums

You somehow think that the pre-season advice of 3 premiums bad isn't going to work either.

Then again, that's 4 with Trippier and most have 3 with Saka or Son.
