Just watched the highlights from the Newcastle game - Gordon involved in everything. He won’t be a differential for much longer.

Yeah lad looks good. Trickier fixtures on the horizon, but great value.

I'm looking to get him in GW12. Watkins the priority this week (funded by a downgrade elsewhere).

Could get him in GW11 but probably have to back Diaby (NFO) over Gordon (ARS). Who knows though.

Yeah, I actually think Gordon could do well against Arsenal. He can punish them on the counter. Such great value if he can keep his form - Isak injured as well.

Diaby also obviously a good pick with those fixtures. But he cost more.

For me the move would be in order to accommodate Maddison > Saka. But let's see how the next two fare!

Interesting to see if Isak and Murphy being out for a couple weeks will affect Newcastle going forward. Wilson and Almiron will either be fatigued from playing every minute, or rotated for players of a significant downgrade. That might affect the team's attacking play with Gordon in mind (I was previously sold on him)

Uh oh I was tinkering and came across an exact money -8. Tradition demands I pull the trigger. Not sure I have a choice. Oh it involves selling everybody's favourite arsenal player so that's an intriguing twist.

It's Saka, sterling, Awoniyi > martinelli, Bowen, darwin. Knock on effects see Alvarez benched this week, martinelli next week. A sensible cautious man would of course not do this. My assessment is Saka > martinelli, sterling > Bowen, Alvarez gw10/martinelli gw11 > darwin are all improvements. Martinelli and Darwin low ownership sounds a klaxon in my head. Obviously I have to do this.

    Will leave me with

    Martinez
    Udogie Trippier Colwill
Salah (C) son Maddison Martinelli Bowen
    Darwin Watkins

    Areola Alvarez Pinnock Tavares

Would you stick with this, or play WC to bring in Salah(c) & Saka? (Plus a few other moves to tidy up)

Would probably have to sacrifice Haaland or Alvarez to accommodate.

Compromise would be Bruno > Martinelli (0.1m short for Saka)

    Turner
    Gabriel Cash Trippier
    Son Maddison Diaz Palmer
    Alvarez Haaland Watkins

    Johnstone Bruno Gusto Beyer

These Brighton injury updates are really vague, but as reported by the Sussex Express 8 hrs ago:

    "Pervis Estupinan
The Ecuador international left-back sustained his muscular injury against Aston Villa and is expected to miss at least Ajax and Fulham - possiby available for the Everton clash

    Tariq Lamptey
One of the best players on the pitch in Marseille but has not been seen since. Missed the matchday squad at Man City and will hope to return to face Ajax. Photo: Mike Hewitt"

BHAFC twitter account has posted pictures of Estupinan in training.
Haven't seen any solid news on Lamptey but should return ahead of Estupinan

Counter points, just as food for thought:

Trippier has high ownership but Son is likely going to outscore him by some margin, meaning skipping out on him will likely hurt even more

Bowen is your Trippier placeholder. He can become Trippier in GW15 (when Trippier's fixtures turn green again) and switch to 4-3-3 while keeping the big hitters

Also, a word on Newcastle's defence: they've conceded against every good attack they've faced this season, including twice to West Ham while Trippier has been in form. Not their fault, really, as no defence has been fixture-proof this season: the good attacks score in almost every game now. This puts quite the low ceiling on what Trips might get in those games, while Son gets even better chances against the better teams due to his Vardy-like runs. This is why I'd prioritise Son in GW10

But just as how it was wise to jump on Trippier from GW5 even though he hadn't gotten more than 2 points in any match until then, I think it's important to jump right back on him in GW15 and not be influenced by the possible recent blanks by that time

And to clarify: I think Trippier is a great asset. I just don't think losing Son for him is worth it

Cash + Bowen to Trippier + 5.5 by GW15 could be golden

The way I see it, at least

                It's Son v Maddison
                V
                Cash v Trippier though

                Not Son v Trippier

I would back Maddison & Trippier over Son & Cash ... that said I have all 4 🙂

Appreciate the detailed response mate. Tend to agree with you. I actually owned Trippier till last gw and enjoyed his hauls, but with the fixtures turning and Son and Watkins banging it seems the best route to getting both in. Like you said I can get him back in after 6 gws when his fixtures become good again. Just hoping he doesn’t hurt me too much till then.

Has anyone used up their entire bench (less GK) in one GW? Or am I right that that's a rare happening compared with the pre-Covid time due to the three subs EPL rule.

Even needing two seems unusual. I will have carried the English Patient, I mean Baldock, for six weeks on Saturday. .

    Advice please!

    Choosing between a -4 and a WC.

    A) Bruno, Mbuemo, Tripps OUT (-4)
    Pickford
    Cash, Udogie, Gabriel*
    Salah*, Son, Maddison, Saka, Palmer*
    Haaland, Alvarez

    Turner, Botman, Beyer, Mubama

    B) WC
    Areola
    Cash, Gabriel, Tsimikas
    Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer
    Haaland, Alvarez, Watkins

    Turner, Guehi, Nakamba, Taylor

Pretty bad bench for both. WC is basically to get a starting bench and Watkins over Maddison...FOMO for Watkins after I sold him for 7.9 🙁 .

    What do you guys think?

Why is it this week, getting Saka is totally consuming me. I cannot remember ever being so undecided on how to go about it. I bet I am not the only one.

      Just get Martinelli instead 😉

Yep. Talked about this. Concerned over Jesus fitness because he makes things happen for Martinelli.

    My current WC Team

    3.9 Areola

    Taylor Lascelle Tsimikas Gabriel Cash

    Son Saka Salah Bowen Mitoma

    Mubama Haaland Watkins

    0.0 ITB

I really went cheap bench to afford this but really looking for 0.4 more to do bowen to martinelli as i want to take advantage of arsenal fixture... what are my option

    A. Cash to Pau
    B. Mitoma to Gordon
    C. ??

    thanks guys!

I think Bowen outscores Martinelli as he has great fixtures as well, and is his team's talisman... And Jesus is injured (affects Mart's output)

I think you've squeezed out the best starting XI for the next few games. I wouldn't thinker with this anymore

    On Gw10 WC:

    A)
    Areola (Turner)
    Gabriel, Cash, Trippier, Tsimikas (Taylor)
    Saka, Son, Salah, Mitoma (Palmer)
    J. Alvarez, Haaland (Archer)
    0.0 ITB

    B)
    Areola (Turner)
    Gabriel, Cash, Tsimikas (Guehi, Taylor)
    Saka, Son, Salah, Bowen, Palmer
    Watkins, Haaland (Archer)
    0.0 ITB

    C)
    Areola (Turner)
    Gabriel, Paul, Tsimikas (Guehi, Taylor)
    Saka, Son, Salah, Gordon (Palmer)
    J. Alvarez, Haaland, Watkins
    0.0 ITB

With B I could also do Mitoma & Gordon instead of Bowen & Palmer.

    Any thoughts? Thank you!
