      Can't decide whether to do
      A) Cash to Guehi
      B) Cash to Tsimikas
      C) Alvarez to striker up to 7.5...?who?
      D) Something else?

      1FT 0.6mil ITB

      Current team:

      Areola
      Porro, Gabriel, Cash
      Saka, Mitoma, Salah, Bowen, Son
      Alvarez, Haaland
      (Turner, Archer, Lascelles, Kabore)

A and B is fine. But if you do B, you might need to start Lascelles

If he's injured I will sell Mitoma. But it'll most likely be for Mbeumo as that was the plan for the week after anyway. Thanks.

A perverted and pathological fantasist, he used his devious powers of manipulation to snare others into his depraved web of hatred and violence, attracting a small band of twisted devotees who were prepared to commit cold-blooded murder on his command.

I watched the match live. When he went down he started to hit the ground and the stretcher was on the way into the field.
Two medic did something to him on the field, and after a minute or so he came on. He did play the last minutes but you could see he played with paln when he limped around. But he did walk around without any ice or bandage when he thanked the audience after the match.

Is there an article anywhere on the African Cup of nations impact on FPL?

By my reading it could be 4 gameweeks missed for players who make it to the final, right? (Gw21-25) and almost identical timescales for the Asian cup.

I've held my wildcard this far so thinking I may as well plan to use it gw19 and clear out son, salah, mitoma and any other african/Asian players I have at the time, as well as bringing haaland back in after his blank!

Neale is working on it now apparently. I think GW20 is the first GW they all miss

        • 4 Years

Think they'll still be available for GW19 though (and Son and Salah have superb fixtures v Brighton and Burnley respectively). GW20 is my target at the minute unless something else comes up, given City potentially will double then, although there's still the possibility that some of those players heading off will be available for fixtures then if they're allowed to join up with the squads a little later than the rest (think this happened with Salah last time?). Neale said he'll have an article up on it today in any case

I am also still on the fence on whether to bring back Haaland GW14 or just ride it out till after his blank.

With this ankle issue , wonder if Pep is going to give him less minutes? Will see what happens vs LFC and take it from there. Plus, I have done considerably well without Haaland but when the Afcon and the Asian cup starts, you will need him.

Well I consider a rank from 2.5m to 834k pretty good going when majority on here were scaremongering "Haaland will punish you"

No I was specifically referring to your own OR ( oh dear ). I know some whose OR is way better than that and who don't own Haaland .

Yes, some don't own Haaland or Salah and could be better off than you and me.

Point is, you are trying to find problems with not owning Haaland otherwise you would not carry on telling replying about how shi*te my rank is 😆 without Haaland.

Felt sure they said they took -4 and used BB this week and I know they used TC on Haaland v SHU

Points are points. My BB worked out and gained me a green arrow.

And yes, I used my TC on Haaland vs SHU and was an utter flop. Others used their TC on Haaland as well already and flopped.

I didn't say that either . Again that is something you've made up. Where did I state that your rank is sh*te ? Rather I stated that it was not doing considerably well . There's a very big difference.
My observation is that my current rank would not be anywhere near where it is currently if I hadn't owned Haaland from day one .

And I can say I would not have broken the million barrier if I still owned Haaland.

My point is that you should probably preface your points with that. You have made good ground for sure but you're misrepresenting things a bit by just saying you climbed up to that without Haaland and with using nothing else, or that you just got 91pts this week without a -4 or BB behind it

Unlikely for sure, but never know what plans some teams have, especially given what happened with the last AFCON (big delay due to covid) and given this one is happening 6 months late. Been a while since anyone had a steady AFCON build up

Ah ok so actually in 2021 PL players were originally scheduled to leave on 31/12 (with the 1st AFCON fixture 09/01) but then it got extended to 03/01. Maybe the same happens again this season but I haven't seen it confirmed

Maybe... looks like it could still be either 20/21 potentially. 21 would actually be easier to manage as we could stagger the Salah/Son downgrades, losing Salah before NEW to fund City doublers, while keeping Son for BOU

Yeah even if I'm using WC I may do just that actually. Guess we'll have to see what shape both sides are in given Maddison will still be out and perhaps Bournemouth are beginning to turn the tide (although I still think they look a mess defensively)

Doubt the GW20 fixtures are disrupted at all, so agreed with that.

