Just some points I would like to make.

    1. This is a game. Don't take it too seriously. Enjoy it.
    2. Play your own game.
    3. Don't take a sh*te in someone else's post because of the game they want to play. It is there team, not yours.
    4. Don't be obsessive with what other people do with their team. It is their team. Concentrate on yours.
    5. Just because some people do not follow the narritive or play the way you do, there is no need to take a sh*te on their post.
    6. Being obsessive with what someone else is doing is creepy and disturbing.

That is it. Have a good weekend all!

Perhaps if you weren’t obsessed with telling everyone how much of a maverick you are you wouldn’t get the feedback you’re wanting to avoid.

So bored put a gw10 WC together

    Johnstone Areola
    Gabriel Cash Botman 4.5 Taylor
    Salah Son Saka Mitoma Soucek
    Haaland Watkins Foster

Allows any formation to be played - skittles permitting - through to post Xmas.

    Thoughts?

I don’t mind it when you’re able to rotate 1 in either a 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. Or bench both in a 4-4-2. That strategy could be better than, say, a better 5th MID but with Archer

Getting an edge is harder than ever in FPL. And this -- knowing who is a bonus points magnet and why -- is one of the last few ways left of getting it. Enjoy it while it lasts. Because like all the other FPL advantages we used to enjoy as engaged managers, it'll be gone soon.

Another awful England performance despite having the best team over Australia.

Southgate only gets a performance when he has England's best players who make his crap tactics look good with individual moments of brilliance.

What's the point in winning 4-0 or 5-0? People would then say: "It's only Australia, stop getting carried away"

England or Southgate can NEVER win, ever. Even if they did win the Euro's, people would still say something like "You scraped it on penalties" or "England had an easy run"

I don't mind people from other countrie's saying these sorts of things, that's normal. But I cannot put into words how much I despise our own fans saying these things. It pains me to say this, but I think we have the worst fans in the world. It's close with Real Madrid fans.

Agree. Southgate, a lovely fella, but out of his depth in international management. With draws from the the gods in the last 3 tournaments, with a standardly tactically aware coach, we should have won been RU in 2018 and Won 2020. To be fair we were unlucky in 2022.

JWP takes most set pieces but the pen taker still unclear. I think Paqueta took one earlier in the season when he was off the pitch.

I love Bowen and he is a great goal threat but for a million less you get a guy that hoovers bonus - he got 1 bonus point the other week in a game where he didnt even get an attacking return.

I have JWP in my team but if Bowen looks too hard to resist I have no problem moving Mbuemo out for Bowen and doubling up with JWP.

Who's the best 4m defender right now (WC already used)? Evans is top form but I'm assuming starts will be thin on the ground. My gut instinct is to revert back to Kabore who I had before my WC but feels like a step backwards (I wildcarded out Salah and Watkins and taking hits to get back in now)!

He's only just taking 2 shots per game and creating less than 1 chance a game. With a 30% goal conversion rate and a xGI delta of +3.4 as well, don't expect the returns to continue at the same rate.

First on your bench at best.

I'd try and get Van de Ven to Gabriel or Burn (or Porro if you really want Spurs) but you'll need money.

He's played 650 minutes out of a possible 720, that hardly screams often rotation to me...

Unless Brighton go out of the cups, I don't think any Brighton players are worth it. RDZ has already proven that he will do mass rotation at will without batting an eyelid. Save yourself the hassle of trying to read between the lines of his press conference quotes and for waiting until midnight for his embargoed quotes and for sweating his team sheet every weekend.

Thing is we don't actually have to read between the lines with him when he just tells us who is starting. There's no more helpful manager in the league with team news / pressers. Also Mitoma's mins are no concern to me; will be bringing him back soon I think

That's what I can't be doing with. I had Mitoma since gameweek 1, predicted his benching, sold him and got punished by his second half brace. In the end I don't think it is worth it having to listen to his entire press conference, searching frantically for embargoed quotes, listening to how Brighton fans interpret his team news, trying to dig out decent predicted starting 11s from regional journalists etc

Hmm yeah I really prefer to work with a squad where I have at least one strong playable sub. I benched Diaz after the last IB and would hate to be in a position where I felt I had to sell someone like Mitoma just due to one benching. But that is becoming tougher now with Haaland/Salah/Son sucking up so much of the budget

Starting every game bar one out of 11 games in all comps all season and still playing 45mins in the game he was benched in definitely seems like he's rotated too much

Good luck trying to predict RDZ. I can't be doing with the stress personally. He does my head in with all his cryptic clues signposting his starting 11. It is too much trying to figure him out week after week. He has been far worse than Pep. I want out.

