I could do Doug Luiz/Chuckwuemeka > Soucek the Destroyer/Palmer with mine two trades this week, leaving 0.1m ITM. Grateful thoughts regarding these clever and worthwhile trades please.

I like that. Two upgrades, and they rotate well

Let's hope Soucek keeps attacking today. If not, maybe just D Luiz to Hwang

Are these starters in your team or you just reshuffling bench warmers?

If its the latter you want experience in sitting on the bench, someone like Lingard or Giroud.

I would rather consider Jacob Murphy as a budget mid.

Yesterday, he looked like a younger version of KDB. However, Palmer on Pens is tempting too.

Yeah, Soucek in an advanced role, plus the deliveries from JWP, another great stock filler that will end up scoring points for the bench team.

      Happy days.

Does Ode cover Saka? I know you don’t like the word cover, but essentially that’s what it is.

I having nothing against the word cover but the fact remains - there is no such thing as cover in fpl.
Maybe if you talk defenders\goalies from well organised teams you can aim to catch those collective CS points but for offensive players it is truly every man for himself.

They're the same price, but Ode has 3 fewer returns in 9 GWs, while playing one more game than Saka

At that price, he's not just competing with Saka, but also Maddison, Watkins and Bowen. I think Ode's probably gone as an asset this season. But If you already have him, Sheffield could be a bad time to sell. Could be like the Bournemouth game all over again, after Ode had only 2 returns in his prior 6 GWs

Sheffield conceded thrice to Fulham and twice to Man U, and chasing a few Premier League records after conceding twice or more in every game except against Palace, who don't score many

Is that sentiment based on Haaland's 4 points against them?

Oh no wait Mbuemo is staying regardless.

              It’s either:

Foden & Morris to Saka & Archer or Palmer/Soucek & Watkins

Yeah, I agree with losing Foden (not involved) and Morris (expensive sub) to get Saka or Watkins. It's Saka for me due to his wider range of routes to points, but that could swing either way

                Good luck 🙂

An interesting question for av em all. If there was no EO I would not have Saka and TBH there is very little difference atm.
I think decisions will be made for GW10:
How many Arsenal, Spurs, Villa, Brighton, Hammers, Pool, Newcastle, Citeh?
Do we use sacrifice TV to get players when we might have to go back to them?

Here's my team's approach to this dilemma:

        Arsenal: Saka

Spurs: Son Maddison Udogie (soon to be Guehi as fixtures turn)

Villa: Cash. Would have liked Watkins or Diaby, but no space. If I was on a WC, Maddison vs Watkins would have been interesting

Brighton: Lamptey 3rd sub. Mitoma would be nice, but RdZ roulette and European exertion (higher risk of injuries and rests, like Lamptey) dampen the enthusiasm

Hammers: JWP Coufal Areola. JWP to Soucek in GW10 if Soucek keeps the advanced role that used to be JWP's just before I bought the lad. Down to just Areola from GW15, with Chelsea fixtures turning then

Pool: Salah's enough for me. Gonna cap him more often now, as Haaland's stats have dipped for some reason

        Newcastle: Trippier

City: Haaland Alvarez (until KDB bounces him)

There are many good players who aren't here, including some gems from lower teams (Hwang's on fire). Makes things more engaging, methinks 🙂

Depends how long you’ll be without them and how many hits you’ll have to take in the process. Jumping from one good asset to another and using only fixtures as a benchmark is a very risky business indeed.

    Johnstone

    Porro / Trippier / Cash

    Salah / Bowen / Foden / Mbuemo / Maddison

    Haaland / Alvarez

    Turner / Botman / Muniz / Baldock

    A. Foden, Mbuemo > Mitoma, Martinelli

save your wildcard for when the inevitable injuries and suspensions pile up in Nov or Dec.

I know the narrative is to wildcard early but that's largely on the back of a spluttering early template.

    Everyone happy? Everyone scored!
I must say, the larger choice in the template is refreshing and we mostly hoped more than "Haaland Cap" to be the decider on points accumulation.
I think the gameweek demonstrates so far, the prediction uncertainty with the OR points gap between top and bottom of the pile far smaller than in previous seasons.
Is it not time for some serious restructure of the game.
Get Rid of captaincy if not all chips. Replace all flagged players with a lesser price alternative for the time a player is not playing. Have a WC on GW 20 only each season and that is it. Have 2 tfr's every week and save up to 4. Create transparency on price rise algorithm. Get rid of EO best one can. Stop AI bots being able to analyze the entirety of all managers in the game,
I am no expert and I am sure FPL Towers do most things for a reason, with a strategy to keep managers involved. However, they can hide the price rises but they can't stop managers with multi teams. These points alone detracts from the game IMO.
I look at the experts and the rankings are massively varied, which will eventually impact on followers. Good now; but later?
There are many ideas out there, but it would be refreshing to tweak the system. I know the experts use strategies with chips towards the end of the season to gain rank. It just seems so confined to manipulation rather than keeping the game open and fair for all.
I am one of those guys that does this particularly well, late on in my mini leagues when the casual player suffers. I am not sure I like it.

alternatively you could have capped Salah.

the radio commentary was saying he was having a stinker but the better players take the moment like the penalty then he pops up with a second goal.

      funny old game.

You are right. I did cap Salah ironically. Not my style being an early kick off. I got points slightly against the grain. Not a great fan of Raptor, but at least he went all in and I will follow him because his team offers more interest than the usual crew.
I would like a poll from FF Scout showing Salah And Haaland, just Haaland or just Salah.
By the way, I watched the game and the ref decisions was the greatest influence on the game. Salah played like Salah.

With the way this season's going, just get the cheapest one for now

The gap between the best and worst of the regularly starting keepers is smaller than pretty much anywhere else in FPL, so it's easy to scrape the barrel by using the Areola Turner to rotate