AFCON tournament due to start on January 13, 2024.

In 2022 an initial 10-day window was shrunk to six days before the kickoff and a similar situation could occur for the 2024 competition.

A confirmed date for squads is also yet to be announced and is likely to be as late as possible, as previous tournaments

Haven't a clue honestly, but the fact he was with the squad and left always makes me think it's a bit bigger than a small issue and I doubt he would have wanted to miss two sets of games for Japan in a row

Yeah, he was on my transfer shortlist anyway. Would have fancied him v NFO but he could be first to go if confirmed injured. Wait'n'see what other issues arise in the next week.

      Low TV, on a WC!

      Areola ¦ Strakosha
      TAA Gabriel Guehi
      Salah Saka Bowen Mbeumo Eze
      Haaland Nkunku
      | Archer Lascelles Taylor

Guehi, Eze -> James, Palmer in 16.

      Thoughts, please?

Looks quite good, although I'd prefer someone like Solanke as a short-term punt over Nkunku.

It's either Solanke, Palmer or Nkunku, Eze. I feel Eze's next 3 have most potential.

The Norwegian side's doctor Ola Sand provided an update on the striker after the game and insists he is liaising with City's medical team. Sand said per Vg: “It was much of the same that happened against Bournemouth a week and a half ago. He has had it before too. He gets a slight twist in his ankle, where he is a bit vulnerable. It hurts a lot right away, and then it goes away pretty quickly.

Sounds like Haaland will be fit for Liverpool. However, if this is becoming a recurring issue, I can see Pep "managing his minutes" especially during the crunch time.

I wanted to bring Haaland back in soon (actually when KDB is fit again) but might wait now and see how this is going to develop.

If you're only going to bring in Haaland when KDB is fit again, then this automatically becomes a "wait and see" for you.

No, not only. The latest date is City's DGW, but it might happen earlier.

But imagine DGW for City and Pep managing Haalands minutes like in that Bournemouth match.

Thing is it's probably the same case for KDB and basically everyone else. Especially if KDB is fit then I can't see many others around that will avoid rotation including Alvarez. Funnily enough Haaland is likely the one who will end up with two starts and the most minutes. Only Walker has played more minutes than him in the PL and only those two and Alvarez have started every game, and in all comps no-one has started as many games as Haaland (18) or played more minutes than him. Last season wasn't far off that too (only behind Ederson and Rodri for PL starts and minutes and the same case for all comps).

Sounds like KDB might not be too far away now though judging by his own comments from a week or so ago and Pep's comments from the other day

Just to be clear. I'm not planning to get KDB. But as you said, when he is back other City midfielders are likely to get fewer minutes than Haaland.

However, if Haalands ankle remains at risk, we might see some of Peps rotation fun which could be a game changer.

I just want to be sure whether it is worth moving back to Haaland or keeping Alvarez instead.

            Hot damn.

Even with that they probably surivire this year given their form, plus the quality of relegation candidates.

... Chelsea & Man City backing into the hedge as we speak.

It could either galvanise the team and fans and they go on to have a stellar season, avoiding relegation, or it might demoralise them, they collapse, get relegated, and then with suffer wilderness for years to come.

They will appeal, but I do certainly find it interesting that, despite charges being brought against Man City, there was no initial points deduction, and it seems like they're being given plenty of time to fight their case before anything is decided in terms of prospective punishment, while they have had no issues in handing out an immediate punishment to Everton. Although maybe the circumstances differ here for all I know

The compleCity is that some teams earn sh** loads of money in the CL while others don't even qualify for the second round in the FA Cup.
