Also consider Sean Longstaff if you need a +- 5m mid. Should get plenty of minutes and has 4 returns.

Is Gordon a rotation risk this weekend after playing 90? I guess Willock isn't ready to start so presumably it'd have to be Joelinton. Is there enough cover in the CM roles for Joe to move left? Bruno, Longstaff... and I'm not sure who else...?

            https://twitter.com/DrizzyCPFC/status/1716807795855741184

From Alan Nixon, seem to have got it wrong or we are just saving him for Burnely, Eze ahead of 6 weeks shedule (although the original report did say "up to 6 weeks" then every media outlet said "out for at least 6 weeks" :), if both are back for Everton it make Palace defenders a better choice.

Zaha only played 270 mins under Roy due to his hamstrings,2 full games, and went off twice.

Eze and Olise are best buddies and there are talks of Eze in a contract extension with a minimum release clause, of £60-80m as no one is sure if QPR gets 20% sell on clause or not.

Guehi will be offered the same type of deal at the end of the season (he has 2 1/2 years). His release clause is anything at the moment, but Chelsea has the right to match the highest offer.

I don't think he gets rotated, yet again their best player v Dortmund and seems to have a lot of energy/recovers quickly.

Thanks. You didn't happen to get any clarity on the old left/right flank switcheroo, did you? Didn't get the greatest answer from TorresMagic & its still displaying the same way. What I've seen of Wolves would indicate their right flank is weaker (and thus that left/right are still mixed up)

        1. Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabadoo
          • 5 Years
          2 years, 5 months ago

Yeah no clarity, but it is the way you interpreted it ("zone" refers to the attackers, which is needless and confusing), so Gordon if selected as LAM would have a good match-up according to previous data (also think the fact that Neto is pushed up so incredibly high according to pass maps, while good for selecting him, makes the RB job even harder). There's also the question of whether Semedo slots straight back in (and is therefore well rested) or whether Doherty gets another go. Either way that right flank for Wolves will be targeted both ways (Burn was poor v Dortmund and deserved to be hooked early).

Wolves were tactically spot on v City, so they have a reference to repeat v Newcastle.

      A. I have a feeling if Jesus is fit Saka/Martinelli could be the biggest point scores are the week.

Fine Villa are amazing at home, Watkins has hogged the points, but Luton will play a lock block unlike, Brighton and West Ham. Palace did, and were 0-1 up into injury time before Astone Villa got a "fortunate" penalty in the 108th minute as VAR took 7 minutes to try and change referee Englands' mind.

They won 3-1 as the game lasted 117 minutes

But Luton have only conceded 8 goals themselves since they GW4 when they started playing at home.

Tonali or Anderson are no threat to Gordon. Barnes might be if he gets back in January but looked a good bit behind Gordon at the start of the season.

Takes me back to GW8. My entire defence would have been flagged and had no choice but to take hits.

    https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/cryst...t-for-surgery/

"Crystal Palace defender Nathan Ferguson looks set for surgery on a hamstring injury he suffered featuring for the U21 side in Tuesday night’s Premier League International Cup win over Monaco.

The South London Press understands that the 23-year-old has picked up a serious hamstring injury and is almost certain to need surgery on the problem.

Ferguson played 90 minutes for Darren Powell’s side in their 3-1 win over Monaco, as he stepped up his return to the first team after suffering a hsmring problem he picked up towwards the end of last season.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson confirmed that the 23-year-old had picked up an injury in his pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference, but did not divulge how serious the problem was.

Ferguson, who signed a new one-year deal in the summer, has only played eight minutes of senior football since signing from West Brom in July 2020."

Poor block. We bid for him £12m when West Brom went down. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10847704/nathan-ferguson-wba-crystal-palace/ Southampton were trying for him before Livramento.

    He was so highly regarded.

James McCArthur talking about him after Palace got Jimmy Mac fir enought to play the last 30 mins on the pitch on the final game last season

Nathan Ferguson. “I always feel sorry for people who haven’t had much of a career yet and get these injuries,” McArthur says.

“For me, I’ve had a good career and if I get back, that’s amazing, and I will work hard to do that. But I knew going into that operation that there was a chance I wouldn’t, and if it was the end I had had a good run at it. I felt I had done well for the club and they had done well for me. So I was content with what the final outcome was.

“[Nathan and I] did a lot of rehab together. He is such a nice lad. I really believe he can have a big future at this club. He has all the attributes to be a top player. He’s coming into a stage where he is staying fit, starting to play some games.

"He is the same as me: when he is on the pitch he gives everything, sometimes to the detriment of himself. We have spoken about that. I really believe he is going to come good, turn the corner and make a positive contribution in the future.

“I must say that, given what he has been through, the attitude he has got is a credit to himself and his family, every single day. Obviously, you get some down days when you get injured, but it gets back to the process of: ‘I’m getting fit, I’m getting fit, I’m getting fit!’ That’s why I want him to have the career he deserves.”

Its the same Reece James, as he has been amazing and had an amazing start, but Ferguson, never got that far, despite many clubs after him

The Tribunal was set at £4m in the end, but WBA, wanted more. In the end as he hadn't played any meaningful minutes in 3 years, it was set at £900k

    It must be soul-destroying.

Hmm, F could be tempting as it involves getting Watkins.

      D without a hit.

None of them appeal massively, all involve losing good players. Kabore to Braithwaite.

          Should work out, long-term.

If Udogie is out, then i will only have 2 playing defenders with Botman and Estu on my bench.

Having already taken a -4 is another hit justified to bring in Gabriel?

A been trying to get rid of Pedro for weeks.

Cash could be Digne (for 3 or 5 weeks), and Geuhi could be Gabriel?

I suppose it's team dependant and what you can do with the spare cash. I already have Saka, so not looking to change.

    Areola (Turner)
    Cash, Udogie, Burn (Botman, Lamptey)
    Salah, Son, Saka, Bowen, Diaby
    Haaland, Alvarez (Archer)

    2FT, 0.0 in bank

Haaland & Botman --> Watkins & Trippier for free?

Feels like chasing points and obviously not differentials, but equally I'm losing points not having them.

Just noticed Man City v Brentford pre-Christmas game is postponed without a date yet. May be useful in latter half of the season for triple captain, timing of wildcard etc.

Any hit needed here, lads? 0.3 itb.

    Areola
    Trippier, Udogie, Cash
Salah, Son, Bowen, Maddison, Douglas Luiz
    Haaaland, Álvarez

    Leno, Gusto, Taylor, Archer

Or Trippier. Udogie went off early, last week, Tripper, may get a rest, who knows?

If we get team news they are a doubt of course, as Trippier fixtures turn until GW16, and so do Spurs

Trippier and Alvarez, or Cash and Watkins.
Who scores more over the next 6 GWs?

That means sacrificing Son or Maddison. Which I’m not sure I want to do just yet…

          Sacrifice Haaland?
If I had to choose, I would go Tripps & Alvarez.

I personally prefer Trippier and Alvarez, but worried about Champions League and fatigue for Trips!