            Really like it.

            What's your SV and TV?

Can you get Porro in over Udogie? He's worth it if you can find a downgrade somewhere.

I still don't trust Arteta on Gabriel.

I wouldn't go with a changeable formation unless you have done extremely detailed research and the fixture rotation is at polar opposites.

For a shot off target, you are deducted -1 bps.

Does anyone know if this includes on target shots deflected off target?

Or if a shot grazes the post?

Assuming this goes under the same rules as most bookies do, hitting the post isn't on target as it didn't result in a goal or save. A shot deflected wide shouldn't be regarded as a miss

Think hitting the woodwork and deflecting out has always been classed as off target, since the stats were brought in.

I distinctly remember Newcastle hitting the woodwork several times against Allardyce's West Ham, and BFS saying post game that he was happy that his team had prevented any shots on target

No need. We saw Mbeumo getting -1 every time he hit the post. Hitting the post (if the ball doesn't go into the net) is off target by definition. As simple as that.

I've got a bit of a benching dilemma this week. I'm currently considering either Dias or Botman to bench, but I guess there's an argument to put Sterling there instead.

          Turner
          Porro | Trippier | Dias
          Saka | Sterling | Maddison | Son | Foden
          Haaland | Watkins
          ------------------------------------------------------
          Pickford | Botman | Archer | Kabore

          Bench:
          a) Botman (CRY)
          b) Dias (BHA)
          c) Sterling (ARS)

            "Always play the attacker."

            That's what LTFPL always says.

Besides Dias and even Botman's goal threat is limited. A set piece attacking return is a complete lottery.

Not sure he's that worth it personally. Never been overly impressed by him in attacking play (not to say he's bad though), but if TAA is playing he won't be that advanced. Some good fixtures there but I can see Everton (have one of the highest xG records this season) and Forest (solid counter attacking side) scoring against them so the only game I'd expect a clean sheet is Luton

Don't think so. If TAA was still out I might be slightly interested but I expect he'll be inverting so I'm not sure what kind of attacking license Tsimi will have & I don't think he's an upgrade on my current defenders

You would assume he will be starting most games for the time Robbo is out. And he is 4.4. Also better offensively than he is defensive. That's good. But if Trent is inverting, Klopp might (I don't think so) play Gomez there. And Klopp doesn't trust Tsimikas, so you can also get the odd subs before 60 minutes, if he plays poorly, which he sometimes does. Counter argument is that if it's for a long time, Kostas usually gets better with more regular game time (which is normal). It makes Liverpool worse defensively, but from an attack pov, he's offering a lot in terms of crosses and he's more of a dribbler than Robertson. Not as fast and less physical.

Is Sam Johnstone a good option, particularly to replace Leno? I also have Areola.

I think the Areola Leno rotation is good for the next 5 GWs...

I am happy even with Areola (basically) alone (I have Turner with him). Good fixtures for pretty long term and may haul even in more difficult fixtures.

          Whats my best option here?

          Leno areola
Cash, udogie, trippier, botman, Andersen (lut)
          Rashford, son, maddison, bowen, Mbeumo
          Haaland, alvarez, morris

          2ft
          Mitb 1.7m

          A) rashford and Mbeumo > salah and Andersen
          B) morris>archer and roll the other transfer
          C) botman and morris> tsimikas and Darwin
          D) other ideeas?

Ditch Rashford and Mbeumo for Diaby and Saka

look to do Rash & Morris to Saka & Watkins for gw 10, so probably sell Mbuemo this week if you need to raise funds

Any Sterling owner's selling this week? The plan for me was to always to keep him until Chelsea's good fixture ended. However, it's always difficult selling a player after a haul, particularly at his price point. How many of these fixture's would you start Sterling if you owned him? ARS (H) - BRE (H) - TOT (A) - MCI (H) - NEW (A) - BHA (H) - MUN (A)

For me, the answer is 3 or 4 so I'm thinking about just saving myself the headache and getting rid.

I'm thanking him for his haul and selling this week I think. The only reason not to would be if it's a Brighton mid I'm moving to so Arsenal at home is better than City away which might earn him a week.

Not owned him and kicked myself for not going Alvarez & Sterling but getting in Jackson & Foden before his first haul. Am eying up his gave vs Sheffield united as possible cap punt but as a non owner am not worried at people keeping sterling between now and next IB given the fixtures for other mids. Like Tottenham Chelsea benefit from no Europe and we’re just starting to tick but if you’re thinking of rotating him maybe just bank your points and move on?
